I just love this song and I can remember it since I was going school in my teen years and I am married 40 years Now and it still stir me up..beautiful 😍
I'm 60, and this song is definitely included on the soundtrack of my life..I was about 10 when this was burned into my brain..This song is 50 years old and still on hit!!
I'm Foster Jackson Sr and I had the pleasure of playing guitar on this record and entire album. Jerry practiced with us in his barber shop on Sutter Ave, Brooklyn, and they were some of the most memorable times and learning experiences of my life. He was awesome!! He could run through a song 10 or 12 times and never miss a note... Each take was good enough to be a record. I learned what it takes by watching him I was only 17, but he made us feel like seasoned veterans.
JAZZY DJ this is the first time I heard this in my life to my remeberance. we had a juke box at our place and I thought I had heard all the records at least once. this popped up on CZcams while I was listening to Jimmy Hughes steal away and why not tonight.
I played guitar for Jerry on this album with my band, "The Electric Rubber Band". Myself, Foster Jackson Sr., Steven (Beco) Morris, Jerry Morris, Richard Morris, Freddie, Roy & Gene used to rehearse in Jerry Washington's barbershop on Sutter Ave, in Brooklyn. It was Amazing!!
Awesome. Haven't heard this song in over 30 years! Took me way back to the time when rapping meant putting together a string of sweet words that are pleasant to the ears of that special lady.
