I worked at a company where all the AL scrap went to the Christmas party fund. Encouraged good recycling practices. They would buy nice prizes for a name draw.
Recycling is a scam, corporations invented recycling to push the pollution problem towards the consumer while they keep ramping up production year after year
Recycling is a scam created by corporations so that they can keep ramping up production and blame the consumers for pollution because they didn't recycle enough
I work at a car dealership and we bring scrap to the recycling facility and use the money to buy everyone lunch. It's pretty amazing how skilled the employees are at controlling their huge magnets to pick the metal out of the bed of the truck. Theyll quickly swing the arm over and avpid hitting your back window by like 2 inches and make it looks effortless lol Definitely worth doing it if you have space to store scrap metal!
Wait seriously. I never paid that much attention to the inside of the can. I thought the companies didn't care about our health and used aluminum because it was cheap.
@Alejandra-cv7rj it's a very thin layer of plastic, and it's only so the beverage doesn't react to the aluminum, but yes. All drink cans have a lining of plastic in them
the trick to aluminum scrap is classifying the alloys that 6061 commands a nice price I used to get literal tons of it from building forms for concrete floors on multifloor buildings
Man, it would be a dream working at your place. I love working with my hands and power tools doing mechanical stuff, building stuff like your wheelchair and bunker elevator, and then recycling all the trash left.
absolutely insane to think about America not having a deposit refund system for cans and bottles. they're are so behind compared to Scandinavian countries
I guess you don't know this but many grocery stores and some liquor stores do give you 5-10 cents per bottle or can depending on which state you live in. My state gives 5 cents but a couple states from me does 10 cents. It says the deposit amount for local states right on the cans.
One time I had a bunch of old boxes at work that we couldn't sell so I decided to recycle it instead of throwing it away, hoping I could make some money in the process. They were new and unfolded and they took up my entire back seat, probably weighed like 30 or 40 pounds, and they gave me a whopping $1.50 for it! It was about 20 miles away so it ended up costing me more money than I made to drive there lol
They shouldn’t pay you in cash, since there’s high risk of FEC involved. Lots of metals get stolen and if they only do wire transfers, sales can be traced and the register of the company checked periodically. Do they check your ID btw?
About 4 years ago I took in almost 6 tons of scrap aluminum mostly transmission cases and some billet blocks and other misc solid aluminum all cleaned of any other metals. I got cashed out after being led on that I had a large payout coming. When they paid me I received $80. I just scrapped a car a month ago and am still waiting on payment for it. Maybe I am doingbit wrong.
I bet you got more than I did with our local place off scrapping used to be so much better i'm about to just start melting my own aluminum and sand casting.. 2 days loading tin and aluminum 60$ nike naw hard pass it was 107 with heat index ... know your own worth :)
He would have gotten even more in Europe, because we call it Aluminium, and that's one letter more than the American way of spelling, so he would have earned more. Facts!
Is this that center over in/near the springs? Or in another state like AK, Mt, WY ? Very cool!! If all my money wasn't used in trying to support myself and my family I would of bought that little aluminum trailer off y'all....or worked for y'all to earn it.
U weighed it b4 i always weigh my scrap at home as i go so i know 97% close to exact cash il make i keep track of it so wen its a decent trip i know if its worth it yet or not also u can wait for higher prices then go i try do both to maximise my profit. Always good for a weekly beer n bbq once a week and a nice xmas party beer fund
I wish you could build me a wheelchair for getting out into the yard and hunting. I need one where my legs are up and not in sitting position. I have insurance but most places don't take insurance on the type of mobility devices thats out there. I seen the cool rides you built your wife, God i wish i could do that again. Design, cutting and welding, i was awesome doing all of that. I have the knowledge but not the body anymore. Life sucks big time when you are stuck in bed for almost 4 years. I know because this November will be the 4 year mark for me.
Cans can be returned in several US states as well. Here they aren't being returned to the government via a recycling program - they're simply being sold as scrap metal so they're worth way less.
Technically he was 59 cents off.... pretty dang impressive
being a few bucks off is crazy
59 cents*
😛 Same thing though
Bring enough stuff to a junk yard or a scrape yard and overtime you'll get a feel for how much you'll make or pay with what you bring in.
99.99364 accuracy
no it's not stop botting
Knowing that that is like 1/50th of the cost of the material before is the crazy part to me

Wow, 249 dollars! ... you now have enough cash to buy a Big Mac combo!!!!!👍
😂
McDonald's is stupid anyway
Bro what ?
More like 26 Big Mac combos
Nah man, be real. He’s could buy at least two with all that money
All of that aluminum for $248 and Apple will still charge $999 for an aluminum stand
Nice seeing an electric truck doing truck stuff. ❤
Thanks for recycling & sorting the different types of aluminium 😊

It took me a second to understand the message on the back of the truck I thought you wanted people to speed through speed bumps 😂
Nah, the message is just for people in wheelchairs.
Still don't get it...
@@Ish-CZcams He builds wheelchairs that can go over speedbumps easily
@@thefrub oh thanks
I think it speaks to life in general and has nothing to do with wheelchairs.
Fun fact: aluminum cans aren't just aluminum. They have a layer of plastic inside where the actual drink is
Wait seriously. I never paid that much attention to the inside of the can. I thought the companies didn't care about our health and used aluminum because it was cheap.
@Alejandra-cv7rj it's a very thin layer of plastic, and it's only so the beverage doesn't react to the aluminum, but yes. All drink cans have a lining of plastic in them
@Alejandra-cv7rj if you dissolve away the aluminum from the outside, you'll be left with a plastic wrap bag.
that layer is so thin that i've still had a few cans of soda develop pinhole leaks when i've let them sit unopened for a few years 😅
thats why I cringe at beer can chicken
They got the better deal. Some of that aluminum looked pretty useful.
the trick to aluminum scrap is classifying the alloys that 6061 commands a nice price I used to get literal tons of it from building forms for concrete floors on multifloor buildings
Shavings get less money though. Gotta melt it solid.
In my hand they are worth more than a billion 😂
MCR really takes care of their customers, Glad you did well with your scrap run!!!
Give it to Heisenberg
Underrated af😂😂
You're going to knock on his door?
I sold scrap steel a few days ago and I estimated it 10$ then end up with 6$ 😂
He didn’t take the Gold Cyber truck because the recycling plant probably would have mistaken it for scraps
I'm impressed that you managed to get an Amazon package tote for your cans.
if somehow collected all that aluminum once a month i could almost pay my health insurance
Sad part is if purchased in store, that pile of scrap would be over a thousand dollars!
My boss throws all the aluminum out from our 3 tormachs and our huge Haas CNC machine. I might start collecting all of it.
Zack is too good at everything

absolutely insane to think about America not having a deposit refund system for cans and bottles. they're are so behind compared to Scandinavian countries
Same as Australia. Each of those cans here are worth 10 cents. Makes it well worth it to recycle
I guess you don't know this but many grocery stores and some liquor stores do give you 5-10 cents per bottle or can depending on which state you live in. My state gives 5 cents but a couple states from me does 10 cents. It says the deposit amount for local states right on the cans.
@@vigilant_1934 There are still only 10 states that pay, though.
Don’t have it here in the uk either 🤷🏻♂️
There are a handful of states that do, but most don't.
$0.59 off is crazy. Good guess Zack
We recycle aluminium not for money, but for future motorcyles 🙏

Ouch, should have just sold them somewhere. Boxes are expensive.

No. Theft is a big part of recycling
Lol no. They should absolutely pay in cash. It's an exchange of goods for legal tender.
In Orem Utah. Visit that place often
59 cents off is insane
Plus the money you earned from this video.
I took an entire dump trailer filled to the top with aluminum they paid me $100 probably only worth it if the aluminum is pure/clean
Those trailers look hella light!
Hey, Jack one question what is the use of that holed cap 😅?
Jerry this was your foray into aluminum foundry youtube world.
I did the landscape there at MCR in orem
Share the love guys. Recycle aluminum.

MCR is a great recycler.
Considering how much I pay for a thin piece of aluminum at Home Depot, I’m going to say you got ripped off. Me too though…
Whats the time frame in collecting the aluminum
Internet millionaires playing crackhead collecting pop cans
Ive been to that scrapyard 😂 ive dropped off so many broken appliances there

Aluminum. Isn't that what wolverine's skeleton is made from?

Actually you were only $0.59 off. Crazy for sure.
How much for cans? i have around one full bucket of them after 6 months

Humble too

Time for you to test the space x 😅
In Australia you'd get around 800aud for that
Western Metals???? Fond memories
i see a toyota fj right there, my baby 😊
We get way more here in Canada, I returned a couple of cans (around 50-80) and got $25

Because you have deposit on it

I wonder if it would have been cheaper to coat the Cybertruck in this? ;)
Cut the soda guys seriously.
Craziest thing about this video is I know where this is.
Ayyy, MCR recycling! I live literally like 1 minute from there. They won't buy my old Catalytic converter :(
Time go steal almuinum scrap barrel from my sheetmetal class.
off $ .59 OFF NOT BAD
Jerry we need your help with creating a bed for people in wheelchairs ♿
provo, orem, lindon?? where are you from?? i used to take the recyclying from my first job in Utah there on a weekly basis. :)
I could've used that trailer frame 😫🤣
bro went over. Price is right rules always apply
Please tell me you had a net or a tarp over all of that
Imagine saying “about 249 “
"I was one dollar off!!!" Spoken like a true J.
How heavy was all that?
Why not use the cyber truck?
I’d rather melt it down and use it then sell it
Mission complete😎
Bro not accept defeat....
Would have gotten more if they took the truck too. Lots of aluminum.
We only take Onions for Scrap metals 😂
your 59 cents off
Galvanized square steel
I thought Jerry had like 5 different kinds of trucks. Why is he renting one?😂
to be short he got 40 usd for it
This pays for half a month of having a roof above your head.
Compared to life necessities, fysica stuff is cheap.
Now tell us how much the aluminum is worth retail. That is the real crime.
its enough for you to have enough money to visit a high class swingerclub.....😂👍
A rookie mistake
Mash the cans but I suggest standing them up then mash them to gain bit more weight and more space
Would like to see how much towing the electric trucks can do in a real world test and how long it takes to fill
