Notre Dame LB Marist Liufau is trying to follow in the footsteps of a former Irish Polynesian linebacker in Manti Te’o. He doesn’t have the same amount of hype or attention, but NFL scouts seem to like his game. He’s all over the field & has the tendency to make a play when they need it.

@jefflawrence5490 how can't you see the resemblance in play style is the better question. Aggressive, fast, instinctual player that hits above his weight class. The traits troy had around the LOS this kid clearly displays. Not the elite coverage safety he was, but he's a linebacker... bigger Troy. Hopefully it translates to the pros.

I see a very smart and high energy guy. That can be the play caller in the middle and he has major range. Very versatile. A complete highlight showed everything. Point of attack against run, pass rushing, open field tackling impressive, knows passing lanes. This kid is going to shine with us. Him, over shown, Micah. This will be a fun, fast but violent defense

Oh damn! Did not see this guy’s name on top 10 LBs list but he’s currently the 5th best LB in this draft class! Would not be upset if GB wound up picking him up in the 3rd round if they don’t go with Cooper or Wilson in round 2, then round 3 would need to be either Junior Colons, Jeremiah Trotter Jr, or this guy! Packers need to fill LB big time, I think him with Quay Walker would be fun! Packers could make him become very solid

With Jason Garrett calling the ND football games, I can't help but think he had his hands and input in there somewhere with the Cowboys' decision to draft him.
Anyone else think this guy could play OLB in a 3/4? While I don’t think he’s as versatile as MP in the same way but I could see him having success on the right side as a pass rusher.

People need to understand...he is compared to Polamalu becuae of the way he is able to incorporate his natural athleticism within staying in the scheme of the defense and even making plays outside of the scheme with pure instinct. Give him time to learn in the nfl and the Polamalu comparisons will be real clear...sooner than later
