For the comments, I believe people forget what this scene was about. It's not about wanting more of one another, it's about the fact that the guy she considered her friend, called her emocionally damaged and a bunch of other bad stuff to his sister. He was wrong by doing that, she had every right to be upset.
I seem to recall that Jamie was the first one to call herself "Emotionally damaged" so him agreeing shouldn't have been such an insult. If someone self-deprecates and believes it, then the truth shouldn't hurt. If they say it for attention and to hear "Oh no you're not, you're amazing!" then that's on them.

But consider this. Jamie eavesdropped on a private conversation, and incidentally heard something that she was never meant to hear. It's not as if he said those things directly to her face. He was saying in confidence with another person. It's not his fault she accidentally overheard it.
Everyone always has pet peeves with those they're close to. That doesn't mean they love them any less, but we all tend to get frustrated with one another from time to time, and we all need to vent. It's not being hateful or mean. It's just being human.

@@Fbitypeshit That's why she decided to stay away from him. The fact that it was not his fault for not having feelings for her doesn't mean that this was easy for her to handle. The whole friendship was already ruined, since she had feelings and he didn't so she was right to stay away from him.

That’s right she did the right thing by staying away but you can tell now he started also to have feelings he was constantly calling and texting her so it’s way passed the friendship and benefits there starting to fall for one another Dylan like Jamie wants more.
She did enthusiastically agree the whole way, no? And I've introduced college friends to my family before... I'd say what he expected to happen is that she'd treat the friends part as seriously as the benefits? Just guessing.
I've personally had the FwB thing last for 18 months, to the point that we knew each others' friends, she met a few family members of mine including my mom (she wasn't American) because IMO my friend needed that kind of support, and a few years later I got invited to her wedding. She was really nice, we had very little in common except intense and unreasoning, unreasonable, sexual chemistry and sexual pragmatism, and eventually came to trust the other person was what they appeared to be. This was mid-2000s. Last time she and my mom spoke was about 6 months ago.
That exceeded my expectations in the best possible way. So it can happen, and especially if you work at it and have a peculiar and limited scope of friendship with a genuine depth of caring for the other person while not being so overly-Romantic that you see 1 path for a relationship involving the occasional us of each others' genitalia, and right when that begins to lose its chemical novelty, she meets a guy who is perfect for her.

I just watched the whole movie for the first time even thought I am ten years late. I don't like romantic comedies but this is one of the few I liked. Very funny movie

This is like "every modern girl" in one scene: blaming the guy for not being able to see her "so obviously"-telegraphed signs of "I want something more", while simultaneously not pushing hard for "more" when she has decided that she doesn't want it--which could be at any time and for any reason (but probably because she isn't "feeling it"...whatever that means). Regardless of what decision she makes or how she is feeling at any given moment, the guy is _always_ in the wrong.
