The magician does it again. I thought the three falconets at the end was the undoing for kaiser. When hazza dived in to kill those falconets, that forced Kaiser to group his units to body block allowing the ashigaru to finally get it range. And the pavilion being set to boost hp made the nagis virtually steel tanks. Fantastic game
Love seeing Hazza back! He is by far the best player in the DE era, so sad he was so inactive after 2021
Kaiser: wins a big fight with pikes....then stops making pikes and allows nagis to feast on his skirms

Dopps are 2 slow, base legacy never buffed, if it was any civ but Japan Dopps could do well vs musk cav archer but Yumi with insane speed and fire animation and speedy infantry turns the dopps into pincushions
Hazza at his peak is the GOAT, won many tournaments against Kaiser in finals, sometimes even one sided.

hazza with that god like macro, always keps his res low and buildings pumping units. i remember watching a tourney a year or 2 ago and he had impeccable macro, really good eco
good for japan players bad for my soul. everyones using the 300f build and since most ppl apply pressure on japan, you're so much slower to get the first punch its crazy.

Incredible micro by Hazza, he almost lost at one point. Japan is one of the very few civs which can come close to germany.
I think instead of tiers each civ should have a rating. If Germany has rating of 3000+. Japan would have 2800. China 2900.
Kaiser should have stuck with the pikes. War wagons aren't that good
In the new German remake they have card that permanently replaced their war wagons with a dragon like unit
The standard German army is very bad against Japan, the ashis always catch the war wagons and the naginatas sweep away the skirmishers. Kaiser should have gone with mercenaries, giant grenadiers and jaegers won against ashi/naginatas, Germany also has pandours to counter the yumis, but Kaiser doesn't learn from his mistakes and plays very standard. That map was very good for mercenaries, much gold.
Another thing that might have been good for Kaiser is using chevaulegers, war wagons are bad against fast infantry armies.
In any case, Japan was always the worst match for Germany, in tournaments and competitive games Japan almost always wins, the lack of musketeers and the slowness of the war wagons make Japan win too easily, as seen in this video.

@@albanismaili8271 Japan is the civilization that I hate the most in this game because of all the bad times I had in The Asian Dynasties where it was broken and the lamers abused this civi, unfortunately for me I was always main Germany, the worst civi against Japan.
Unfortunately, its nerfs were not enough and there are still OP things in this civi, such as the daymios, the speed of the ashigarus, the very high damage of its infantry, the extra range of the incendiary arrows or the ability to send shipments twice.

Japan can continue creating Vils during age up so that kind of softens the blow of not sending any villagers.
I think that’s more so cancelled out by the fact they need to dedicate Vills to even age up. anybody else could have been gathering with those 4 vills for like 30-60 seconds
