I have a rescue for you, I live in Oregon and own a forestry mulcher. I am currently working on a property in Oregon wine country that has a steam engine that has been laid over and stuck in the mud since the 1800's. The steam engine was used to pull logs out of the mountains, it tipped over and at the time they tried pulling it out of the field without success. They put loads of rock around it to stabilize the ground but at the time didn't have the proper equipment to pull it out. Highway 47 makes an unusual turn going through this property and that is because they had to build the highway around the steam engine stuck in the field. This would be a very challenging recovery and I think you are the only ones who could possibly pull it off.
Would love to see that recovery
@HeavyDSparks Let me know if you want to bring the crew to Oregon? I will clear the brush and any vegetation that stands in your way.
I want to see this as well.
That would be awesome!!!
I'm from Oregon and did not know that. I would like to see that as well. It would be like history meets Heavy D
Adding Alan to the team was one of the best decisions you guys made. I come for the insane vehicles, but stay for Alan's words of wisdom.
His presence was good for Hans as well. I don't watch that much, more for background noise where if I miss 15 minutes it really doesn't matter. But up until Hans and Alan were fueding,, Hans was a cranky pitch most of the time. Hans's general attitude has gotten better, at least for the camera.
*Put two servo-activated wastegate doors on the outside walls of the ducts (tunnels) around props to dump air at zero mph or below 1800 idle rpm.*
I agree Alan was a great addition to the crew.
*ALAN IS A TEAM MEMBER THAT HELPS*
Totally agree with you man... Alan is brain of the crew
It’s like Dave’s annoyed when Allen mentions an idea but 98% of the time Allen’s right
Allen’s brain goes into automatic HOW TO MODE when you guys have a problematic situation. Although y’all didn’t resort to his method ya gotta give him credit for his ingenious ideas. That guy’s a walking encyclopedia of HOW TO METHODS!
I think Alan has pretty much has developed the problem solving skills to build the Fortress by himself. His solutions always seem to be feasible.
@@f.k.burnham8491 The Marines teach you improvise. The Wizard has got that licked.
Dave can really get the clicks, huh. Destroy something, make a video that garners enough money to replace the destroyed item. He’s no dummy!
He just goes, "Huh."

Hovercrafts have nylon zip ties attached from the floor to the skirt, that are there to break in case the skirt gets stock with a branch or in this case a rock. You always want to carry spare zip ties and a airbag jack. It is a simple fix if he had the airbag to jack it up to change the zip ties. That particular hovercraft is a rescue hovercraft, it should be able to carry 3-4 men. Always check for the drain plug before going to the water, and keep the engine on when sitting on water. They can still float with engine off because they have foam flotation inside the hull, but water still makes it to the plenum chamber through the skirt filler ports, and it makes the hovercraft really heavy, until you drain it by the drain plug. Avoid turning the engine off while sitting on water if possible. That will make your life more easy.
*I think Dave’s been spending too much time with Whistlin Diesel* 😂
You might be spot on there, haahah
lol seems that way
😂😂😂 WD is a bad influence 🤣🤣🤣
Alan is the brains of that bunch.
…and, Dave never listens to any of his ideas…
which probably is best for both the business and the rest of the frickin world 😂
@@pauljoseph8338exactly!! Alan gives an idea on how it should be done & Sparks says, “um… nope. I’ll do it my way.”
Good for Dave. His show not Allan's lol.
It really seems like Alan annoys heavy d. I think it’s sad.
Anyone else expected to see Nate still on the beach waiting at the end? That's what I was expecting anyway haha
Oh snap they left Nate on the beach all this time!
Your scx6 honcho as your pro. pic. is sweet!!! Random but true. Sorry not sorry 😔😐 anyone else ever notice how EVERY SINGLE BELOVED channel had sick RC models hiding in the back throughout vids, but NEVER show them AT ALL??? Like the "Bro-Dozer Xmaxx"? SRK cycle's various Armas? The mystery begins.......
Poor Nate is still waiting to be picked up. haha.
Lol!! Same here😂
"The HOA is gonna be so pissed" -Hans.
Music to my ears!!! =D
As a previous owner of a Griffon 10 place Hovercraft, I knew right away when I saw this guy operating it he would trash the skirt and underbody in a short time. And now here we go.
? those are massive lmao
As a NEVER owner of a Hovercraft I knew going over the rocks like that wouldn’t turn out good. What a pile.
Exactly. He thought it was a rock crusher, not a hover craft.
Hovercraft are used extensively in Alaska for when in between freeze up and spring thaw. Also used for transport across water for people and mail in multiple places in alaska. They are also used by the military like the LCAC and Contractors plus regular folks for ice breaking. You canake mods to them to make them a lot more efficient!
Dave tries too hard to push the envelope, for the content. Wrecking vehicles is stupid.
Alan should have at least gotten the first option of a ride, or even to drive it!! He did guess correctly!!!
Yes, quite interestingly different from normal- thats why one just cannot miss any of Heavy D's episodes ! Great stuff.
Camerawork, editing and SFX of Alan is brilliant! 😂
An improvement, yes!
Great episode per usual and a successful rescue. Thanks for letting us come along.
I'm not sure how anyone could look at those big sharp rocks and say yeah this fabric skirt will handle that no problem lol
🤣
Yea full speed ahead. Jams throttle.
Great on flat snow, aka frozen lakes, not so good on hilly snow as it will have a tendency to go down slope at a rate proportional to the slope.
Skirt seems rather sensitive in this model, it being hobbyist grade. Maybe look into upgrading into something like military grade skirts those use. If it can handle marine, it probably can handle Dave and crew.. After that maybe test ON WATER what kind of jumping etc it can handle.
I love the “Yield To Aircraft” sign
THE WIZARD CAN FIX EVERYTHING THAT HANS BREAKS. I TRUST THE WIZARD ON EVERYTHING. THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH WIZARD FOR THE GREATEST JOB YOU ARE DOING. PLEASE WIZARD TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND ALL YOUR FRIENDS SIR.
I have buried a few telehandlers the trick to getting them out is 1" plywood depending on how sunk it is you can just put it under the outriggers and lift up enough to get plywood under the front wheels then get some weight stacked on the forks boom out with the outriggers raised till the rear starts to lift off.
With every video I watch I just love the production and the plot so much more
Get a Neoteric hovercraft. They have thrust reversers.
You need to install lifting points to not tear up the bottom. And have a repair kit available for rebuilding your skirt.
The dam thing is a hazardous toy. Water travel only!
This was more of one of those videos where I enjoyed you guys your smiles your laughter your interactions with each other I care less about the hovercraft but the kids seem to love it
PS adding Alan to the team it's awesome love the guy his spirit impersonality who makes you laugh even if you feel sad
I'm sending the team a very merry merry Christmas with lots and lots of love
We have the same type of hovercraft. The best modification is to install a separate lift motor that keeps the skirt inflated to maximum potential. You have Less chance of ripping a skirt and more predictable control. That is what my dad did. He installed a lift motor with an 8-bladed lift fan. All it does is inflate the skirt. The thrust motor will get more control and power as you remove the air damns choking and preventing it from putting out maximum rear thrust.
I lived on the Fraser River under the alex Fraser bridge and every time someone jummped off the bridge, the hovercraft from the Canadian coast guard would come up the river. It was loud as shit but the fastest machine on water ifevever seen. Love hovercraft
Alan is legitimately one of my favourite humans that I’ve never met!
Alen is a very intelligent dude
Oh, you mean Allan, no, he be Wizard!
Yesss. Proper hovercraft attire. Pit Viper glasses. Nice! 11:45
Nothing like waking up early in the am , 3 ! And watching you guys 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! Thanks for the laughs ❤
Gotta know the limits one way or another.
Just stay safe and don't go testing cliffs.
You must know Clint Eastwood.
I seem to have a similar issue with breaking stuff!!
I saw one of those in Die Another Day as a kid and always loved them! Super cool
Alan needs more credit
i'm convinced most men are completely jealous of Heavy D's toy collection
And you are one of them 🤷
I am lol
I'm not that dumb.
Not if you live in Alaska!
Everything ends with a rescue mission 😂
I was flying out of that airport yesterday... kinda glad I wasn't there for these shenanigans. LOL
If I were able to put money towards any merch on any channel I follow, I'd pick the "I love Hans" shirt that Dave is wearing, haha!
Great video - thanks for sharing your hovercraft experience!
Heather🇨🇦
Instead of 4 small fins, I think you need to add 2 larger fins on the outside ends of those to stabilize the steering. Like on your air boat. And your skirt needs to be more of a heavy-duty marine material like on the military hovercraft to avoid tearing and give you more lift.. Good luck! 👍😄
Well spoken, SIR!
I've been on a Hovercraft once in my life and it was awesome. I couldn't imagine it being that fun but I'm glad it was. Yeah loud is an understatement.
The editing in this is perfect. Hilarious
I wish these videos were longer. THats all little Timmy wants for christmas this year.
Me, myself and I also.
Our department had the exact same hovercraft. I serviced/repaired it for 12 years. I think it broke every time it went out. Be careful setting it down while turning, you can rip the skids off the bottom.
I rode in huge Hovercraft across the English Channel! It was awesome…it had seats like an airplane!
Y’all looked like little kids with a new toy! Great video!
I have always wanted a hovercraft! They are so cool! Dave has the best times!
Diesel Dave is the greatest hype man a any man could ask for
The Navy has huge ones that can carry a tank ashore. They call them LCATS
Never too old to learn a new way to do something stupid! Thanks guys
Chuckling!
Always an adventure when you upload 😍
I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas from Canada.
Used to see those units flipped over and sunk in a Lot of Alaskan rivers. Actually worked on Huge hovers 4 engines and props in ducted fans would haul a semi and trailer.
If ya aren't breaking something , ya ain't having enough fun . LoL
This is a job for " The Black Hawk " .
I almost died laughing 😂 thanks guys. I needed that
As long as you learn from your mistakes. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
He doesn’t.
love your vids guys keep them coming
I watched d the Military version back over a concrete light pole in Okinawa Japan. It was awsome.
Somebody please make that Man a Wreck-It Ralph
Trophy 🏆 😂
Have you looked into track log skiders like FMC or Timberjack just too name a couple. Could be a good fit for your recoveries.
I love all of these machines that you show us😅
It happens 😊Merry Christmas to all 😊
I drive those 55k Lulls for work (Fork Lift) and they are the best machines ever created.
I love that Allen is part of the team now, also hands is alright.
Not Michael Clifford from 5 Seconds Of Summer with the "Yikes!" 😂😂😂
Better get some tracks for low impact use in snow, mud & sand on that telehandler!
It's a good thing you have the equipment to get it out ! ! !
You should learn how to sling load with your Blackhawk. Be a great for light recovery such as this. Blackhawk was designed for sling load operations also. Did it all the time in the Army
I love you guys. Your fun little test drive turned into your own recovery. Par for the course boys.
Knowingly going out braking stuff ..leaving a huge imprint to make a video is sad... anyone looking at the vehicle with any knowledge knew it was going to brake down.. wrong thing to do for views
love your videos, I know you from DMAX, I thought the videos were good back then, but I love your YT videos even more. I find it interesting but also exciting and funny - the perfect mix
That tele handler is a beast!
When doesn't Heavy D break something new
Keep up the good work
Cool to see you all into r/c's
Cleatus McFarland says, hold my beer and watch this!!
Dave I recommend you watch how they launch the last remaining commercial hovercraft (Isle of white UK) trying to launch it like a boat will not work best unload it in car park and drive it down the ramp onto the water 19:28 , the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute) use hovercraft for rescues in areas that boats cannot operate.
The Canadian Coast Guard, US Navy and Marines. There's a hovercraft ferry from T.O. to Niagara Falls just for fun. They know how to steer them.
13:37 you need some inflatable rollers common In Durban SOuth Africa, they beach thier boats with it.
That's great like an air boat go any where most excellent
It would be cool to have a hover craft. Even cooler to have a Sherp, but both cost way more money than I will ever have. Nice thing about a Sherp is it goes on land and water , but it is not designed to be a "go fast" vehicle. Perfect for here in the PNW. It is also not as fragile as a hover craft.
Pretty cool nice recovery
A perfect rescue opportunity for the Blackhawk!
My hovercraft has two engines, 5hp lift engine, 18hp thrust engine. (16' two seater) Being able to separately control the engines is huge. I can run the lift engine and easily move it around.
I originally bought it to get to my island over dangerous ice conditions.
Just a nerdy point, 'hovercraft' just like aircraft and moose, sheep, goose, training and information does not have an 's' at the end when used to describe the plural. They are a class of words known as irregular plural nouns.
Time for Cleetus to come show you how to operate a machine for once 😂
Ol Cleet, ate 💩 on his😂😂😂
They float! The US Naby uses a much Larger version tho move equipment from ship to shore and vise versa
This thing is gonna be as much fun as the fanboat in the snow
This thing is going to be wrecked when you take it to the snow. Totally out of control the whole way for sure. 11:05
I can just see it, pinballing off the trees.
There's got to be a jet propelled hovercraft somewhere. Where much smaller fans keep the curtains inflated but the thrust comes from the two jet engines. Some American can surely build that.
Hmm maybe different pitch props or larger props/ turbo engine.
I don't understand all the negative comments. Dave started out with nothing; his dad had a lot of health problems when Dave was growing up so they didn't have a lot of the same opportunities other kids might have had. He is a self-made man, it's not costing any of us anything by watching what he does/ buys, or how he spends his money. He is fulfilling his childhood dreams and quite frankly a lot of our dreams through his as well. Why can't people just be happy for someone when they are successful instead of criticizing or posting negative comments. If I had the money, I would probably be doing some of the same things he does. Dave and crew, keep doing what you're doing. I for one enjoy your content.
Love those telehandlers. Every time we need one on a jobsite they get me to run it. That Sany is sweet!
It had not the slightest of problem. Makes total sense why Dave loves it.
That tele handler has a very unique life
Whristlindiesel: I need to stop not breaking things
HeavyD: I need to stop breaking things
I think the most fun you can have on a hovercraft is on a frozen lake. I had a smaller one before here in Florida, and I was disappointed because it wasn't anywhere near what I thought they would be. lol.
I knew Alan was gonna get it right I'm an alien too! I love your guys' spirit and everything you do May God protect you guys, and bless you many times over! Oh yeah and don't get old lol! Roll on!
huh i thought they werent normally small theres one for sale in texas houston i think for 75 k but its big like semi truck with trailer!!
Sooo what about that saweeeeet Camaro in the hangar??? She definitley needs a video!!!
Am that hovercraft when you and buddy was on the song reminded me of a movie of a I think a dog movie? Can't remember merry Christmas eveyone
The Wizard knows EVERYTHING 😂
No you don't everyone I know loves to take it to the limit ...one more time, and it's very entertaining. Bust on.!!!
