Yes seen him around 1973 Birmingham odean no big massive venues then seen him around 5 times I seeing him this year York race course.i really like is faces days.
One of the few examples where Rod Stewart actually sings the song written for him by Ronnie Lane to sing in his natural key. I seem to remember a DJ for GLR in the nineties criticising Stewart for singing it. We all remember Lane and Stewart but not an idiot DJ. Beautiful and well crafted song.
Scott Peets Ian played at a small pub here and I helped load the Hammond on and off stage. Spoke with him about 20 mins. Sweet, wonderful man. He passed not soon afterwards
I think of Ian every time I hear Faces / Rod keyboards. He was one of the coolest and nicest people on earth. I had the honor of working with him on his appearance on the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour show which was shot about 3 weeks before his sudden passing. He was a joy filled person.
Woddy and Rod were always a fantastic team unbreakable like peas and carrots but you always knew in the back your mind that Ronnie was a stone a Rolling Stone.
A Faces line up without Ronnie Lane & Ian McLagan is just not right. Rod didn't want a reunion when Mac was still alive & I wish he'd kept it that way.
@@richardrollison4197 True. Shortly before Mac died in late '14, Mac said, "I won't do a reunion with Rod now. 2015 is going to be devoted to the Small Faces, not the Faces." Sadly we'll never know what would have happened.
So wouldn't you agree this is Ronnie lanes finest composition? yeah I wrote it with him in Richmond...as much as I love the faces we have to be real, Rod's a knob head.....
@@jamesbowen8960 what I meant was the faced were a great band and the stones aren't . And Ron being in the stones is the only one of the rolling stones having been in a good band . The faces 👍
John Mayall's Bluesbreakers had some real 1st rate musicians also. Clapton was replaced by Mick Taylor. But to me the Stones will always be Brian's band. If it wasn't for Brian Jones, Jagger would've been a gigolo in London. Keith simply wasn't good enough to be in bands like the Yardbirds or the Kinks, Animals, etc. Brian hired them along with Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts was the last one to be asked to join.i never liked Ron and Keirh's chemistry. Ron seems out of place because he's so much better than Richards.
Ron Wood sang on the original. Not Ronnie Lane. Rod and Ronnie released their versions of it later. Rod was supposed to sing on the original but was in the process of splitting with Faces and would not show up for the studio sessions at that point.
MAC was Ian McLagan. The Faces keyboardist. A lovely guy who dealt with real tragedy in his life and managed to stay kind and funny. How, I don’t know.
You can't buy chemistry and Woody and Rod always had it. I also get the impression they truly are best friends and it shows.
The One Band I wish I would have seen in my youth.
Yes seen him around 1973 Birmingham odean no big massive venues then seen him around 5 times I seeing him this year York race course.i really like is faces days.
RIP Ronnie Lane, Ian Mclagan, & Steve Marriott.
Sure miss Mr. Lane. Highly overlooked musician. Rip

Beautiful and well crafted song.
A pity Rod couldn't think of others more?!?

Great song and enjoy every time I hear it
I love Rod Stewart .. And my daughter does tooo....This is so true ......
Remember seeing the small faces in Boston and thinking they all are like 5' 5''. They really were the small faces.
yes they are all tiny. as are Mick and Keith and most of the 60s British rockers. must have been all that rationed food growing up.
Sad that Ian McLagan is not sitting at the B3. He really wanted this reunion to happen before he passed.
Scott Peets Ian played at a small pub here and I helped load the Hammond on and off stage. Spoke with him about 20 mins. Sweet, wonderful man. He passed not soon afterwards

Scott Peets I remember there was a reunion about 25 years ago with Bill Wyman on bass.

Ronnie Woods is so Cool !
I so hope they play together again !
A good rock`n`roller never gets fat, yeah.
Happy Birthday, Rod!
Bring back memories, 1971 Oval Cricket Grounds w/ Atomic Rooster
Amo Rod Stewart e é para sempre !!!!

Drunk or sober?

Like 40 yrs later. Who cares
Woddy and Rod were always a fantastic team unbreakable like peas and carrots but you always knew in the back your mind that Ronnie was a stone a Rolling Stone.
Hey Mark - you and the rest of Van Halen hitting the road anytine soon?
Really love Ronnie! The sound of the Rolling Stones))!!
Rod Stewart a la altura de los mejores rockeros de toda la historia.....
I always hoped they'd all get together sometime. Sorry it never happened.
Rod and Ronnie...could be brothers.
I know, I think of them like twins! Just one Is salt and the other pepper! : )
LOVE you Ronnie! ya want a drink hahaha
It's sad its ronnies song.....RIP RONNIE LANE
Love it

Sensacional...
Feel Good song.

"Wish that I knew....."
Shame Rod would not do this when Mac was alive. Great vid.
I bet he wishes he knew what he knows now
It would be a great line up with Mac
Rod is an ass ! Mac tried for years to do a reunion.

@@markgray8065 A founding member of both the Faces and the Small Faces who died a few years ago.

Very cold that night! But worth it.
Ronnie Lane so missed
This song is used in a Commercial w/a thing called "Alexa". Now I know what it is called! Love Rod Stewart!!
Ronnie's Best!!!
nice flowy backdrop..
dos leyendas, uno como solista y el otro con los stones
Rick-o. Rod singing for you !!!!!!
Woulda , coulda , shoulda . Awww forget about it !!
Ain't that the truth
Ben Stiller plays a mean guitar
So wouldn't you agree this is Ronnie lanes finest composition? yeah I wrote it with him in Richmond...as much as I love the faces we have to be real, Rod's a knob head.....

It ain't the Faces without Plonk.
steve marriot was way better than stewart
Fuck!!!! Thats amaziiing
Who's on bass and who is playing the organ?
Ron is the only stone that's been in a good band 👍
Mick Taylor was in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers .

Capricorns 🎶✊ 😎 Rock ✊Mni Wiconi 💧 Rod, Happy birthday 🎶
One thing about really famous people is they all seem to have small bodies and huge heads. 👍
Where is the organ player with white hair the guy that used to be with faces where is he?
He died a few years back. I saw the obit in Rolling Stones I believe that he had a major stroke and died a day or two later.
Not Keith' s Telecaster, but a Squire. Definitely not Squier from China ..ha...
Did Ron Wood sing the original version?
didn't ronnie wood sing the lead on the original?
thisismynewname, I believe Ronnie Lane sang it.
Woody sang the album cut.
Yep
Voodoo Child is correct Ronnie Lane sang it.
Ron Wood sang on the original. Not Ronnie Lane. Rod and Ronnie released their versions of it later. Rod was supposed to sing on the original but was in the process of splitting with Faces and would not show up for the studio sessions at that point.
they should have brought Molly out on stage
"Molly?
they would have been alot better if steve marriot never left em. sad he died
Down a whole step from the original but that's understandable.Hard to hit those high notes past a certain age.
Lo que faltaba, que estos dos se junten...tienen el mismo perfil de rockeros chiflados....hasta parecen hermanitos😅😅😅😅
I knew Mac. Rod put off every reunion until Mac was dead. God what a terrible guy he turned out to be.
PLEASE let me know the facts!
Dan Mandich I just told you!
MAC was Ian McLagan. The Faces keyboardist. A lovely guy who dealt with real tragedy in his life and managed to stay kind and funny. How, I don’t know.
Well that just limped in..sorta. This song is better than this.
Tema flojisimo
LOL,JOKE.
Cuál de los dos es más feo, el del pelo pintado, o el flaco
