I wanted to watch this just to see the Faces play with Keith Richards, but was blown away at how good it actually was. Rod Stewart is a great soul and blues singer, and Ron Wood plays with so much feeling. Happily in 2021 all three are still playing to audiences.
Everryone is putting their heart and soul into it and creamed it . . .
Not bad. Rod has a soulful voice, that's for sure. They are connecting with something deep. I am not sure Rod needed to twirl the mike stand around like a baton...the song stands on its own merit for being great. The shtick almost detracts but since it's Rod, he can get away with it. Keith looks the part, Ronnie looks a little affected with his grimacing but plays some soulfully awesome notes.
You said it brother..... Was completely blown away
Just saw Rod in Cincy on July 12 2022...at 73 still puts on one hell of a show and despite a cold, he still can rock the crowd or give goosebumps. He can literally sing anything and make it sound great!!!
@@dianeward5405 sorry I think Rod’s twirling of his mic stand was impressive as hell. The butt shots I could totally do w/o Lol And Ronnie’s grimacing is just his style- as w/many guitar geniuses :)
One of those rare performances that you never get tired of listening to, you just wished you had been there live.
the Faces with Rod Stewart Live, what a treat. Love this music but I am 71 now still enjoying it just as in the 60s.
I’m 71 also and remember when I was 16 at a Yardbirds concert just after they broke up and Page formed Led Zep, Jeff Beck came out and said, “I’d like to introduce our new lead singer, MR. Rod Stewart”! History, it was a $2.50 concert(1968)
I'm 74 glad I was around then just fantastic
He sang this in Belfast (northern Ireland) Xmas 🌲 December 2022. What a show ☘️🎶🎵
I thank God every day that he gave me my life (1951) and I was a young one in that most important and joyful time when the great musicans made their song and we could listen , dance and love with. Keep healthy all of you and stay cool.
The Faces were just the greatest band ever to me. This is proof of how friggin great Rod Stewart was....dude could sing and this band could just rip. Seen some bar footage that was unbelievably raw and rockin.
I'm so fortunate my Father introduced me to this music!.. Thanks Dad !🙏 I love and miss you!
Lucky you! Bless your Dad!
Excellent crying blues playing by Keith and Ronnie . Rod is the best blues singer
So grateful to stumble across this video clip. Having seen the Faces back in the early 70s, I was reminded of what a great performer and showman Rod Stewart was . . . not to mention the musicianship of the rest of the band members! So good to hear those white kids playing the blues so well.
I just saw Rod Stewart in Pittsburgh this past August. He did this song. It was Great! I do love him with the Faces the most. ❤
Much better performer than most give him credit for. I saw him back in the early nineties at a smaller venue with Tina Turner and was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with just how great of performers both them actually were.
@@howardjohnson6189 yes, he’s good. He engages with the audience. It was the first time I saw him.
His crowning achievement was Truth with Jeff Beck
The faces are one of my top 5 bands of all time missing Ronnie lane
Big fan Of Ronnie Wood much respect.
Reminds me of my dad,he absolutely loved Rod Stewart, especially when he was in the faces,he passed away in march,he had gasoline alley at his funeral,I Miss him.
My dad was a big fan of rod Stewart and the faces as well and also of Keith Richards and Ron wood he was crazy for teh stones . Keith was his who I was going to be named after parents weee sure I was gonna be a boy lol needless to say Keith for a girl name wasn’t hittin but lol the intention is pretty dope in my opinion rip to our badass rock and roll loving dads. Gasoline alley was a fave of my pops too 💯💯💯🙌🏼
My wife and I were talking about what we would like played at our funerals. We have been to a few lately that were so down and maudlin. She will have Motown and Sly. Mine may have some of that, but definitely SRV and Little Feat. But Rod and some Faces are definitely in the mix. This is amazing.
@@laurieso678 that's awesome, great taste 👍✌️
@@mongoardath1 good choices, little feat 1 of the biggest under rated bands ever, my dad got me into them too, about weeks before he went I'll we were watching a Lowell George doc on prime &willin come on, I didn't know he loved it so much, that too reminds me of him now, strange that lol 👍✌️
My dad died of lung cancer the year before this video was made age 41 (I was 7) so be thankful you had him at least for so long.
This was Rod Stewart at his best. His singing is raw and powerful. The last time I saw him, in person was about ten or eleven years ago at a small venue in Pennsylvania He sounded great singing his hits, but I wish he had performed this song.
Everyone here gives the credits to Keith and Ron, but it would have been nothing without the amazing Hammond B3 accompaniment from Ian McLagan. This really carries the song!
Absolutely bloody bang on mate. A wonderful song, great players, a stunning bit of Hammond. And a wonderful vocal from Rod! What's there nor to like?
yes..RIP Mac
Hell Yes!!
Loop
I agree
All I can say regarding this tape is,,,,, What amazing talent Rod and Ronnie have Omg! That song ,,,,,I'd rather go blind ,,,,came out perfectly. It is awesome! Thanks for sharing❤
The Faces came around Oakland about once a year back in the early '70s. Saw them a lot. They never disappointed. Great band.
Wow that voice. I was lucky enough to see them play a few times in Glasgow. Loved them. ❤️ - Frances
yea right ok yep hmmmmmm.....i have noticed a trend...when somebody says " I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH"....they are simply lying......yep
The Faces...the most underrated and unappreciated band . Simply awesome
Small/Faces ? 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Let’s not forget Steve Marriott!
@@rlms56 That was my thoughts when i posted ,only those who know would think that way 👍👍✌✌🇬🇧🇬🇧
Not at all. Who says so?
The Faces were bigger than The Stones in the early 70s.
Wow - what a performance. Each of the band is incredible
Это вокальное -инструментальное трио за высшими пределами звука и мастерства!!!❤❤❤
Песня "Лучше бы я ослеп" выдающаяся, а в этом исполнении вообще на разрыв аорты!!!!👍✌💯💔💥🔥
Damn! Ronnie and Keith are still fabulous together. Wish Rod still recorded music like this…
What a pretty and most fascinating woman ,hello ,my darling ?
What the F happened to music ????
Compare todays crapola to the soul, musicianship and talent of these guys and the musicians of the 60s and 70s and its really amazing how far we have fallen!
Same feeling.

The great guitarists feel the chords, notes in their soul. Their expression is symbolic of this energy.
Glad I stumbled upon this clip. Interesting that Ron Wood joined the Stones a year later (1975).
Best hair in rock and roll from these lads😁😎
Yes I agree ☝️ I could only wish my hair would look like that 😊
When you come across gems like this, a really tight band, great guitar playing, vocals with emotion and you realise that it was all done live over 40 years ago........it simply confirms that so much of today's music is absolute and utter shite and would never have even got a look in when there were great musicians who can really play.
I'm so glad that I was born in the greatest era for music

The Last of a Dying Breed
Fantastic rendition of a truly great song, brings tears to my eyes, for a lost love and the good old days of the 70’s.
Hello Julene...
you mean the day when musicians could write well, play guitar well, and feel their music...yeah, this is great.
Oh yeah
Yes thank you
These guys did wright some great songs, just not this one.
That's what Tool does
@@peach495 your not wrong ha
Fabulous version of this song…..
Can't help but wonder how many times the Faces got clobbered by a twirling mike stand!!
That aside, a blistering version of this song. Just jaw droppingly great.🤩
😁 it is Great!
only Rod Stewart could sing this song with so much passion I luv it
The Faces are amazing but Keith Richards with them on stage playing is just the icing on the cake 🎂. Keith you are truly brilliant 🎉🎉. Rod your vocals are beyond stellar 🎉🎉. This person is priceless 🎉🎉
Porque no hay más grupos como estos en este decaído siglo..XXI ...???
Rod could turn the mic stand into a lethal weapon with a flick of his wrist! Amazing performances...
Great bands from that era. These guys are the reason this music will always be loved. 1960s-1980s
Yes, Yes, Yes, Absolutely!!!
SINA Döring (25) = sina-drums liebt auch die Musik der 60'er bis 80'er Jahre und kann an ihren Drums mithalten !
Could be my favorite song. Ronnie makes my heart cry
I'd forgotten how good Rod Stewart was when he was with Faces...They all sound so good here and do this song justice. Nice upload. Thanks for the share :)
I was lucky enough to catch their final tour. It was totally worth it!
@@daveguitarnowski4402 Lucky you!
I saw them at Eagles Auditorium in Seattle back in 1969 for $3.00. My favorite song they played was Handbags and Gladrags! MASSIVE CHILLS! I saw so many great bands at Eagles and all the shows cost pennies! Music at its best then!
@@normadailey7953 $3.00 in '69? I believe it. I went to a lot of concerts in NY in the '70s, and it didn't cost much more than that. I agree, music was at its best in the 60s and 70s!
This was really good. Really really good.
Never saw this - soooo glad I just did!! Fantastic - I wanna go back!!
Next year will mark HALF A CENTURY SINCE THIS MASTERPIECE WAS RECORDED…we need to all be thankful we are still alive to hear it played like it was just yesterday.
1974 FACES WITH KEITH RICHARD. .......ID RATHER GO BLIND. LOVE THIS.
Hello Kay, How are you doing?
I'm so glad I grew up listening to this music. So sad it's gone down hill since then. Love Rod and the Faces!
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤 love this
I think I saw The Faces on this Tour - 1974. Lewisham Odeon. I was a month off my 14th birthday. My first ever Gig...can you imagine that?!
I adored them all: my first proper schoolgirl crush was the whole Band!😍. No Osmonds/Bay City Rollers for me: too 'girly'. Besides I had older sisters & a brother who all loved everything from Elvis, Mowtown to Ska and even Traffic. Safe to say I've still got a very eclectic taste in music!
First saw Rod & The Faces on TOTP when I was 11, miming to 'Maggie May' with John Peel on mandolin. Cheeky Chapies, kicking a ball around on stage, having a right laugh. Little did I know they were all probably pi$$Ed up and off their nut on Coke! So rock & roll 😆
Always preferred good time rock n roll. I loved the distinctive guitar sound of The Faces. As for Rod, well what a frontsman!
Personally love the very early Rod stuff, and all of The Faces albums. After 'Smiler', when Rod met Britt and waltzed off to America, I lost interest: too poppy for me by then.
So getting my Faces fix on CZcams is brilliant. Makes a 63 y/o Nan feel like a schoolgirl again...mainly because I can remember all the words from their songs!! Great Times x
The Faces are up there with the best bands of all time.!
Absolutely brilliant, I can't believe how long ago it was and I can still 'feel' it.
I grew up with 3 elder siblings & was exposed to loads of different stuff . But the ones that gave me youthful goosebumps were The Stones & The Faces . When Rod Stewart sounds this good I forgive him some ' wardrobe ' disasters ! Ronnie Wood too . Fantastic band !
Rod, Ronnie & Keith it's all so Beautiful
The best band ever for sur Rod’s voice so raw and full of the Blues and hello with woods and Richard OMG!
What a great version. Rod at his very best and the band.............well the Faces.....enough said.....superb honest music.
Beautiful, chunky guitar 🎸 tones - and a little bit ‘dirty', too! Tight band. Great stuff ✌🏻😀.
Solo 2 millones de visitas? .Tendria que tener 20.000 millones Ronnie brutal .
Oh those where the days so thankful I'm an old fart now and got to see so many of the great ones.
This was such a fine performance. Thank you Ronnie & Keith for the guitar treats.
Before the rolling stones ruined them
@@thomasmarino4598 Keith was already a druggy well before 74.
English rock stars of the 70’s...no one matches today.
Tony Gutierrez , British rock stars u mean
Hey Tony,
The Quireboys do.
I'd rather see Iggy Pop than the Stones any day. Both are favorites of mine, but I've never paid more than 25 bucks to see Iggy, have twice caught him doing stage dives, and over a dozen times managed to get in the front row, center to watch him and his band, instead of watching TV like most end up doing at an overpriced Stones concert in some stupid football stadium.
True but there was great American rock and Blues stars too. It was a great time to be alive, incredible bands from both sides of the pond.
@Basfordiron I'll see your Elton John and raise you Stevie Wonder - no contest.
We have Aretha you have Adele - no contest.
Besides Aretha and Stevie, you have no one to top Iggy Pop, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, James Brown, Michael Jackson, George Clinton, Lou Reed, Miles Davis, Sly Stone, Bob Dylan, Al Green, B.B. King, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday, Lester Flatt, Ralph Stanley, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Hank Williams, Muddy Waters or Prince.
I believe you said something about variety?
Ever notice you guys copy us and our music but we don't copy you and your music?
I don't think you have anyone to compare to this guy, either:

Some of your performers do good songs in an American genre of music - but remember, it came from over here, baby. Blues, rock, jazz, country, R&B, zydeco, bluegrass - even ska was invented here and the great musical meccas of the last 80 years are here in Memphis, Detroit, Nashville and New Orleans.
I. was at the ole mans house. late. one night,. thinking about. good days gone by,. when BBC footage from a. early 70,s. show, I. was fucked up, but. it was one Of the. best shows ever,. I,ll. never forget. it,. it. brought. tears to my. eyes.
Faces is where I seen Rod Stewart.
And all of the band,
'I don't know why Rod Stewart left,
This were one of the best back in
the Day, The first time I ever seen Rod's Daughter Ruby Stewart.
It brought back memories of Rod Stewart and the faces because she's his twin when he was younger,
And still is,
'I'll never forget the Faces! Lot of memories!!
Ron Wood's solo is simply exquisite. Lyrical and delicate.
I love how there is not the prolonged sustain of today. But after perfect phrasing the sustain fades into air and becomes silent.
If there were ever a perfect solo...
This is it
Love , love, LOVE Rod's voice!
The single C. Shack - I'd Rather Go Blind, I got in 2023. I received it as a gift, but without the single cover.
Legends never fade away only sail into the sunset
Ronnie Wood is one of the most underrated guitarist’s around. Just knows what to put in and never overplay’s it. .
Rod Stewart and Lynyrd Skynyrd, San Diego, Balboa Stadium (since demolished) 1975. Tickets were 7 bucks.
Im so grateful that , I was able to have seen a show from that Tour !!!! and all ways GRATE too See KIETH WITH A LESS PAUL JUNIOR!!!!
What a great time to be alive. Absolutely great!
Thanks for sharing
Sir Rod always exits the stage to give way to the other artists♥️♥️👍

Really good!! This is when music 🎶 was true music 🎶!!!
The past is today again , smiles upon those rockers faces again ....
For those interested: entire concert Faces with Keith(74) on You Tube too. I believe this is when Keith discovered that weaving went really well with Ronnie.
I thought it was because Ronnie looked like him
Worst thing Ronnie did for his musical/artistic career was join Stones. Somehow he plays better guitar in Faces.???
Well, it IS probably slightly harder to stand out with Keith playing next to you. However I believe Ronnie is doing great with the Stones and he was doing great with the Faces. I am still very happy he joined my favourite band.
And he emloyes him to this day
I agree and I'm happy for that too and he has had a fantastic career, without the stones ge might have been forgotten too, happens to many great musicians you never know what happens.
Sure that guitar weawing that goes so well with Keith may have made some people to not think that much of him than if he had played in another band but still I don't think he would be where he is without Rolling Stones. I think too that he's a big part of that Rolling Stones can still keep on performing, I think Keith is extremely happy to have him there as he loves to play and perform.
Wow - a really nice guitar duet (not duel) by Keith and Ronnie at the end. It looks improvised, and it works magically!
SHADES OF THINGS TO COME!!!
en 2023 on ecoute toujours the faces. the best rock band with Keith
Roddy mixed so well with a number of top drawer musicians that we may not to get see/hear examples of their chemistry. One other session is worthy of noting here Stewart on vocals ,Peter Green on guitar,Cozy Powell at the kit and Jack Bruce on bass.it's astonishingly good as well.
Some super tight mic stand twirling, dropping to the knees....on the beat! Ha! Amazing performance....while singing a fantastic blues number. Talent 🤘🏻
Aaah where Freddy Mercury got it!! Yeah!
Wow. Just wow. Legends.
Ohhhhh, my God!!!! Does not get better than this. Ronnie deserves so much more credit than he has ever gotten.
Well, the Stones hired him to replace Taylor, so that’s certainly giving due credit!
I saw the Faces a few times in the early '70s...never saw so many people with smiles on faces after a concert...they gave everybody a real good time!
Man, Ron and Keith are feeling the music. Beautiful!
You were there fucker don't ya
Greatest time for Rod and The Faces!
Great vocals and soulful playing miss ronnie lane rip ronnie
Incredible Blues
THE GOOD OLD DAYS
my favorite singer... don't even know why, his voice comes from under my skin!... look at how he's got to stay away from the microphone when he sings out loud because his voice is SO powerful!
Absolutely
I did think the same thing.
Id rather go blind la più bella versione di tutti i tempi
Feras do!!!🥰💥💫💯💯💯🤘🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very, very enjoyable. Also nice to hear how much Rod's singing and phrasing reminds of Steve Marriott.
Apples and Oranges. I loved the small faces, but Rod Stewarts blues is a whole new ball game.
@@christinelewis6179 How about Humble Pie? When I think of Marriott, I think of Humble Pie.
The Small Faces were the best, I went to one of there concerts they were amazing
Wow! What a beautiful voice rod has!
Probably my favorite Etta James number --- thanks lads!
Всего лишь 46 лет разделяет 1974 - 2020 год!!! Это конечно супер!!! Славные ребята!!! Очень много сделали в этой жизни!!! Обожаю Род Стюарта!!!
Thank you so much for putting that out there from the bottom of my heart. Wow, such talent playing together.
I’m not sure who else noted it but at 1.15 into it take a look at Rod Stewart‘s reaction to the off note on the guitar. It stopped Rod in his tracks as he was about to sing that last note, and instead, he turned around and looked at the band.
I have always respected Rod Stewart’s goal to be his best where his fans are concerned.
I surely saw that. He got stepped on by a guitar and didn't appear to like it. Ronnie wood smiled. He was never anything other then Rod's equal. At least in my mind.
Rod looks so cool with his spike hairstyle and Groovy 70s clothes!
He always has been a flash dresser!

God he's beautiful. Love to see these old Faces performances. This is actually some of the best blues guitar I've seen
You've obviously not looked in the right places.
He was beautiful, wasn't he! I have always especially loved his lips and teeth. ❤

Keith Richards... Heaven on earth!❤
I saw Rod and the Faces in 1971 and it was fantastic! The Faces were a really good band. I'm a particular fan of Ian McLagan. What a great time to listen to live music.🥰
