S2000 = Scotty 2000!
Hello Scotty how do I solve a P1589(acceleration learning value)code on my 2010 Toyota Vitz car .

Hi scotty is hyundai santafe 2011 a good suv?
Scotty just added $5k to the resale value of all s2000.
Thesr are already appreciating even the early pre refresh models
Yeah, thanks Scotty!
Maybe I should sell mine....
Slick Daddy up to you, it’s still a great car.
Nah, they were already on the way up, regardless.

Glad to hear that have you put some mods on?

If you never owned an S2000, you really wont understand how incredible the driving feel is. Better than any other car I’ve ever driven, I’ll never get rid of mine!
Did u ever try a boxster s h6 manual ? Its much more fun than the s2000
Bafmonx...When I was testing my s2k, i found it boring. Then when I learned how to drive it, I must say its truly a unique experience.

Smart man. Waited 15+ years to get mine, I’ve had it for a year and legit NEVER plan to sell it.
In the words of Shigeru Uehara, S2000 Chief Engineer:
"Please take good care of your S2000, keep it by your side for long and enjoy it from the bottom of your heart. And share the quality and legacy of the S2000 with many friends so that the legend of the S2000 will continue for long. "
And you can tell he meant it with a naturally aspirated engine. Total reliability. No turbo crap.
Will do sir! That's why I started an Instagram page for the car.

I hope they bring the S2000 back in 2025 so I can get one for my mid-life crisis. My side chick will love it too!
Honda S2025
Or buy a old one that would probably be more fun then a new one
They might bring it back around 2030 as a hybrid or full electric car.
I'm having a midlife crisis at 27. I can't imagine having one at 40.
Then you'll lose it in the divorce settlement, lol!
As the original owner of a 2001 S2000 (AP1), the very first Spa Yellow model sold in Palm Beach County, I have to admit that this is my favorite video of yours. As usual, you are right on the money in your expert description of the S2000's value and worth. I can't tell you how many offers I've received to buy my car through the last 19 years. It has 135,000 miles on it and it still runs as good as the first day I bought it (with only 24 miles on the odo). I still get a thrill revving the engine all the way up to 9,000 RPM as I merge unto I-95. (Can't do that in the AP2s). While Honda sold it, it was actually built by Acura on their NSX assembly line. It was supposed to be Acura's junior NSX for the younger generation. They literally stopped production of the NSX in order to manufacture the S2000. In the late 1990s Honda realized that their 50th Anniversary was coming up in 2000 and that they had no new car to mark the special occasion. So, they took Acura's baby away from them and sold it as a Honda. But, the S2000 is actually a mini NSX, with all the components of a race car (right down to their aluminum pedals). It has the shortest, smoothest shifter ever made. The space between 2nd and 3rd gear is less than 2.5 inches. (I also owned a 1990 Mazda Miata for 10 years and I can tell you that the S2000 is just like a Miata on steroids.) Thanks for the great review of a soon-to-be classic sports car.
My colleague had an S2000. His wife complained, “It’s not practical!” He replied, “Neither was marrying you, but I did it.” I wonder if they’re still married?
One thing for sure the S2000 is a lot cheaper to maintain lol only need oil change

@@unfairsanic5089 Amateur drivers? So a transmission makes you more skilled?? Most people born before 1990 learned on a car with a manual transmission and it was no big deal. Its just technology. Does using a/c and having power windows make one an amateur too? What about hand cranking? That takes much more effort than pushing a button or turning a key....or what about power steering? People are solo amateurs if they use power steering. Its funny because more often than not its younger millennials that think there is some special skill in pushing in a clutch and shifting gears. Back in the 80s and early 90s, yes manual transmissions were much better and more fuel efficient....but its not 1986 anymore, Larry Bird isn't in the NBA and automatics are better than standard transmissions now.
@@jdigitalseven7 better? How? Autos are more expensive, less reliable and less fun.

I did my capstone project for college on why Honda needs to bring the S2000 back.
In short: Just revive the frickin’ S2K already.
Honda rewards the people depending on how the economy is doing. So bad economy means no S2k.
A big percentage of the population doesn’t know how to drive standard they’ll never know the feeling of the pull acceleration slapping those gears Downshifting. amazing feeling
@pete w I think its the other way around 96% of Americans drive automatics. The rest of the world is more accustomed to driving manual due to certain countries not being developed as much as the U.S

Bro, and it’s stock... hard to find stock S2Ks
Yep, This is the reason I'm keeping mine stock. I drive it when I want to and still watch the value climb from when I bought it 2 years old in '09.
Just mod it tastefully and keep the Oem parts. Switch it back before you sell and sell off the mods. But If you FI it then You should sell it that way.
Fifthcell they’re out there but you’re gonna pay 🙈
@@danlaclair01 Nah these should be kept stock... enough of all this modding nonsense lol. I've been there and done that. We've seen enough hypergram wheels, CAI's, splitters, spoilers, carbon fiber mirrors... it's overrated and you'll get over it as you get older and you'll realize stock is the way to go on especially appreciating sports cars.
Lunch On The Hood, I hear ya. I would never rice it out, but adding CIA and a nice exhaust that’s not obnoxious, Some Ohlins coilovers, possible brake upgrade are all solid mods. Not to mention these cars are getting old and new OEM springs and struts cost a fortune. Mine as well upgrade em for the same price.

I'm happy with the Miata, but I can only imagine how cool the Honda S2000 would have been if they kept building them!
They are still cool. I sold my 2006 S2000 because of major engine issues.
I bought a 2019 MX5 club a yr later. Like the car, but I should have bought a low mile AP2 instead.
Sadly, at 6'1 I fit wonderfully in an S2000 but have looked over the top of the windshield of every model of Miata.
Miatas are great but aren't made for anyone taller than 5'9 or so.

As much as I like the S2K if it stayed around without a redesign it would have gotten outshined by newer cars kinda like the NSX that withered on the vine until 2002?
@@CRAPO2011 The NSX was always meant to be a high tech sports car; the S2K was the opposite, a good RWD roadster.
The S2K could have remained in production until now occupying the same market niche, the only updates needed would have been to update the stereo to provide smartphone integration and to redo the now dated-looking electronic dash.

Nicholas Braun too bad it didn’t come with a hardtop like Miata did 😞
Jimmy Sapien True, I wish it did, but given how small the trunk already is, a hardtop would virtually eliminate it in an S2k.

Toyota: Look at this awesome supra!
Honda: You mean BMW?

Toyota never built sports cars per say, the always used tech from other companies eg Subaru, Yamaha etc and now BMW for their sportier cars. Honda NEVER use other manufacturers engines in their sports cars...cause? Honda engines...the most reliable engines by far.

I bought a S2000 blk/blk new in 2001. It was one of the coolest cars at the time. I had it for about a year and got rear ended, fixed it and sold it.
What I liked...supper smooth engine and gearbox. Nice ride for a sports car. The only things I didn't care for was lack of low end torque and the rear would easily step out when driving in the rain. On a dry track the car was a blast. The latter could have probably been fixed with different tires and suspension tweaks. The lack of bottom end torque was addressed by increasing the displacement from 2.0 t0 2.2 in 2004 but the red line was also lowered to 8000.
Great video Scotty! My son just picked up an S2K two weeks ago and couldn’t be happier!
Make sure he only buys the stickiest tires he can afford as the S2000 tends to fishtail if turned too sharply into corners. Most accidents in this car are usually due to the back end breaking free in corners. The OEM tires were Bridgestone Potenza S-02s and they were rated at a very low 140 treadwear. With those tires my S2000 tracked like a train on a rail.
Superior Delivery I believe he has the OEM tires on the car. It handles incredibly well. He has an AP2 which apparently is a little more tame than the first generation. Thanks for looking out!
I have 20+ cars in my collection and by far my S2000 is my funest of them all. Thank you Scotty for making the prices going up just that much more ;-)

Looked at these last year. Day late dollar short. Hard to find one under $25k now.

@@CM_UAV Where I live these Honda's go for a good $13,000 and up (AZ. )

Scotty the 89' Dodge Daytona with the Shelby Turbo was the funnest car I have ever owned! My brother owned a 91' with the v6 and we used to race! PLEASE DO A VIDEO on the Dodge Daytona!
I'm in love. I don't think I've ever seen a Honda S 2000 in person. I was looking out the window when you said it had a V Tech engine, that grabbed my attention. I thought you said it had a V 10 engine. I'd love to have one of those. The standard transmission isn't a problem, I learned to drive in my Dad's 64 Ford F 100 with a standard. I've had several vehicles with standards since.
I never saw one in person either but that didn't stop me from buying a one way ticket to pick one up 2k miles away. It was exactly what I imagined, is awesome car!
Thats been my dream car for a long time Scotty! I finally saw one in real life 2 weeks ago but I didn't get a ride 🙁
Would love one, value already so high though
one day...
@@scottykilmer hopefully :)
@@bandit6918 yeah, best prices I've seen are almost 10 grand for a decent one
Great car and it’s Manual !
"Starts right up cause its a honda" his toyota Celica ran him over after this vid
That sounds good Scotty!!GREAT VIDEO Thanks William Orange county, ca.
Man I'm so happy for you Scotty your channels jamming brother
Sadly, it's already too late.
Best manual transmission ever put in a car.
I own two currently and owned another several years ago. It's the second best. 5th Gen Viper trans is a bit better.
@Bryce Czirr Haha, I had an FG2 for a few years, not even close. A good gearbox for sure, but not in the same league.
@Bryce Czirr That's because Honda started tuning in a power dip just before VTEC crossover. My 2008 Si felt like more of a punch during VTEC, but it was just artificial.
@6:50 scotty became 40 yrs younger and his name was scotty too hotty
I bought a 2004 GPW S2000 just like this one last weekend. I love it!
Scotty, if you like this you'll probably love the 2006 Pontiac GTO, it's rear-wheel drive, and the sound from the exhaust is music to the ears for a petrol head. 😁😋
Love these cars
I could tell you were having fun when you laughed at 7:10 Thank you Scotty!
Thank you Scotty for making a S2K video and appreciation !
that is the best engine sound i ever heard in youtube, it definitely gave me a smile
Absolute Japanese Masterpiece! One of the best cars ever built!
This video motivated me to buy an S2000. Now i finally have my own as of a few months ago! I also work on it myself, its a pain but very cool to have the privilege to work on my dream car. Thanks for the videos Scotty! Keep 'em up!
I've owned my 2007 in Silverstone since 2009 and agree with everything Scotty said. He didn't mention the shifting, it's among the best of any car ever. Tried a Porsche of the same vintage and couldn't get out of it fast enough. Will enjoy my S2000 for as long as I drive.
Why am I so excited for Scotty to review an S2000? Oh yeah cause I got one! Love you Scotty!
I always love these cars but their price range is out of my budget.I hope I can get one before it's too late, I prefer them over the Madza
Just turbo an old miata and go have fun with it! Much better than Honda Civics.
@@applepoop10 ever considered a career in comedy...that was a cracking joke son
I don't think I've seen Scotty get this excited before. It's contagious!
Sweet ride. Also the old NSX was a car ahead of its time👍
We always referred to the Mazda Miata as a "hairdresser car" because we always saw them outside of women's hairdresser shops.
I came close to buying one, but didn't. Now I'm kickin' myself.
Same.... Bugger
I was so close to leave . Thing is i was 300 miles away from airport and no backup plan. Now i am happy i bought it
I've owned an E46 M3, E92 M3 and a 96 MR2, they were very good cars and put a smile on my face each time I drove them. That said none of them gave me me the sense of excitement and connection to the car as my S2000 does. The E92 M3 is an amazing car but is very heavy thus I had to do sketchy speeds to have fun, the light S2000 with its 9k redline allows me to thoroughly enjoy a backroad rowing through the gears and I don't have to be doing triple digits to enjoy myself. The S2000 is simply incredible!
Scotty just drove the hell out of this thing!!! I enjoyed some pulls through a few gears there... wow what a car!
