Because for me, sometimes I just need a bit of Sin Kiske action in my life, even after Guilty Gear Strive has been out for so long. Today we are botting up Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator 2 for the first time since Strive has been released, and see if this game holds up!

Man, I love how Xrd feels over Strive. Xrd's UI just feels so much more metal, which is how it should be. It also adds more personality to each character. Notice how in Strive, everyone's roman cancels look the same with the exception of Jack'O (who kept her exact animation) and technically Faust (Dude's roman cancel is just his limbs bending in funny places but still the same movement as everyone else). Everyone's roman cancel is just bring arms and legs in then out. And everyone in Xrd had a special end of match dialouge for every single character with Elphelt being a fricking meme. Just look at Ramlethal's roman cancel. She looks all feral and agressive while in Strive she just has a generic RC.
Not to mention gameplay having lots of depth and actually feels rewarding to play this game

I personally prefer the simper UI, it makes the game look a lot cleaner. The game still has its metal aspects(with the main of course being the soundtrack)

If I remember correctly it was answered in an interview it has to do with him accepting the fact that he killed people when he was Dr.Baldhead
@@sirphobos4243 late to the party but imo that's a flaw in the writing because his whole character arc as a post-baldhead faust is literally accepting his sins and devoting himself to the redemption through helping everyone (and even sparing Zato when he had a chance to end him which could be considered the pinnacle of his arc)
as much as strive has helped guilty gear when it came to bringing in a bigger audience, nothing beats the fast and awesome fun that xrd had

Strive is my first fighting game but I recently tried playing rev 2 and was having an absolute blast. If it wasn't for the delay frames I would actually dedicate more time to it than strive tbh

I do think this game could really do with a sound effect overhaul, i get that they're legacy sounds but the fidelity of them just doesn't match the rest of the game's presentation, it sounds tinny to me

Got into this game a month or two ago and I've been loving it. Joining a Discord for this game was also a great decision
as someone who uses the dash macro in strive, its hard to play this game, but hopefully I can used to it.
Takes time but I believe if u can survive rams pressure and survive this long you can do anything in the world
Legacy Fighting games just have that extra something I still can't find in newer Fighting games. As much as I love Strive, Rev2 and Central Fiction will always be my BnB (or should I say Jam).
We all have that special treasure that we can never let go
Rev 2 aint "legacy" it is just one gen back really. I mean it was released on the console we still use at tournaments. UMVC3 however was pretty hard to deploy for a minute.

@@keithsimpson2685 I'll rephrase, the styling of gameplay for the games I mentioned are closer to a legacy styling versus newer titles. Hence why I said legacy, I use the term loosely. No real auto combos, an extensive amount of learning required, mega unique mechanics whether just game mechanics or character mechanics, and a good expanse of options.
Older fighting games were broken and more fun, while newer fighting games in an attempt to become mainstream simplified the game to become grounded footsie based like SFV.

was so happy to see Bedman in the first couple seconds, love seeing 2021 Bedman gameplay, even if he got bodied

Whatever happened to Strive's meter being some gateway to *more* creativity and options? You don't really get the time to do anything. It's like an amusement park ride that last 5 seconds. Meanwhile is Xrd, you have meter being spent constantly in single rounds. Having everything tied to 50% Tension in Strive isn't helping that poor game.

I'm happy for the amount of new players Strive brought into the fighting game community but, coming from this game, I've never felt so unsatisfied with gameplay. If it wasn't coming from a predecessor, and existed in a vacuum, it would feel decent enough on its own, but everything just feels restricted and reduced.
I'm so happy Xrd is back.

I still love to play all the characters in Xrd. The Stylish Mode makes it easy for me to enjoy playing all of 'em in offline Arcade mode.
While I love playing Strive too, I barely play the other characters other than Ky.
I'm not here to judge anyone, but the stylish mode remove all the fun from the game. You literally need to press one button, i know some motion input combos can be hard, but c'mon it's not hard to learn basic combos

I've been trying out XX Plus R with my friends and it is a lot of fun although I feel like I am being severely crippled by having no dash macro (I play on a controller joystick)

I just got the game and started playing it recently. I was wrong to diss on anime fighting games man. It’s so much fun.
Baiken being the first match here almost seems like a prophecy at this point considering she just got announced for Strive. I'm likely just attaching too much meaning to random coincidences though. Good to see Xrd content, loved the aesthetics of this game even though I understood nothing about how to play it back when it was still new~

I only ever tried Xrd to get ready for Strive. But man I think Rev 2 is the most fun I've ever had in a fighting game. While I enjoy strive a lot I doesn't bring me the pure bliss xrd does. I'm just sad I missed it in its prime. Also they better bring Sin back for strive.

Ahhh yes... the one game where I-No feels just right to me. No XX Chemical Love, no Strive's CH/Meter only restrictions... just that sweet spot. This game's pretty cool buuuutttt what could make it cooler is if Hemi Jack gained the power back that it DESERVES!

This may sound weird since I’ve only just picked up Rev 2, but Sin feels more like a strive character but better. I like Rev2 from what I’ve played, but certain parts just don’t click but Sin almost fixes all of them with how he plays.
