- This is my 2007 Volvo S80 V8 AWD with a custom exhaust. The only modification has been a straight pipe in place of the mufflers. There are new 4" stainless steel tips, which fill the exhaust cutouts perfectly.

Honestly, I didn't open it up because revs sound like garbage over about 4k rpm.

+Peter the SHO has been using the Yamaha engine since 1989. First was the real V6 then came the tame V8.

What a beauty. Gorgeous white with dark wheels and the 4.4L Yamaha V8 begs for straight pipes. Sounds similar to the 6.2L MB V8 discontinued a couple years ago. 👍🏽
This engine is derived from the 3.4 engine used in the old taurus SHO's.

Dennis Wingate ford and volvo wont admitt it,but if you sit them side by side,tear them down,the bore spacings and damn near everything except the induction is the same.

I have a 2010 Volvo S 80 turbo 6.....I like the quiet exhaust ...I removed the T 6 logo off the trunk lid......this way I can blow away some fool off the line that thinks my car is just a regular 6 cylinder and they dont know it's a turbo....I like the look on thier face cause they cant pass me.......😆😆😆

a muffler delete- which means he cut out the mufflers and replaced them with straight pipes

I know the car is sold but what mods were on it? What exhaust? Having a hard time finding one of these with low miles any tips?
Do you have any idea what the pipe diameters are all the way down the system? As far as I know its a 2.5" pipe that splits to 2" after the rear axle, but I'm not sure what it is right at the resonator when the dual resonator outputs join into the 2.5". I'm thinking of fitting 2.5" all the way back from the resonator to complete at a muffler delete with dual tips on either side, but I haven't gotten a chance to get under my S80 V8 to measure the diameters at the resonator. Nice P* emblem by the way!

Just when volvo got it right with the motors, design and reliability they stated to make these damn 2.0l crappy 4cylinder turbo hybrid motors that are garbage....

Did you delete the cars too bcs I just deleted my 2 back mufflers and resonators and made it straight pipe but it doesn't sound like that also how big are your pipes
The cats are still there. I believe the diameter of the pipe is 2.5in, if I'm not mistaken. I sold the car in April, so I really don't remember too well. Your channel profile picture looks so much like my car in the video, though. Are your wheels gunmetal-colored?

15-17mpg was about all I ever saw. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a college freshman, since maintenance can be gruesome if the car hasn't been taken care of properly.

Im a sophomore in college and I own this car. Like he said no its not great mpg but jeez is it worth it. Its my 3rd volvo and i love it. the speed and sound make up for the poor mpg. I make minimum wage and i have a car payment too. as long as you work about 24 hours a week you're fine.

Michael Garcia to be completely honest, if you're nice to it, gas mileage is comparable to the T6. i can average mid to high 20s all highway. Damn near 30 keeping it around 60 on flat terrain. For a V8 that sounds that good and makes the power it does, you'll be hard pressed to find one easier on fuel... Here's a tip, find 93 octane ethanol free gas, you'll get the best mileage out of it... E10 91 octane is generally shit fuel

They are the 18" Zubra wheels included in the sport package for the S80. I've painted them a metallic gunmetal color to nicely contrast the Ice White exterior.

It's just a straight pipe in place of the mufflers. I had a set of 5in Rounded off rectangular tips welded on, and they sit in the original cutouts perfectly. Any muffler shop can set you up.

The tips ran me $70 a piece. The total cost with labor and the 2.5in straight pipes was $225.
How much more hp has it with the polestar upgrade?
Bod Bad, the badge alone adds 16hp. The tune itself doesn’t add anything since its not Polestar tuned.
how much drone is there with this setup?
Removing the mufflers makes a HUGE difference. There's a considerable amount of drone from 40-65mph. Cruising on the interstate is quite pleasant, though. If you do this mod, I would strongly advise that you put some sound insulation in the trunk under the carpet. It will make a significant difference.

First of all, the car was a piece of shit; totally neglected by previous owners. Second of all, a muffler delete is far less intrusive than most modifications. You're just someone fishing for anything negative to say
