Robert Cuccioli as Don Quixote and Carlos Lopez as Sancho in the White Plains Performing Arts Center production of MAN OF LA MANCHA. Directed by Luke Yankee. November 2007.
Wow! I wish I had seen this production. I remember how thrilling Robert Cuccioli was in JECKYL AND HYDE (saw it twice) and I bet he was equally thrilling in MAN OF LA MANCHA. I look forward to his next NYC appearance!
Fun to watch!!! I performed this role sooooo many years ago and I'm going to reprise the opening song along with "The Impossible Dream" this Saturday at a relaxed Broadway Sing-Along at the Unitarian Universalist Church here in San Francisco. So wish me luck! I have included it in many a couple performances for seniors I do around the Bay Area, but I'm still a bit nervous since I don't have much time to prepare and I'm using CZcams to create temporary accompaniments. Thanks! Richard Fey, San Francisco
My husband performed it over 300 times. I have a VHS from 2002 recently converted to DVD. I have to watch it. He died last month. This could be brutal.
Hear me now oh thou bleak and unbearable world Thou art base and debauched as can be And a knight with his banners all bravely unfurled Now hurls down his gauntlet to thee! I am I, Don Quixote, the Lord of La Mancha My destiny calls, and I go I will march to the sound of the trumpets of glory Forever to conquer or die Hear me heathens and wizards and serpents of sin All your dastardly doings are past For a holy endeavor is now to begin And virtue shall triumph at last! I am I, Don Quixote, the Lord of La Mancha A name all the world soon will know And the wild winds of fortune will carry me onward Oh whither so ever they blow whither so ever they blow Onward to Glory I go! I am I, Don Quixote, the Lord of La Mancha A name all the world soon will know And the wild winds of fortune will carry me onward Oh whither so ever they blow Whither so ever they blow Onward to Glory I go!

I am so very sorry for your loss.

Wonderful rendition. Great voice!
I like it...
Watch the Linda Eder version of this from the Favorite Leading Ladies of Broadway concert
Great direction and choreography
I quite agree with you.
Limbus company brought me here.
Crazy? We could use many more Knights like him in our sane world.
Carlos Lopez is adorable!
Do you have anymore clips from this production? I would’ve killed to see him in this role!
Italian Sancho...lol
