I’ve been playing through this game again recently and honestly I think the MyCareer is actually pretty good it’s not super cringe like it has been sometimes. But it’s also not too serious either. But unfortunately, for some reason I can’t equip different animations, so that kind of takes some fun out of it. Also I’m pretty sure the attribute cap upgrades don’t do anything anymore.
If u gotta pc u can play mycareer wit no limitations make ur ovr and animations whatever

I know 2k17 wasn’t the best 2k, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. This is when I really got into basketball and I learned majority of my basketball knowledge at the time from playing 2k my league.

In this 2k, for animations and accessories you need servers. When you unlock the jump shot customiser, then you can customise the jumpshot but not any other animations without the servers. I didn't get this 2k during the season because I was new to it so I started playing offline mycareer as a start. Then I played online before the servers shut down. That's why I am pretty familiar with differences as they are glaring when played it before the servers shut and after. It is very tough offline though because upgrading is a damn grind and you can't just play other modes or simply buy vc to upgrade since in offline, it's all about the points from playing games/sponsors etc. And your overall caps off at 89-90 overall when you use all of your upgrade points.

This is so nostalgic I played this MyCareer mode so many times I cant even begin to tell you this was before I played online when I was really young so just seeing it again makes me happy this is my favorite 2k
2k17 was universally hated during its whole run in 2017 but once 2k18 came out people were like hey you know what 2k17 wasn't that bad lol and then the legend just kept growing year after year
Kinda sad this gonna be the last mycareer throwback cause I need Clique absolutely roasting the shit out of the unnecessary drama that was 2k19

Finally! I've recently started playing 2k17 again with a Glass Cleaner Center drafted by the wolves. Me, Justice, and Zach Lavine had been carrying the team since KAT and Wiggins got injured and both will be out for 6-8 weeks. We're halfway through the season and we're the 1 seed and obviously, I'm the frontrunner in the MVP, ROTY, DPOY, and All-Star race.

In defence of 2k17 my player was in the finals against the lakers who had d schro at pg. I hit him with an ankle breaker that nasty it gave him a season ending injury. Possibly the best play I've ever seen in any 2k game
You should do a league where you reverse the draft years. Start with 2022, and go backwards to 2021 the next year, then 2020, all the way back to 1984.

Im pretty sure animations were tied to the servers so when the servers went down the animations died too. the jumpsuit maker works when you unlock it but other animations are lost.

In NBA 2K17 MyCareer, you need VC to dominate in a center build, just have to keep turnovers in check, since opposing centers and guards will strip the ball a lot when you post-up.
