Cool I didn't know Volvo and Scania measure horsepower differently. Now i'm gonna tease all my Volvo buddies at work Scania is actually over 800hp if measured by Volvo's standards :'D

I was speaking to the driver of the volvo 750 in Preston a few weeks ago the spec on that lorry is nuts and so much power to gross out at 40ton its a stunning truck
Thats a seriously hard one to choose between the 2. 4x2 set up on full air is mint but you cant beat a twin tag with a bullbar.. both beautiful trucks

we have 73 plate Scania S560's and 73 plate Volvo FH500 both 6x4 cabs but i prefer the Volvo all day long it much quieter, smoother gear change breakes better and unlike the Scania it doesn't wallow and roll around bends

Are all late model scania hp ratings measured at the diff?
I be a big Scania fan and I agree the 770 is animal but that Volvo is no push over either to be fair
Why should HP be compared at all if one is measured from the crankshaft whereas the other is measured from the differential (where it matters most)?

Have heard scania are bringing out a 800s v8 they couldn't let volvo beat them . If 800s v8 is confirmed then have a volvo fh16 780 verses the 800s v8 both are amazing awesome trucks to be fair

The two trucks are not comparable. That said, each to their own.. think I've driven most trucks in 40 years of driving apart from Renault... and I'm a Volvo man through and through!
How do you tell the difference in truck models of the Scania? I do like that Volvo show it on the side. But the Scania sounds and looks the best.

well, a test done in norway with 770 vs 750 the 770 was 28seconds faster up a 3km long hill pulling same weight excavator. 28seconds faster. so im interested in knowing how the 780 is vs the 770 in pulling same weight up a hill, but 28seconds is alot. so i think volvo need to speed up their gear changes on the 780 to win
@@supertreme5559 Volvo focus on managing more fuel compared to speed, thats why the scania is always fast, but trucks make you the owner more money when using less fuel not speed, so thats why
@@YorkenAuto All modern trucks are made now for economy but you can't beat a V8 with L6.Even old 730 was faster uphill than 750.I'm sure 770 will be faster than new 780.

Don't you watch the video mate? Scania uses different methods to rate their engine. 770 hp on the drivetrain, that mean the engine alone produce more than 770 hp mate. 😂
