  • Improve your Brazilian Zouk by following-along with me in my solo training!
In this video I explain in detail, the technique of Elastico.
I explain in detail the body movement with travelling footwork and on the spot, before practicing with music.
Once you understand the technique, you will discover just how often we use this movement and you will be able to connect the legs and hips to the upper body to transform your dancing!
My main source of knowledge for this technique came from, Alisson Sandi and also Arthur and Layssa plus my own experience and experimentation on how to make this movement look natural and stable.

Amazing your precision and clear detailed explanation. Thanks for sharing! Specially useful for us that live in small towns with little chances to travel and learn well.

I am curious as to why you call that elastico, I am aware of some other things in Brasil called elastico, like bonus, and elastico connection, but I have never heard rau called elastico

Thank you so much for sharing, I learned lots!
A question, when coming up from the elastico, you mentioned in the text to come up using my abs, but in the video later, you say to pop up with your legs. Both makes sense, but do I do both, or one and then the other? I've also heard that the headflick should be led by the thoracic, so this is all a bit confusing for me... Could you please help me out?

Hi Jennifer - thanks for commenting! You should use both your legs and abs to bring your head up - the movement starts from the floor and travels up through your body. So I think yes that the thoracic is involved too. I use the term 'abs' because it is recognisable to people a somewhere that holds strength. I hope that helps! xx Jane
