Society is intimidated by a carefree and confident black woman. According to society, we're always supposed to be struggling and never relaxing and enjoying life.
Preach! Society is definitely bothered by black women in particular, that are confident. It's like an Indian woman from India was telling me how tough black women have to be. I said no I'm a lady, I'm a woman, I can also be demure and elegant. Society wants to perpetuate us as being tough, which to me feels like they as in society are trying to masculinize black women.

I can’t stand people that anytime someone is doing something they wanna be included and be like “ hey about me “ ! That is a very good character trait you have. I had to break up with a friend of almost 15 years because she was too attention seeking. Even while I was sick she tried to make it about her. It can be very exhausting. Everyone has its moment. I am not going to make a spectacle at someone’s birthday party to be the centre of attention. That is not my day. So yeah I like to step back as well and I feel like it is good to let people have their moments in the spotlight. I hate this kind of behaviour especially on weddings. Let the groom and the bride have their moment. It is their day.

The assignments vs relationship discussion at the end was interesting...I think this applies to not just personal relationships but also business relationships and friendships... Sometimes you're only meant to meet someone or be apart of their life for just a short period of time...to be taught life lessons...after which you are meant to part ways ...I've had a lot of those ...not everyone is meant to hang around forever in your life...and we should all accept and enjoy the journey while it is taking place...as it won't last
I was thinking the same thing,relationships come in different types I have learnt to accept when they end and to focus on the good moments and lessons learnt along the way. Such is life anyway.
I've realized that people will call someone arrogant, while knowing that person is trying so hard to have confidence in themselves. The person called arrogant is diminished because people do not want to talk to that person and the person takes on everyone else's arrogant attitude towards them. That's what I used to do. People look at me wrong, I wouldn't look bad at them but act like they did when they looked down on me. To them.
That was a long time ago. I also notice when people stare too long and I don't know at what, but it's me and even start gossiping about things they shouldn't know about my situation, which I find super uncomfortable. I automatically make myself feel better by not allowing them to get me upset. I smile or take a deep breath and sit up straight, even more. To remind myself that I'm so used to being critiqued by people who don't even talk to me. We all have reasons why we are the way we are. I don't treat people indifferently. I give everyone a chance or 3 or more because I'm not perfect.
I noticed because of who I am people wanted to make me feel and look stupid because they knew i didn't have any support system. There are many of us struggling. I cannot compare myself to someone else's pain. I can only explain mine. I am not in competition with anyone but who I was yesterday. I hope everyone struggling with any issue that makes them feel helpless and hopeless, find affirmations and mental health understanding.
It made me much more confident than any person ever could. I realize since I don't have much experience in talking to many people I come across certain ways because of where I am emotionally and mentally.
I hope everyone is respected and cherished in their time of need, even if I've come across any way that hurt their feelings. When people ignore you your whole life and then try to lie about even regarding you, you will not assume everyone is like that but people who act like them are like that. You don't have to say you are confident and then like some people tell me, they are asking, am I confident and i have to tell them. Just because people need to use my stolen identity like nene leakes, doesn't mean only 1 answer is good for all people and that's all.
We are all different and similar or not. Why does it matter what other people think if they are bullying and silencing you. ? Taking videos and cutting out other parts to even show your parents and lie about how you are. This is what these women are part of. People do it all the time. Whether willingly or not, being silenced and not able to speak for yourself helps people bully someone like that more. Like me. Like others going through this. Everything I've said in closed quarters has been stated by someone who shouldn't know it.
