  • Thank you for joining us for a special New Year’s sermon. We begin in the book of Psalms, Chapter 23 as we are reminded that God prepares a table for us and anoints our head with oil.

I grew up reading Psalms 23 for my bedtime prayer. Psalms 23:4 is MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURE in the Bible 🙋🏿🙏🏿💯

But He did it. I am out of the rain. He's being my umbrella ❤️. And washing me clean at the same time.

Wonderful message! Only thing ------------------------ Just felt compelled to comment. My husband, myself and two other couple who church together have all watched a couple of Kevin's messages, starting with the one titled "To Begin With" which was truly awesome! The general consensus among us though was as much as we enjoyed the message, the organ clangin' like in emphasis of every other thing he said was really distracting to the point of annoying and we all feel like having a fog machine really takes away from the praise and worship and makes it look like you're trying to cater to "the world" rather than truly honor and worship God. Don't get me wrong! I'm not just "hatin' on Redemption" at all because we all really enjoyed the message and feel like Kevin is truly as passionate about the gospel as he seems but I guess that's why the other things didn't seem to fit with what he was trying to convey... I guess is what I'm tryin' to say. It's not a concert for entertainment. It should be heartfelt, genuine praise and honor to God and we just thought the distraction of the organ throughout the message and the fog machine rollin' during praise and worship was disappointing.

First, I love Pastor Kevin Wallace. I have a question concern. I’m going to put this here for what it’s worth. Our American ideology is sometimes in conflict with scripture. The Bible is from monarchies and theocratic rule most of the time. Democracy isn’t Biblical except the Tower of Babel story….We know how that ends. Individual freedom isn’t a Biblical construct, and there were several mandates in the Bible. We are to be who we are regardless. When the mandate goes against God and scripture, then the mandate isn’t Biblical. If they mandate abortions after 2 children; we can’t worship our God; we can’t read our Bible; we have to worship some other God (some worship democracy (but that’s another conversation), or we have to denounce Jesus, we must stand against those.
Mandates: Nebuchadnezzar made a mandate to be worshiped him and Daniel wouldn’t bend and eating foods that were against his faith. He wouldn’t do it.
Mandate: Joseph’s lead a mandate in Egypt to store food. Imagine if their individual freedom was an excuse??? Israel would have died during the famine.
The Romans made a mandate for census and taxes, and Jesus said “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” There is a difference and we have to be honest and wise in fighting the battle. God didn’t overthrow Nebuchadnezzar, Pharaoh or several kingdoms that overtook Israel that didn’t even follow him, but His people were held to a standard regardless of who was ruling. Can we get to that place where we focus on being the light instead of making the world a light? We can’t legislate righteousness, we have to live it (good, bad, indifferent). Honest when we fail, compassion when we are right and humility when we correct our brothers. All that is Biblical.

And while I wait for my Lord my faithful heavenly FATHER to open those doors I will praise Him. I've been so ungrateful I never want to be that sad sorry follower of the Lord ever again oh why me Lord 😭. That used to be me. Because I'm the one who's strong enough. He knows this. I just doubted myself for 33 years now. I'm almost 34.
