- To start the celebration year for Mario and Luigi's 20th Anniversary, we rank ALL 27 Bosses in Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. This ranking is primarily based on the remake for the 3ds but DOES NOT include the Bowser's Minions side mode, as those bosses were not very distinguishable. Remember, this video is based on my opinion so it's okay to disagree with my picks! The problem with your theory that Ludwig's fight inspired the Shrowser fight is that Superstar Saga for the GBA had a traditional fight against Ludwig, one where he used his pre-battle minigame as an attack like those before him.
I envy anyone who is playing through this game for the first time on NSO. I’m currently replaying it on NSO and it’s such a good game
I played the game on the Wii U but I didn’t go further than Little Fungitown and now on the switch I’m already there and it still feels like a new experience

@@JGr2000 I completed BiS, DT, and PJ and I currently own SS, PiT, and Jr’s Journey with 2 of them on my Wii U but I hate the DS’s screen on the Wii U, Nintendo could’ve made the bottom screen the GamePad and the top screen the TV

@@supermario6387 I’ve played all of the games besides the remakes and paper jam. Dream Team is really fun but I feel it just drags on for too long. I wish it was more around the length of 20 hours instead of 40

The Superstar saga remake is currently my most played 3ds game, and the original is one of my favorite games of all time. It's sad to see that Alphadream will no longer be making these unmatched rpg experiences.

20 Years of my favorite Child Hood games. I've been playing Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga when I was a little kid and I love that game to pieces.
Several of the bosses changed a lot between the original and the remake as people who played both will tell you.
A good example is the second Popple & Rookie fight with how it's long enough to see their Bros. Attack.
Another is that Ludwig's fight is unrecognizably different

Cackletta's boss fight makes it more obvious which one is the real one in the remake.
I started replaying this game on the switch and it’s a good game I love it
it feels so good to see the games i grew up with gaining widespread recognition, alphadream may be bankrupt but they will never be forgotten
the ludwig was changed in the remake, in the og version he was like the other koopa lings, so the queen shroob battle was actually first with the defend only battle
Correction about Cackletta's Soul in the original version. You can out-speed her and heal, but you need to have a crazy high speed stat
Edit: I believe a speed stat above 120 is enough to move first
i think its somewhere around 115-ish, i remember going into the fight with my mario at 118 spd and outspeeding her

I'm glad that superstar saga came to the switch I haven't played the Mario & Luigi as a kid (I was more a paper mario fan)
So it's a great chance to finally play this great game series.
Piranha Bean isn't when Mario's sick tho.
The Fruit the boss has is one you have to gave to the hungry Yoshis in the Theater to obtain Neon Eggs in exchange of one of the Beanstar's pieces.
I think you got mixed up with the Crabbie Grass from Guffawha Ruins (when there's not a bossfight per say, just destressing a monster)

This game has so many amazing bosses that I feel like it would be really hard to rank them but this order makes a lot of sense

Funny how the game is turning 20 but thanks to the game boy advance coming to the switch I'm only now getting into the franchise and to be honest I'm having a blast😉👍
You aren't alone in this. just played this game for the first time and now want to get them all
I always have a problem which game in the series I like the most or Remake Superstar Saga due to the fact that in my opinion it was the best constructed game (not counting BIS), Partners in Time due to the fact that the game has many new interesting things that have never appeared in series, Bowser's Inside Story because it's the best part of the series (because it is) or Dream Team because it was my first game in the series that I played and I think it's the 2nd best game in the series
As for the fight with Ludwig, I would honestly like to see his original fight in the remake
And people who noticed that I skipped the original SSS, BIS remake and Paper Jam above I played the original and got bored of it, the BIS remake is ok and Paper Jam IS MY HATE GAME IN THE SERIES AND I THINK IT LEAD TO THE SERIES' CLOSE AND THE REMAKES WERE ONLY TO SAVE IT

A thing about bowletta first part,in the attack of the stars,when its red it's for Mario and when it's grenn for Luigi,basic right,NO because Bowletta move the eyes to the OTHER bro,so when it's a red she points to LUIGI and when it's grenn to MARIO,what a genious
to be honest i really didn’t like how cackeletta soul got to attack first in the original as you have to redo everything and refight bowleta again which is just not a cool concept its just utterly Tedious thank god the remake fixes this by letting you heal first and even the port of the game fixes the issue as well with rewinds and save states seoriously i’m suprised i ever beat the original game as a kid because its just too hard and annoying for me in my opinion thank god for the remake and new port as they fix the issues i had with the original game but anyways awesome video keep up the good work my friend
Cackletta's soul only went first if your speed was below 120

Cackletta's Soul is a fun boss in the remake, but she's even more fun in the original. Same goes for most bosses in Superstar Saga for me.

Popple and Rookie actually have two bros attacks. The first is Rookie tossing Popple in the air and then he jumps up and lands on him to create shockwaves. The other is a lot less common but I think Rookie sets Popple on fire and you have to hit him with the hammer.
Partners in time is my favourite the hate it gets is unjustified

I really feel like either this is a favourite Boss list or they are all ranked for other criterias beside their difficulty. I mean, there is no way Roy is the worst boss there, placed even lower than lemmy that might be one of the easiest if not the easiest koopaling to beat the heck out of.

What is cool is that with the game boy advance simulator being added to the switch it means you play the og version of superstar saga on the big screen using doc for the switch
This game is amazing. Every couple of months I beat it in one sitting on my 2ds. It's a game that manages to keep me interested despite playing it for 16 hours straight.
You were able to heal in the final boss on NSO but maybe not in the OG

You fight Pirahna Bean after Mario has healed from the bean poisoning, Luigi fights by himself because it's in an area only Luigi can access and the beanbean resident he's shooting is prince Peasly which is later revealed to have been swallowed by Pirahna Bean while searching for the beanstar piece

The Mario & Luigi series pays a huge amount of tributes to Paper Mario, which I love Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario.
I always just brute force queen bean by useing super splash bros on her crown.
also no you can outspeed cackletta's soul in the original game and go first to heal. And you can definitely get outsped in the remake too.
The first Bowser fight being the worst in the game is a given considering that it's nothing but a tutorial.

I honestly have no favorite boss in the first game. There are some that i do like such as the final boss and the 2nd battle against fawful but there is no boss where i say "YOOOO THATS MY FAVORITE" Although i do have to say that some of them hyped me up when i fought them the 1st time. Oh and the 3 popple fights were funny and neat but nothin special. Maybe the koopalings since a few of them have smw inspired puzzle mechanics and some of them have completely New ones which is nice. The different battle mechanics of each koopaling were also a nice change of pace. My favorite ones are in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th game though so ye

the ludwig fight is NOT the inspiration of shrowser, it’s actually the opposite
the GBA version is just a regular koopaling battle with some fireballs and shell attacks
