I can not stress enough how Kled's voice is spot on. It is IDENTICAL to his actual voice in game, down to his accent, screeches, and voice cracks
fun fact, we have a french youtuber that create content around lol lore, and he got padg (the comedian who voice kled, among a shitload of other iconic french dub, mostly in wow) to read part of the lore of the champ in character, and damn padg have a spot on kled voice. the only actual champ i prefer to have dubed in french than english.
he's the lad vocalist of a band tallah and a musician by the name of hungry lights , on of the best metal vocalists in the genre rn
In LATAM, the one who makes his voice also makes the voice of bender from futurama
You know I'm here for the reactions, brother! I'm so hype watching you react!
For Sion, I really wanted it to feel like he was a mighty, reanimating monster. There's a build up of intensity up to the sung bridge and reanimation refrain.
For Vayne, I went as IN on the Batman vibe as I could. Josef tossed in the Batman theme style inflections. You can hear the "Nanananana" at portions, as well as the trumpets. Really good teamwork from him and I on that one: Like a...dynamic duo, one might say? ;D
For LeBlanc, her whole thing is duplicity and having a double of herself, so it's all in double time with breaks, symbolizing a jump between the real one and the clone, but it's meant to keep you guessing as to which one you're hearing at any given time.
I can't even count how many times I've watched all the this is war videos, and every verse written by you is pure perfection for how each champion should sound.
That sion verse actually made me feel like I was watching a monster that was bred for war and destruction because his verse was just so intense and intimidating, and the Leblanc verse was both written and performed with the perfect level of mischief that her character has.
@@ActuallyGoose Thank you so much!!!
@@AntiRivet You're literally a goat from my childhood. Been listening to these This Is War productions for years man. Your writing makes this shit what it is for many people. Now that I think about it yall's whole damn team is astounding.
The cleans from Sion's verse was so tear jerking
The last Sylas line mirrors Lux's last line in This is war 1:
Lux: "3 skills to make you wary, 2 skills I need to carry, 1 skill hits like a truck, I'm giving 0 fucks"
Sylas: "I got three skills that I'm combo chaining, two skills, that's for combo breaking, one skill to hijack the buff, the plot has thickened, i got zero fucks"
Which has the added lore context since it was Lux's power that he 'borrowed' to escape from prison.
@@2centschange This!!
Honestly when i heard this first time i started crying just becouse he made that throwback so perfect and also "whatever you can do sylas does it better" thimg. just perfection on character immersion
Badministrator is the most underrated artist in this field. (League music) It's a shame he stopped making videos. Man is a legend, a lyrical mastermind, with a flow that can't be topped.
The I Came Back guy, Sion, is just about the hardest MF you can imagine. He was basically The Mountain out of Game of Thornes, the Vanguard soldier of Noxus' raiders. He tore his way through the Demacian lands for years, leveling cities and piling bodies as he went. He eventually met the Demacian King Jarvan the First in battle, and though he was maimed, his jaw cut loose and pierced throughout his body by spear and blade, he choked the life out of the King with his bare hands before death clamed him. Now Sion lives a half life, brought back from the grave time and time again as part of The Grey Legion, undead monstrosities used as a 'living' weapon by Noxus. His lower jaw is actually the Crown of Jarvan the First, fused to him as a reminder of his unrelenting fury.
Glad you decided to stick with the series :D The growth of quality from 1 to 8 is neat to watch!
Falconshield has so many more good songs! I'm glad they're well-known for their "This is War" series but I'm sad that their other songs are often overlooked.
Anyways, this is not yet the last "This is War" that's out there. There's still "This is Bilgewater" which is officially owned by Riot Games but was ultimately produced through Falconshield. You should check it out! And while you're at it you should maybe check out a few of their other songs like "Tentakill" and "Death to the King"
I was waiting for the reaction for this Kled verse hehe, glad you enjoyed the series and hope you will be back for more when new releases will come.
I'm glad you liked my verse fam! Also everything you said about the production value of this track is true, it's absolutely WILD, and I'm so happy I got to be a part of it.
You absolutely nailed it on that xin verse, glad he got someone with such talent repping him
@@prettytrashx I appreciate this comment much more than you know, thank you!
Actually killed it with the xin verse, was my favourite part in the whole thing!
@@Shadowsura thank you so much, that means so much to me, especially considering how crazy everyone else went on this track!
There is hope for This is war 9. I mean, the game has more then enough Champions 160 and even one Region with Ixtahl that isnt covered yet. I am so happy that you covered this series. i think it deserves much more viewers. The production alone is so amazing.
If 8 ends up being the last ever(Hopefully not), it's imo, a perfect end with the call back to This is War 1
There is also Mount Targon that hasn't been touched upon and there are PLENTY of champs to use: Pantheon, A Sol, Zoe, Leona, Diana, Aphelios, Soraka and Taric. Also Morgana and Kayle technically since they are Twin Aspects.
@@adorateluna7931 I wanna heat Taric Rap XD
@@adorateluna7931 dont forget bard :D
@@YaMumFlat420 I don't think he's from Targon. BUT another interesting take would be to see a video showcasing the champions that AREN'T tied to a region: Alistar, Bard, Kindred, Nami, Nocturne, and Shaco to name a few. There are also some that come from a region but their goals takes them abroad. Lucian is a good example. He's Demacian, but his role as a Sentinel supersedes his nationality. (Also, not to mention he was already in Shadow Isles v Void p2 lol)
I'm so happy you liked Sion's verse. The way it built up to that last: ,,But notice the difference between us is I CAME BACK" was fire as hell. I was surprised nobody really talked about it.
I've been a fan of Falconshield for years, they have a few other cyphers like "This is Bilgewater" (which is officially endorsed by Riot) and the 2 Shadow Arcade songs. I enjoy pretty much all their music though.
While it's not on Falconshield channel, This is War: Bilgewater was a side version (similar to This is War 3.5) that was made in collaboration with Riot as apart of an in game event that might be worth checking out.
One thing I love about the Katarina verse (HalaCG) is that after rhyming "aint nobody meaner" and "like a ballerina", it doesnt go for the obvious "Katarina". Kind of leaves you unsatisfied in a cool way, there is probably a term for it.
I'm really glad that you enjoyed the series since it's one of the collection of songs that I regularly come back to and a few other songs by them that I like to listen to are celestial, hail the king, and death to the king. And another channel that I would like to recommend is stringstorm and their songs rylanor's last stand, months of shame, titanicus, scarlet sky and pretty much any of their other songs because just like falconshield I enjoy 99% of their songs
Theres also "this is bilgewater". It's an unnumbered this is war. Hope you do it. Gangplanks verse is my favorite verse in the series
I know I'm 9 months late, but that Kled verse is widely regarded by the fanbase as being the most singular, on point, hardest 1 min of these battles. Every bit about it just OOZES with Kled's personality. I'm glad it's recognized this way because the VA, bars, and just overall performance and presentation is absolutely spot on.
been great watching all your this is war reacts back to back, especially opened my eyes to how much the raps have shifted to being sang from the characters perspectives more while still packing them with the great references, one liners and some just absolutely insane lyricism too. hope this series brings the attention both you, falconshield and all the others who put their time and talent behind these.
And now i hope you'll be doing Falconshield songs. Want to recommend two songs - "Hail the king" and "death to the king". They're kinda connected and its neat
Just wanted to say I just started watching your journey through this and I had no clue these came out years ago! I'm so happy I got to watch you react I absolutely LOVE your reactions to this they went so hard I'm adding these to my playlist
Lord have mercy I’ve been waiting for this for so long and I love how disappointed you were that it ended so quickly. I’ve had this one on repeat for weeks since release and I’m so glad we finally get to see what you thought of the series as a whole. It’s evolved and changed, how polished everyone has become and the evolution throughout the series is incredible. The 9th is something I’m really looking forward to and I hope they bring back a bilgewater remake and we get to see some of the newer champions ie: Pyke, Tahm Kench, etc.
Love the reactions as always and I can’t wait to see more 😌
Was looking forward to this one so much and at the same time so unfortunate it has been reached as it is the end of these, for now at least. Loved all your reactions to these.
Almost forgot to comment, your reactions have been amazing. So happy u didn't stop.
There's another one called "Frost and Flame" on the Riot Games Community channel
Really Loved your reaction it was a wonderful series. Also fun fact the Last Part (sylas) was a throwback to the First this is war with the counting and in the First it was Lux that did it and the reason sylas got free in Lore was because of her its Just insane what falconshield Comes up with. Also you should react to drown with me from them aswell If you havent already would Love to See what you think about that Song. Love ya
there are slot of solo 2 3 min songs of one champion(solo). Falconshield - Laughs Converging my fav
Hey Dave, I know you think you finished all of the This is War series, but there is one missing. It's called "This is Bilgewater". It is apart of the This is War series, but was posted on the League of Legends community collab channel. It's considered the forgotten one as most people don't know about it. One of the characters, Gangplank has an awesome verse on it.
4:32 my boy look like he got murdered along with the verse.
I nearly spat my juice, b. 😂
Who knew a 16 min breakdown of my favorite song set was what I needed tonight
I saw you a while back, was mildly interested, but knowing you go through Falconshiels' stuff too? I'm sold, here's a sub, here's a like, a comment too. I'm excited to see the Dave cave because you wear your emotions on your face alone gives me such J O Y. I wanna see more of you, I'm gonna love your content if this is any indicator of your energy!
FrivolousShaara has verses that are just like the most epic punches to the face. The attitude, the flow, everything about her is just.... "I am the verse equivalent of a hammer, and I'm about to drop" vibe. She's epic!!!!
If you go back to this is war 1 the last one to go is Lux who has lots of lore with the last of this one Sylas and they both ended their cyphers the same way.
The beginning of this one always gives me chills Badmins delivery into the "Demacia" so fucking good man
I am here for another one! Hope you enjoy.
The crazy part of the last verse is that it is a direct reference to the first This is War 1. Lux and sylas got a connection in the game so that is why he is calling her back!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO! DONT TELL ME TO CALM DOWN
Calm down
You should watch Shadow Arcade 2 its a short one but the bars are insane tho
Brother first minute? You didnt even get past the first 30 seconds 🤣🤣
Okay now please go watch some of Badministrators solo stuff, he was literally the GOAT of League rap
Please check out This is Bilgewater , Falconshield - Laugh Converging and Shadow Arcade 1 and 2
Hey Dave, really glad you continued the series. As far as there being more, as far as I know the past couple have been crowd funded. Kind of like Shofu's Pokemon Cyphers. If the Demand is high enough and the community bands together again theres a good chance there will be another.
There is kind of a spinoff called "This is Bilgewater" which is on the "Riot Games Community channel." Its still basically the Falconshield guys though.
'This is Bilgewater' is missing
Weird justification for it I guess, but I think that of this song of bangers, katarina's stands out as the weakest one (even though the flow is good) to me.
My favorite verses tend to be the one that's the most fun to do when I'm driving in the car, so:
TIW 1) Swain
TIW 2) Twitch (probably, maybe viktor)
TIW 3 vol 1) Mordekaiser
TIW 3 vol 2) Yorick
TIW 4) Close tie between Gragas / Olaf, probably olaf though
TIW 5) Veigar
TIW 6) Rammus, 2nd place probably Xerath, with Azir/Nasus tied for 3rd
TIW 7) Sett
TIW 8) Haven't decided yet, leaning toward Leblanc though.
Kat's verse here just doesn't have the same punch when repeating it as the others, it's REALLY fun to do veigar's fast part, so having breaks and pauses for like "uh"s, just makes it the least entertaining to follow along with.
