Regarding the glass roof on the Tesla, I’m sure it contributes to increased internal temperatures during the summer, but I have had mine now for almost a week, with the last several days at nearly 100°, and the cabin overheat protection has worked just fine.
You can get covers for them too
The glass roof heat issue is overstated.
It's been constant 95F daily here...no huge issue.
Just turn on the AC before you get in via the app.

Best thing to give up for the cheap model 2 is the glass roof. No stalks, no sentry mode, less power of course, and the rear display seems like a no brainer to give up.
What about model x? I’m ready to buy a model X, do you think I should wait until after the August announcements or end of the year???
Yeap just wait until those announcements, if there’s new enhancement then you can decide between getting the new model or refresh or could have the current ones whit some discounts
They should get rid of fhe glass roof and put a cheaper sound system.
It should still be relatively fast and have FSD and Infotainment system.
I don’t know if it’s available everywhere, but in Texas I was able to switch my Geico insurance to Tesla insurance and saved $350 a month. Tesla insurance is definitely one of its good products.
I like your thoughts on using the same platform to reduce cost. To get the cost down to $25k, I'd be willing to do without the glass roof and perhaps cheaper & smaller wheels to help get there. Could even consider more basics such as manual rear hatches/trunks and/or seats.
Be happy to give up the glass roof. Does the roof shade you promoted today make the cabin quieter? Maybe do a sound test with and without the roof shade.
Yes cuz god forbid they make a incredibly basic Model 3 with a steel roof, cloth manual seats and much less powerful motors
Addressing range anxiety and fast charging are the two key items that's going to drive EV adoption. Likewise, a battery that's not impacted adversely by cold temperatures. Lastly,
offering a low cost option to have a certified Tesla home charger installer dispatch would be a boon too.

I feel that anyone purchasing FSD should be able to transfer that software to any vehicle they are logged into. So if you own multiple Teslas or have a rental you should still have access to that investment. This could be used as an incentive to ramp up interest and increase sales.
I would gladly give up the all glass roof. I live in Hawaii so it gets pretty hot around here in the summer and most of the fall. My dog was panting up a storm in my M3 yesterday.

IF all they do is come out with a decontented old Model Y I’m going to have to get off the Tesla train for my next EV! Currently have a Bolt EV and need a smaller EV NOT a cheap larger Tesla! I want the hatchback you showed that is a smaller Y. I can only hope!

@RobertRosenfeld1, I've been following you on your channel for a while now. I don't usually comment because I enjoy watching your content on my AppleTV connected to my 55" TV in my living room and all I have to interact with is the remote control.
At any rate, I usually watch all the way through to the end, and certainly did here too. As for "What concessions I'd settle for to have a much lower cost new Tesla car?" 250 miles range, rear wheel drive with a much smaller (more efficient) motor, metal roof, cloth seats, smallest wheels possible, entry level headlights, etc, etc.
A cheaper Tesla thats a EV hot hatchback would be sick.
They need to make a new pricy sports car that draws the attention of car collectors. than make a cheaper car

The price is too high for the type of build quality. Tesla is really cheaply made. The only one that’s pretty good is the new Tesla model 3 refresh
Woot! Tesla releases a new Model 2, price is 25K after 7.5K federal credit, and 25K in gas savings over 5 years (base price 57.5K, wink, wink).
I would prefer to have a metal roof instead of the glass and save 3k.
I think the glass roof makes the Tesla unique I do Uber and every time someone gets in the car they love to look up at the sky and tell me what they’ve never experienced a car like that

Went the people say Tesla are to expensive they do not know what they talk about my wife have 2024 rav 4 and went I drive it is like a decade ago car I have a model 3 2023 rwd both cost here basically the same but the model 3 have more more more features than the rav 4 do not have
