There was also a brilliant celebration with the players all doing their party pieces in front of the supporters that went on for about an hour. Good times.

Derby fan here This was real football, Man Utd's 1999 treble winners are true legends with lots of British and Irish players that had a link to the fans.
Man Utd fan here. Respect to that Bayern team they looked devastated at the end. I recall Kuffour punching the pitch in anger - some players today should play with the same heart.

@@Harvey_Mod especially agaisnt that Milan team, which definitely was better than this bayern team in my opinion. Both unbelievable nights for both respected teams.
The UCL final make, being 1-0 since 6th minute and score at 90+36 and 92+47 make it the most impressive comeback.Add to it that Bayern were huge and Man utd were not favorite to win any of the 3 competitions.
This was jaw-dropping. So was Liverpool's miracle in Istanbul. Aguero's goal (right after Dzeko's) to win the League was epic. So was Dortmund scoring twice in stoppage time to shock Malaga. They all are why you watch. But given the stakes and the suddenness, I do feel like this was the most gut-wrenching loss I've seen. In 2005, Milan had an hour to recover from blowing their 3-0 lead, and just couldn't get over the line. But Bayern Munich led all match long, the clock was ticking down, and they could TASTE being champions of Europe. I mean, just look at the players laying on the pitch. Absolutely gutted. At least for Bayern Munich, they won it all 2 years later. SAF's interview immediately afterward was priceless! :-)
The lasting image for me is the Bayern players, even the mighty Oliver Kahn, lying on the floor like they've been shot. The utter devastation at losing the Final in such a heartbreaking way literally brought them to the ground. Don't know if I've ever seen players react like that. Not even the Brazilians at Belo Horizante.
I was seven years old when I watched this final, and LIVE. IT WAS EPIC. That was the first time I knew of Manchester United, and since then, I've been a loyal fan to them, even if they lose a final, title, or whatever they're playing at the moment.
It was one of the finest moments of football. When the ref whistled the end game, emotions in the stadium are either extremely happy or totally sad. I had a lump in my throat when hearing the sounds of supporters cheering after the final whistle. It was one of the most epic match in history.
what champions league used to be, the disappointment in Bayern Munich players at the end couldn't even get their legs to stand up showed how much this meant to them. From the day they won this United. I have never stopped watching this moment at least once a year almost 18 years now. I still get goosebumps. It would be greater if they won it with Mourinho now, a similar fashion manager after a long time absence and downfall. It just has to happen.
SAF - one of the greatest gaffers of all time. Universally respected, even if begrudgingly on Merseyside. Mourinho - has won lots of trophies. Can be a real jerk. Respected by small pockets of people, which change depending on where he's currently managing. After how he treated Eva Carneiro (physio at Chelsea), I have nothing but contempt for the man. If he never wins another trophy, it will be too soon. I hope he finishes his career coaching soon-to-be-relegated-again Bragança in the basement of Portuguese football, getting booed off the pitch after his last home game.
Absolutely LOVE that this footage has no commentary. I don't know why, it just makes it so raw and real. Like you're really there watching it. Brilliant!
Awesome! this was the time that I have started to be the fan of Man United! I was a fresh man student, we were watching in the TV room with many students. I couldn't see the second goal since we were celebrating the first goal. Simply unforgettable memory! Glory to Man United
I was there ! I couldn't watch the match on video again until we won over the man utd in slightly similar way in the old trafford 2001! It's a great example of desire for man utd but an evidence that football is unfair, not because the goals scored in the last moments - it was within the match time anyway - but because the better team in that match lost in such a way. not saying this because I'm a Bayern fan but really we played better in that match with two balls on the post and the bar I felt that it wasn't going to be our night. But because the life is fair Bayern won the Bundesliga title in 2001 in the last moment of the season leaving Schalke in tears although Schalke were the better team in Bundesliga that season. 16 years after that crazy final in Barcelona we're here, the sadness isn't the same but the happiness last :)
I was there, front row where all the goals were scored, never ever felt anything like the magic of that night, the stuff of dreams, the legend of the " RED DEVILS "
I was a 3 year old when this match took place. I don't have any recollection of the entire match except the final moments because that's when my dad and my uncles went absolutely mental. And I became a Manchester United fan for the rest of my life. So whenever anyone asks me about why I love football, my answer is this.
I was fortunate enough to have been in Barcelona and in all honesty I couldn't see us getting back in to the game, Bayern Munich were so resolute in defence but heart won it in the end and I believe we deserved to win the CL after the football played that season by Manchester United. An incredible night of emotion and drama!
Very gracious mate. At the time I said to myself no matter what happens after this I'm not bothered as I have seen the peak of football. For me it is the challenges overcome that year. Arsenal were exceptional at the time (best defense in Europe, they conceded 4 goals at home that year, ridiculous). The Utd Arsenal games were titanic and Utd only won the league on the last day (coming from behind). In the cup that year we beat Chelsea after a replay, Arsenal after a replay and two extra time, Liverpool, Shearer's Newcastle in the final and two other prem league teams. We had Barca and Bayern in our champs league GROUP (!!), beat Ronaldo's Inter Milan (I think first English team to avoid defeat in the San Siro for decades at the time), Zidane's Juve (unbeaten at home for years at the time) who were the top team in Europe at the time and that was before this final. Overcame the biggest obstacles that could be put in front of a team that year and with all out attacking football. Without hype it was a magical time. Have there been better club sides than that year's Utd, almost certainly yes. Has anyone overcome so much to reach the top? Not even close.
I was around 2-3 yrs old at the time, and my parents got so thrilled watching this game that their shouting got me awake and cried. I can now feel that same hype they got that day :)
Met up with my brothers and kev at the nou camp was thinking at 90 min oh man that flight home if only for 1 goal extra time , but 2 we went ballistic good memories thanks for uploading poor Bayern Munich the fans out sang us all day and there they were all on the floor and shocked in the stands.
+markorevan this was better it was knockout, the germans played well all the game but they played bad 3 minutes and were out. Milan-Liverpool was a Jekyll and Hyde. Milan played well the first half but choked the rest of the game, they though they were champions already. Liverpool played a horrible first half but gained momentum through the second half and even though milan was playing poorly they could not finished them in regulation. and milan Choked again in penalty kicks. But the 1999 finals was knockout from manchester to Bayern, it was just brutal.
+Artemio Varela milan played pretty well through out I thought, aside from those crazy 10mins, I thought it was miracle that not only they came back from 3 down but they came back against such an exceptional team. Choked is a bit harsh, Dudek made 2 or 3 phenomenal saves before the shootout - including one from shevchenko that I still can't work out how he managed to keep out. But yeah, I agree, this match still tops it, it was even more dramatic in many respects - united were also getting played off the park for periods, but they still found a way to win it inside 90 (or 90+3 lol) and without needing a penalty shoot out. Plus it perfectly summed up the whole playing to the end spirit that united had under fergie.
Frosty ICE the original one, by far and away the most objective, impartial and consistently great referee ever and sadly, probably for ever more. Why can’t they all be that good. Not that he didn’t make mistakes to be fair, he probably is just a human after all
Ran outside....... at the first goal... screaming on the road. Just got back in front of the TV for the winner..... OMG......👏👏👏👏❤️❤️. Never ever forgotten. Smiling now!!! watching it again.
WHAT?!! If you're going to bother watching sports, you watch until the bitter end. Spectacular comebacks happen. But they're never witnessed by fair-weather fans. Patriots trail Falcons, 28-3 in the Super Bowl...and win. Liverpool trail AC Milan, 3-0....and win. Reggie Miller scores 4,732 points in the final 10 seconds to beat the Knicks in the playoffs. Patrik Stefan botches a sure game-clinching, empty-net goal from 4 feet out with :12 left, and Edmonton goes back down the other way and scores the game-tying goal with :02 on the clock. The Phillies score 9 runs in the 9th inning to beat the Dodgers, 12-11. You stay/watch/listen until the final :00/gun/whistle/out....or why bother watching at all? Exhibit A for never abandoning a sporting event before it's over: 1988 World Series, Game 1. As TV camera's show Kirk Gibson's miraculous game-winning home run off of all-world relief pitcher Dennis Eckersley clear the right-field wall, check out the tail lights in the background of the fans that left early, assuming the Dodgers had lost the game.
Never ever turn a Manchester United game off before it’s finished. I know a guy who turned off the United 3-1 win over PSG in the 89th minute! He was gobsmacked when he saw we had scored.
Man U losing 1-0 to mourhinos Chelsea 6 years ago I should have known but didn’t see the signs leave up comes van the man pops it in the noise as I’m leaving the turnstiles 1-1 many of my few trips to stretford have had late goals
A different perspective and view of a truly unbelievable 3 minutes. United's name was on the cup. The Bayern players look shellshocked after Ole's winner. I'll always remember the look on Matthaus' face on the bench and Kuffour's anguish punching the pitch on his knees. Things like this never happen on big nights like this. And not in 3 minutes of added on time. Was in a bar watching this having just finished the final exam of my College days. Bayern had scored early doors and United didnt look like they were going to score @ all. However they were missing the engine room of Keane & Scholes. Jancker hit the bar and should have sealed the win for Bayern before all United heroics. It looked like we were going to fall at the last hurdle. But that year United had hit a vein of form that saw them score late on a number of occasions in big games. Ole vs Liverpool in the Cup. Schmichel's save vs Arsenal and Giggs' winner. The Juve comeback. Yes it was rough on Bayern but United never gave up. "And Solksjaer has won it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ricky Tan Yes such a tragedy Roy Keane (and scholes) were suspended for the final. Roy Keane was the heartbeat of that team and dragged them through in semi final in Turin.

If you wanted anyone to grab a winner you would choose solskjaer.awesome striker and a role model to any budding footballer.from a west ham fan.
One of the best Champions League finals ever.
i still got goosebumps seeing this after 22 years
This is why you play 100% till the END. The final whistle
Watching this after Flamengo vs River Plate 2019.
I love these HD videos. Crystal clear quality!
Thanks for posting, great perspective !
One of the greatest moment in sports. Unforgettable.
I never get bored of seeing these minutes. And thanks to the uploader, since I had never seen this footage.
I was there, front row where all the goals were scored, never ever felt anything like the magic of that night, the stuff of dreams, the legend of the " RED DEVILS "
You were not there, stop spoofing. I didn’t see you at the match dude. 14>1 Amen.
@@zzzaaa0990 Not even wasting my time on you shit for brains 😴
@@robfereday4753 stop swearing dude, just because you have been found out. 14>1 Amen.
The treble and the way it was climatically won, was the greatest moment ever in football history.
Unforgettable ...
My Dad was there and he says it was one of the best game he has ever seen played and the atmosphere was mental in these last few minutes
That was the best team in the history of football😭😢
AHAHAHAJJAJAJAJAHA
For a Liverpool supporter to jump with joy, this was truly an everlasting footballing moment. Already 21 years back...
Still goosebumps and tears of joy 21 year later
I was born just hours before this game was played
Congrats
this is the best moment in my life
remind me when i waiting for my graduation from elementary school
GGMU since 1996
I was around 2-3 yrs old at the time, and my parents got so thrilled watching this game that their shouting got me awake and cried. I can now feel that same hype they got that day :)
Im a southampton fan and i remember watching this in my bedsit and jumping all over the sofa when solkajaer scored the winner . Totally amazing game
This is greatest game of all time......
The Setting .Barcelona where history MATTERS. THE ROAR - NO Istanbul roar got CLOSE. NEVER WILL. INCREDIBLE.
So happy to see again those incredible moments.!!!
Greatest final in the history of the Champions league?
Lol no way
@@njclondon2009 Totally agree. Greetings from Poland
And thus 'Fergie Time' was born.
A year after this comment but Fergie Time has been around since 1993, six years before this match was played.
Fergie Time happened during United's first Premier League title.
You uneducated fuck.
Revelian1982 80 people disagree, sissy boy.
fantastic clip thanks for sharing
Amazing, no matter how many times I watch it. Brilliant.
Collina
Worlds best Referee!!
Frosty ICE the original one, by far and away the most objective, impartial and consistently great referee ever and sadly, probably for ever more. Why can’t they all be that good.
Not that he didn’t make mistakes to be fair, he probably is just a human after all
Unlike that twat who refereed chelsea barcelona in 2009 @ stamford bridge
late in May in 1999 Solksjaer scored a goal in Fergie time what a feeling what a night 😂😂
Gives me the chills and goosebums everytime i see it
Although Bayern lost this final I'm glad most of these players who played in this one got to win it in 2001 they were a quality team.
I remember watching this live. I literally pooped my pants
Collina, the best referee in the history of football.
Still get goosebumps when I watch it, even without the commentary
Ran outside....... at the first goal... screaming on the road.
Just got back in front of the TV for the winner..... OMG......👏👏👏👏❤️❤️. Never ever forgotten. Smiling now!!! watching it again.
I was listening on the radio and turned it off at 90 mins., thinking it was all over. I didn't find out until the next day......
Doubter 😈
This was on my birthday May 26th
Gives me the chills everytime i watch this..
omg that roar
ForEver United!
I remember when I was 7 years old, after Man United won the treble, I felt like I was in heaven!
I was there with my brother, sister and my dad, a lot of Utd fans had already left, was unbelievable, unforgettable... glory,glory....
Treble winning season
MU played this final without two of their best players. MU captain Roy Keen and play maker Paul Scholes.
The forces is certainly with MU.
Ricky Tan Yes such a tragedy Roy Keane (and scholes) were suspended for the final. Roy Keane was the heartbeat of that team and dragged them through in semi final in Turin.
lardosian what a come back from two goals down. Current MU team are just boys.
Still gives me goosebumps after all these years -
The best come back in football history.
