You can become a Florida resident by having an address there for 24 hours.
for colleges you have to live in the state for few months before enroll colleges to get instate tuition
Yeah but why would I want to do that?
Yep, all you have to do is go get a driver's license...colleges would have no idea where you lived unless you are coming directly out of high school
@@user-jl1cm9nd1v college is for libtards
@@Marcus_Wulfhart … untrue. Educational financial forms have IRS access. They literally do look it up, unless you’re not filling out for literally any FAFSA paperwork and you’re paying the entire bill upfront in cash.
I served 6 years in the National Guard. I’ll tell you how it really is. I was promised a $20,000 enlistment bonus and encouraged to reclass MOS’, after I did, they pulled my bonus and gave me nothing. They promised the GI bill, did you know you only get a small percentage of the college funds because you’re part time? The NG is a joke, don’t enlist!
Truth. You'll be promised a rose garden. In reality, you are given a field of weeds.

Don’t forget to add when they put you on orders it’s for 28 days! So they don’t have to pay full BAH!
Yup. Might as well go active duty and get all the benefits. 😂 my husband is active duty and that bah and separation pay plus his BAS for food really add up. We get separation pay when he’s gone longer than 30 days. It’s about $300. Plus this fall he’s going to hit 6 years and that’ll be another $300 a month. 😂😂😂

@@jackstoutamore8541 Being ADOS OR AGR is not the same as going ON active duty. Of course you can get active orders to be in the guard or reserves, doing that but it's not the same as being released in going on active duty with that component.

The Air Force just raised their age limit to 42 years old from 37, two days ago. I did 2 years FL Army Guard, did Basic and AIT, 2 years in the Guard I said I want to go Active. My commander released me to go Active, I changed my MOS and had a wonderful career. I want to go back in but Im 43 now. Ive been out since 2005
I was active duty for 5 years when I ETSed out the army into the reserve it was a nightmare. I know the NG and reserve are a bit different but very close. I was that if I didn't like the reserve within the first year I could go IRR. When I spoke to S1 they said it wasn't possible. I went back to my outprcessing NCO and told him about it and he said I was correct. I was so pissed off I stopped showing up to drill after one year. They sent me my paperwork and I was out in the IRR. What I learned during my time in the army is that shit is so unorganized and they lose a shit ton of paperwork.

Before anyone join the national guard check in with your state and see if your state has a State guard it is separate from the army national guard. You will get state benefits for being in your state military no deployment to war only natural disasters
Bruh you can become a resident of any state by just having an address there LOL. Super insane that the Army let's you do exactly the same thing everyone else can.
That's what I'm saying. If they're using this as an incentivised video to join & use that as a benefit, they failed lmao
You don’t get it. It’s different for colleges
With colleges , you have to be a resident for a year or so depending on which school you’re applying for in order to get in state tuition . Question now is : is it worth Joining ?
"Moooommmm they're trying to get me again!"
Local Hanson guy here Whitman-Hanson graduated 2012, keep it up Chris 🇺🇸

You may say that in state tuition is cheaper. However many schools have military rates (applies to rotc, green to gold, veteran, GI, child of vet) that is both cheaper than the regular and in state.
the best benefit is that you can get GI bill and tuition waiver for state schools. Not the best in some states but in some states it's basically free school, same as active
Don't you also have to serve a amount of time at your unit before you can IST without a good reason given.

@@nigelwest5776 I mean strippers only cost dollars sooo
I won't dogpile on this Service Member's video like a lot of others are. My personal experience with the Guard is that they make promises that they can't fulfill. I spent over two years waiting for a blood pressure waiver before 9/11, with multiple Recruiters telling me it was submitted, then their replacements insisting they had no record of such. "Resubmit." I went Active Duty, retired after 21 years, and am enjoying life now in my mid-40s, not having to wait another 10+ years for retirement pay to kick in. As a Recruiter, I witnessed ARNG Recruiters telling the same lies to Applicants. Basically, if you're disqualified for a reason that may be waiverable in the future, they'll keep you in their pocket. I knew a few high school students who talked like they were in the Guard, so I left them alone, only to find out months later that they were being baited along with promises of going to MEPS to sign their contract each month.
SPC Kellum has his Air Assault Badge, which is a sign that he's squared away. Even with the state-run Regional Training Institutes, it's hard to get special qualifications in the Guard. I did Air Assault at Fort Campbell back in '04 and we had a few Guard Soldiers there who were only able to attend because they were mobilized on federal orders. The state funds all schools otherwise, so if you want to be an Airborne Ranger (qualified, not scrolled), you're best off going Active.
I will say that ARNG Trainees have an edge on their peers in BCT or OSUT. As a Senior Drill Sergeant, I saw the benefits of the Recruit Sustainment Program over even the Future Soldier Program which I supervised over the last two years of my time as a Recruiter.
Be honest. The state NG must release you. You can’t just go without being released.
varies by state and school. ask the school before making any decisions

@@PM-yp9wv lol you think this is the only way for lower income people to get higher education. May I present “TRADES” these jobs like plumbing, welding, all types of electrical work, and cabling pay a decent amount and you can make as much or more than people that have achieved a 4-6 year college experience. For example I live on the west coast and we have tons of Oil rigs the jobs surrounding these giant platforms lol pay well above minimum wage and ensure that you could definitely go to college if you are wise with your money and set it aside properly. For actual numbers a underwater Welder on one of those oil rigs makes close to 60 an hour.
The fact you think that just because you join you'd "die for it" not acknowledging that there are more non front line jobs then front line, seems a bit more dystopian.
Just go active. It's 4 years, and it's a unique experience you won't get anywhere else. I also recommend doing something that is exclusively army related. If you can do it as a civillian you'll almost certainly be paid more to do it as a civillian, and won't have to put up with as many dumb rules. Might as well do something that you can't do anywhere else.
I know this might be a dumb question but what if I move to South Korea and become a national guard can the college think still work or will I have to apply as a national guard over there?

If they are paying for your college, why would it matter if have in state or out of state tuition
Cuz they don’t Shii cap
To each their own. I personally couldn't do NG or Reserves and went Active Duty. For some people it works.
WRONG! You can become a resident any time however to get instate tuition you need to have been a resident for a year in most places. It is up to the university if they will give you tuition at the in state rate before the year mark due to your military affiliation. They sometimes will and sometimes won’t that’s the real answer.
And the guard won't release you until you finish your full contract if you use any college benefits. You were one of the lucky ones to be released from Massachusetts. From the guard period.
Switching to Active duty is again extremely hard. Have to be released from NG. Biggest and most told lie from the guard
You can get the same thing by just going to the dmv.
Wym ?
Are there active duty mos’s in the guard?
I’m planning on going to Puerto Rico, I live Im Florida
I know everyone's experience is diff but I was in 2 diff Nevada Guard units and hated it. Almost everyone is fat and useless, you got 40 yo SPC's walking around because progression is ass, NCO's try to act like DS's because that 1 weekend a month is the only time they have anything going for them and they let the littlest bit of power go to their head. Most drill weekends consisted of online certs/classes, layouts and sitting around waiting for 1900. Went Active after my first contract and it was the best decision I've ever made. Guard is good for those seeking tuition thats pretty much it.
what about retirement benefits life insurance etc that's promised signing to the guard?
Does this apply to joining the reserves?
Can I join as a felon if I received my civil rights back the beginning of 2021?
Can you be sent to actual war in National guard?
Is this for all intents and purposes?
Question I just applied for delta how does it work with the National guard
Delta?
Lmao what the hell
What?
Yeah but you also get paid by the state, so if the state runs out of money...
None, the Guard has less promotion potential as slots are by the State. You also can move to another state without having to deal with being stuck in the Guard for the state you joined in.. go on tell them
Just wait until you get out of the guard and try and see how the VA treats you. Good luck with that

I get real confused. Every state has their own national guard? I see New Jersey national guard, New York national guard. Are these run by the state or the federal government. Never was clear on that part even after googling it. I assume this is the video in which you explain why you joined the army. It got you to Florida and tuition free in a Florida university. You got to leave Massachusetts and I don’t blame you. Two states I can’t imagine being from are Massachusetts and Delaware.
Every state has a national guard its run by state and federal and Delaware definitely sucks I lived there for years
@@thqtsmacker6205 Thanks for clearing that up! I’m sorry to hear that you live in Delaware, I feel bad for you.
National Guard are reserve forces of the military (federal) but delegated to state authority, meaning under respective state government control (state status) during normal times. Apart from the 50 states; DC, Puerto Rico, Virgin Island & Guam have their own National Guards and answer to their governors; DC National Guard answers to the President. Governor of a state can use the National Guard to assist during social disorder, disaster relief, crisis etc only within that state. National Guard can be federalized (feds regain control) during times of war or national emergency to support the active duty forces. Even though under state status during peace time, they're still required to follow military procedures and the UCMJ as well as report to the National Guard Bureau (federal entity that oversees all National Guard units), so administratively the feds still got a little authority over it.
Half stepper smh... jk I wish I went national guard, to anyone listening active definitely has its pros but if you aren't 100 percent about trying to be a solider and what that comes with and what that means sacrificing national guard or reserves is a great way to serve, get some great benefits, and make some extra cash without giving up a whole lot, especially if you can score a mos that transfers well into the civilian world cause your ait training will Essentially act as a fast tracked free schooling (doubley if you can manage to get into a mos that gives you a clearance of some kind)
