I used Secrid for around 9 years and bought multiple. You can definitely drop a card when you shake the wallet, which was slightly improved in later models but still quite easy to fall out. My many gripe is leather does not hold up and wears fast and can even get sticky.

Hey Mark, thanks for this super in-depth review! Our team is really impressed by how much you know and how unique all your videos are.
As for the pop-up function you mentioned, you're absolutely right! Whilst some of the first-generation wallets did have this issue, the Ekster 3.0 wallets have a fortified cardholder made of anodized aluminum to make sure our customers can always rely on their Ekster wallets. Thanks once again for covering us, and looking forward to your next video!

Had the Secrid for 5 years. Excellent wallet. Enjoyed using it everyday. The card retention parts wore out after this time and the cards easily fell out.
The leather started to separate from the box and come apart at the stitching.
For the price and it’s functionality i think it was a reasonable life span.

I have the Secrid Mini in Dutch Martin Whiskey (Beautiful Color) and so far love it, the overall finish of the Ekster looks a little more refined due to the finished edges and the lined sleeves, but what made me choose the Secrid Mini over the Ekster is it having the small strap and snap which keeps it closed when loaded to capacity with some cash, otherwise they tend to swell and not close properly. Had the Ekster had this option on the Parliament I probably would've purchased the Ekster. Thanks for the in-depth review, good video.

I owned the knockoff wallet for about 3-4 years and loved it. Only reason I stopped using it was someone gifted me an Ezra Arthur No.6 wallet, which I used for about a year until I lost it last week.
The issue of cards falling out was not that big of a problem. The friction of six cards in the box was enough to hold the cards in place the entirety of the time I owned the wallet, unless I was deliberately shaking it to see if they would fall out. Same thing for the mechanism shooting out cards, I never really had a problem in normal use unless I was intentionally activating the mechanism with too much force. Another upside of how cheap the knockoff is, you can remove the whole mechanism from the wallet and disassemble it, which I did once or twice just to lubricate it as I could hear it rubbing. And even if it had fallen apart in the time I was using it, it was cheap enough it wasn't a lot of money lost

All my money and cards were still inside the wallet although the box had folded in on itself in half. Pretty wild, not even the leather was cut! SECRID's card ejection mechanism is the best out there. Instead of creating it and then moving on, they continue to refine and improve it. That's what keeps them on top of the market. I think they could learn a few things from how companies like Pularys out of Poland uses the box as a basis for more unique designs, but by way of function, they have it nailed.

I bought the Ekster wallet and ended up returning it. You could barely fit anything in it and it looked a bit bulky. I was really disappointed since I really liked the design. Also, the trigger button feels a little lose and it makes a rattle noise. After returning the Ekster wallet I got the Secrid and let me tell you, I love it. I hav not experienced any crushing or card slippage as you have described. My wallet is loaded with 5 cards in the box (2 embossed and 3 flat). In the outside the box card holders I carry in the far right my drivers license, concealed carry permit and 2 other flat car insurance cards. In the middle card holder I keep my health insurance card and prescription card. I always have a few bills in the bill holder (ones likely). My Secrid is in its 7th year. Card lift still works well, box still very firmly attached to the leather. Side friction pads still ok. Some stitching coming out, but this can be restitched. I stopped using the cash holder, it's crummy; gone back to my old clip. Card most used I have at the back (lifts highest); over time its mag strip has worn by sliding against the metal wall. I now have a dummy card between it and the wall, which makes one handed use difficult. But overall It's the best wallet I've had. If Secrid fix the issues I've found, It'll be perfect.

Walletopia is my go to place for wallets, being in the uk it’s difficult to purchase some of your reviewed wallets, so I purchase what I can. I do get bored with the same wallet all the time, I have just purchased the Secrid slim and was surprised of the quality I purchased the slim over the mini because it states that it’s a few mm wider, so I thought this would help in the closure over the mini. Just a handful of cards and a few notes it’s ok for me.
I do own my go to Wingback Winston wallet which I purchased after seeing your review, great wallet, great leather, and I will go back to it, only I do like a change occasionally, hence the Secrid.
I also own a Trayvax wallet great leather it’s just that polymer cash I find is always an issue with there wallets.

Another great review. I appreciate the honest call-out of the potential for various issues of each wallet. You have mentioned in several reviews the variations of construction, such as types of stitching, as well as the differences in dyes and edges for the leather wallets. Is there any likelihood of an education video to address construction methods similar to the video you have on "Grades of Leather and Why it Matters"? Knowing what to look for, and what to avoid, would be helpful particularly when a wallet uses more than one method like the Secrid Original (stitching and glue). Thanks!

Spring placement does make a difference. My Chinese knockoff spring just broke after 1 year and 4 months of use. Since the spring is stretched, more chance it can break with long term use. The wallet itself still works, but now the trigger is manual. Doesnt fall back automatically. Considering these wallets are dirt cheap (as little as $2), I guess it's not a big deal, but still important to note.

I do not know how old it is exactly but it has no serial number so it was a very early one… 8 years. The mechanism has been replaced under warranty once and it is now as sturdy as new…. would not even consider any other wallet if I needed one. But there are many variants of Parliament wallets... The Classic, the Fortune, the Vanchetta, the Vegan, etc...
It would be a nice idea (in my opinion) if you could buy for example one black wallet of each one, and compared them...
I tried to look for reviews of the Fortune vs the Vegan because they look quite nice in the renders (a strong pure black), but i couldn't find any proper comparisson or review... I ended up buying the classic, just because in my mind it was like an intermediate option between the vegann and the Fortune, but i do not know which one feels nicer, if it is worth the price spread, etc...

Maybe you could take a look to (yet another) variant: the Moero one.
The mechanism that retain/expels the cards is the main reason for me to choose this one (a Vintage Classic Buffalo) instead the Secrid.
    Just my two cents.

Thanks Marco, we have the Moero on our buy list, but we've been looking how to get it since they currently only ship to Italy. Do you know of any other online retailer that carries their wallets or Italy proxy ship service?
