One of the best scenes in The Lost World. The T-Rex attacking San Diego is a nod towards monster movies like King Kong and Godzilla.

i seem to remember that that's actually misattributed and that line was actually from the _Inspector Gadget_ movie from around the same time as TLW, but i could be wrong. the moment IS definitely a _Godzilla_ homage, though ;)

While not my favourite scene, the T-Rex in San Diego is a landmark in the franchise, being the first time the public is aware of the de-extinct animals.

I always loved the Buck and Doe which is why this scene is one of the most memorable scenes! The Lost World is definitely and underrated movie in the Jurassic Franchise.
Those Rexes should have had a bigger part in the movie series.

King Kong is Steven Spielberg's favorite movie which is why that detail is in the movie but it's cool.
That's a level of reality that the sequels never quite achieved... Honestly one of the best scenes in the whole franchise
In Dominion there are scores of animals among humans and there is not half a scene on a par with the worst shot of TLW.

It was supposed to be in Jurassic Park 3, but Steven put it in this to beat Godzilla 1998 and Mighty Joe Young.

The Jurassic World trilogy makes this movie look a lot better. And this movie showed us the horror of what happens when dinosaurs are released into the world of Man. As if the filmmakers didn't learn.

0:37 It took me a while to notice, but you can actually briefly see the T Rex's head and glowing eyes through the opening of the cargo hold door (next to one of the guards) as Malcolm goes to stop the guard from pressing the button.

Still unsure how the T rex ate the whole crew yet still got shut back in.
Look at the cage on deck. It was there first. It got locked in the cargo bay after.
I always thought it was raptors that killed the crew
He broke out of the cage and wasn’t originally in the cargo hold. Once he got loose he started killing the crew, someone shot him with anesthetic and lured him into the cargo hold and was killed as he pressed the button to shut it.
i think the irl explanation was that there were supposed to be raptors on the boat, but that got cut. Feel free to fact check me on that though

The Lost World and Jurassic Park lll are way ahead of Dominion, even though the first movie will always be the best in the franchise.

Trex attacking San Diego is the best part of the movie . King Kong attacks New York. Godzilla 1998 New York City . I bet the San Diego residents said 1933 a 25 foot ape 🦍 attacks New York and dies off the Empire State Building. I bet John Hammond nephew didn’t know about the 1933 event when King Kong died .
The T rex rampaging through San Diego is an homage to The Lost World (1925) were an Apatosaurus was taken from it's habitat and rampages though London.

Being at the back, he was screwed even if he carries on running forward unfortunately. I thought it was a relatively smart but unlucky effort of him to suddenly dart left to a building.
He probably figured the T-Rex might have continued to chase the group given that it's mass is larger, but instead it singled him out. By darting sideways, the T-Rex had to suddenly shift it's hefty weight in another direction slowing it down momentarily, and the man actually made it the door. If the door opened inwards instead of outwards he likely would have made it to shelter alive.
@@skycloud4802 now that you mention it I think your are right, he jsut had the worst luck of anyone that night because the rex chomped as soon as he darted left which caused it to slow down and observe its surroundings
