    Disclaimer: Can you defend yourself as a convicted felon? Yes you can! Take it from someone who's been there/done that! Please check your local and state laws before deciding to carry anything that can be considered a weapon. Please be aware that written law and practiced law are two different things. The US Constitution strictly and clearly protects the rights of all (including felons) to keep and bear arms (written law). However, the law in our once great Nation is now enforced differently and the Constitution is no longer respected (practiced law). In modern America, you have no rights! Law Enforcement officers are out to make the government money and strip away the rights of individuals in order to slowly and steadily transfer power from We The People into the hands of the now over powerful government (via the ever-growing police state). The "black powder firearms" in this video are non-functioning replicas shown only for dramatic effect. The most effective edged weapons and self-defense tools in the world available here:

I’ve never looked down on anyone with a felony conviction, except child predators. They need to be extinct. Anyone else with drug, theft or weapon convictions, I have no issue with. Actually most who have done hard time with those sorts of convictions, are actually the smartest people I know and would definitely help anyone out if they could. The police showed up and took me to the police station but after a 3 hour investigation an hour and a half of that was them questioning me trying to get me to change my story but it never happened cause I told them the truth. But they had to release me on self defense. The thing to remember about SELF DEFENSE is once you stop the threat you have to stop attacking if you don't that's where you will no longer be defending yourself

    As an ex-felon who hasn't been in trouble since 1993, this topic is very near-and dear to my heart. I respect what you are trying to do, I really do. But there is some bad advice here IMO, just like there was in the first video.
    First off, knives are great tools. I believe everyone should carry one, at all times, because of it's usefulness as a tool. However, knives are VERY iffy for self-defense. Most states that allow you to carry knives in the first place, even the ones with very permissive knife laws, have specific laws about what you are allowed to use them for. And in many states, you can get into a lot of trouble for using a knife defensively, felon or not, because of laws that say that if you carry a knife with intent to use it to harm someone, you have committed a felony. Prosecutors in many of these states have successfully argued that the fact that you harmed someone with the knife (regardless of the fact that it was self-defense), proves that you were carrying the knife with the intent to harm someone, and so have violated the law. And people have gone to jail for it, despite the fact that the self-defense aspect of the case was proven in court.
    The best (non-firearm) self-Defense options for ANYONE, felon or not, are;
    1. Situational Awareness. Be aware of your surroundings, at all times. Pay attention to who's around you, how they are acting, what they are doing. If you see something iffy, leave the area. The best way to survive a bad situation, is to not get into one in the first place. Don't be afraid to run, if it's possible.
    2. Carry an EDC flashlight with at least 100 lumens. They are very useful for blinding an attacker at night, can be used as a fist-pack/impact tool. Can be legally carried ANYWHERE, at ANY TIME, by ANYONE. And they have are very useful outside of these parameters as well.
    3. Carry pepper spray. This is hands down THE most effective non-lethal self-defense tool. Period. Will stop almost anyone, dead in their tracks. Even the proverbial 400 lb. meth-head. Pepper spray is legal in most states (but not all), and can legally be carried by felons in most states (but not all).
    Lastly, don't give up. While there is no way to get your right to carry a firearm restored FEDERALLY once you have committed a felony, many (most) states do allow for convicted felons to get their rights back, IN THAT STATE, though the criteria for doing so differs state by state. I am a felon with multiple convictions. I've spent time in jail, and in prison. BUT, I haven't been in trouble since 1993. I had felony convictions in Oregon, and in Washington. I hired a lawyer in both states, and successfully got my right to own, use, and carry firearms restored in both states. Though the process was different in each. In Oregon, I was able to get my record expunged, because I met all the criteria. So, as far as Oregon is concerned, I was never a felon at all. In Washington, they do not allow you to expunge your record, but they do allow you to petition to get your rights back anyway, as long as you meet certain criteria. I have been legally owning, using, and yes, even carrying firearms in both states for several years now, and as a resident of Washington, was even able to legally obtain a CCW.
    Now, it's important to note, under federal law, I'm am still not technically legally allowed not own use or carry firearms. But, the federal government takes a hands off approach, and doesn't interfere (similar to how they are letting states legalized marijuana, despite the fact that it is still illegal federally). I was told byone of my lawyers, that they essentially don't care, they have better things to do, as long as you aren't committing crimes with your newly aquired firearms.
    Also, note that when you get your rights restored in this fashion, because it doesn't apply at the federal level, it is ONLY APPLICABLE IN THE SPECIFIC STATE WHERE YOU COMPLETED THE PROCESS. So, while I can, for example, legally carry in Oregon and Washington, if I were to go to move to Idaho, I would have to go through THEIR process in order to get my rights restored (if they have one, I've never checked).

      1. That you can get into a lot of trouble for using a knife in a self-defense situation? Easy enough for you to confirm, there are many example of this happening to people, and many websites dedicated to understanding and explaining knife laws. the internet is your friend.
      2. That situational awareness, a good flashlight, and pepper spray are the best self-defense options (outside of a gun)? Many self-defense advocates and experts agree with what I've said, again, the internet is your friend.
      3 That you can get your rights gun rights back in many (most) states? Again, this one is easy for you to look up for yourself. The information is EVERYWHERE and is not hard to find.

    A possible alternative to black powder weapons would be airguns. (Make sure to check your state laws). Some air powered weapons are big bore, and they even have air powered shotguns now, though they are expensive.

With that said, I certainly don't beleive everyone should have one. But the ability to defend yourself us of the most importance. I own or owned both the relentless and the ghost knife I thought both of them were really nice for the price but there are a few downsides to both of them, both of them came shave Sharp easily sharp enough to shave yourself with, starting with the ghost knife I was really happy with it one of the favorite knives I've ever owned, unfortunately one day it fell out of its sheath and on to cement and the blade shattered into a million pieces but that was probably my own fault I guess or at least I can't really prove otherwise, the relentless I also liked quite a bit and still own although I don't use it as an EDC anymore just because I really don't like the metal chain that comes with it, it's a really nice chain and has really good durability but it's just really cold around your neck every time you put it on and it rips the little hairs out of the back of your neck and if it ever got caught on something I grabbed by someone you could easily be strangled with it just sort of a hazard, it really does look cool though, my only complaint about the relentless is the strength of the blade,I bought both the relentless and the ghost knife in the same order and always just used the ghost tonight as my EDC just because of how viciously sharp it is being able to cut straight through clothing into flesh down to the bone as shown in the bone tactical demo video, so since I used the ghost knife as my everyday carry I was a little more rough with the relentless and used it to practice knife throwing which after a few throws bend the blade pretty badly, which again is probably my fault but I've owned hundreds of knives and I've never had a single blade band other than on the relentless so I'm not saying it's bad again I really like both of these knives but keep in mind you're only paying $30 a piece for them they aren't going to be the most amazing thing in the world, with that being said I play on on reordering both of them even with their flaws both were still my favorite knives and now that I've taken them through a little crash course I know what not to do next time, one last thing about the ghost knife there were times after gripping the handle and remembering the whole anti-fingerprint technology the handle supposedly has I'd look at the handle after touching it and be able to see a clear visible outline of my entire fingerprint so I am not sure I put too much faith into that, there's not many circuses you can touch and then see your fingerprint visibly after effortlessly and the handle of the ghost knife it's about the only surface other than glass I never touched where I could see my fingerprint visibly after

I'm only 28 and look back to those arrests when I was 20 and can't believe how stupid I was. I can't imagine still paying for those mistakes 20-30 years later and not having a fundamental right because of that. It’s actually not a big risk. Most shootings are very straightforward in the facts and detailing how it all happened. The people that do time are always involved in questionable, morally grey areas in regards to the events that lead up to the shooting. This fuckin guy shot someone that wasn’t an immediate threat to him and sure it’s possible the system fucked up and arrested an innocent man, but then he raped a women down the line. What are the odds that a guy how was wrongfully convicted of one violent crime would end up committing a totally different violent crime?
