SpaceX Canceled S30 Firing, What Wrong? Weird S26 Moved, Starliner New Launch Date
It seems like there was a setback with the S30 static fire test scheduled for yesterday. Preparations for Flight 5 are still ongoing, with the static fire test being a crucial step in the process. SpaceX had received a 12-hour road closure schedule for May 7, along with backup dates on May 8 and 9, indicating their intent to complete the test promptly.
SpaceX Canceled S30 Firing, What Wrong? Weird S26 Moved, Starliner New Launch Date.
However, despite the vigorous pace of preparations, the test did not proceed as planned. The fuel loading process began around 11:23 a.m., during which frost lines appeared indicating the presence of fuel. However, the frost lines did not rise as expected, and about 30 minutes later, they disappeared entirely, signaling an issue. Subsequently, the venting and detanking process took place, suggesting that the test could not be conducted as scheduled.

It appears that SpaceX made a second attempt at the static fire test around 3:00 p.m. During this attempt, the fuel loading process commenced again, and frost lines appeared as expected, indicating the presence of fuel. This time, the process seemed to progress more robustly, with signs of full fuel loading observed around 15 minutes and 46 seconds into the process. Subsequently, the engine chill process began, accompanied by venting at the leg of the test stand, indicating preparations for engine activation.

Great Episode. Concerning the Starliner. So in realty how many valves need to be replaced. Was it a new valve? Do you think they should check the wiring again. The Atlas Rocket is an old rocket design. I though they retired that rocket and were going to use a Blue Origin BE-4. What happened to that? The booster rockets are old Russian rockets that are no longer made. How do feel about that? I'd like to hear more about Rocket Lab's rocket test when you get the data. It looks cumbersome. Great Episode, Kev. Have a Great Day.

I think S26 is just a GSE, and ship test for all new structures. They would've flown it by now... Or is a Tanker. don't knw the payload infrastructure?
The SF was short and clean. Gotta remember its a new spot for static.
Also, Zilla was purging its veins to get ready to rock. 2 weeks, and we will be back up in the air (unless the FAA sits on there hands again).

Must be some sort of social engineering by NASA pressing SPACE X due to failure launch of Boeing Starliner Capsule to the ISS . Weak. There is a big difference between a static test of Space X from actual mission to ISS. Weak.

Sharks move through water. Starships move through atmosphere and vacuum. I checked and water is significantly more dense than the others. Most engineering aspects are done with consideration of production technique and maximizing structural performance. A cylindrical structure has proven the best in regards to both of these. Do you also propose we make square baseballs?

Elon, I see you don't understand how the shape of the starship affects its safety during reentry. Structural changes is a must. My advice is please think about the starship as about a boat, landing on the surface of water with extreme speed. You shouldn't have arc shape of the Starship's bottom (belly). This is not a barrel. It tends to rotate because of arc bottom, as if it was a barrel landing on the surface of water with extreme speed. It will not swim smoothly, it will constantly rotate, as it was during the last landing. The bottom part (belly) of the starship body should be flat, as the bottom part of any boat is. Did you see NASA solutions? Wings of Challenger? Their solution was flat bottom. Slide, not dive. Starship is "landing" on the surface of the atmosphere, as a boat on water. The atmosphere to the vehicle with speed 40000km/h has consistency of water to the boat. Reentry is similar to swimming across the surface of the atmosphere, and should last as long as the speed will slow down in a natural way, due to friction. Don't push Starship to dive into atmosphere. What you expect is that a barrel with speed 40000 km/h will smoothly enter deep water. No way! It will rotate, jump, it will dive and jump, and constantly rotate, as it was the last time. This is why all steering features were broken, they were too weak for such an endeavor. When you make the starship (means a barrel) flat from the "bottom" (belly), it would be much easier to put tiles on the flat surface, maybe make a kind of "keel" to make the starship more steady, and starship will smoothly enter deeper parts of the atmosphere as the result. You have time, do not hurry, starship must slide over the upper part of the atmosphere, give it time, and make it more like a boat, not a barrel. Structural changes!
