So since finding sisterita, and others, I was inspired. I started and ended up overwhelmed. Today I put my Bible down. I prayed for the Lord to show me a simpler way that’s practical. Colored Pencils make a great highlighter, especially for thin Bible pages. That’s what I have on hand, and decided to use and it works great! 😊
I’ve used color pencils too! And the color pencils I had were erasable 😃

Thank you so much, Charlene. After watching Sisterita, I spent quite a bit of time yesterday trying to figure out a more economical way to make a prayer Bible. You have addressed all my concerns, which were 1. using a Bible I already have and being able to un-do it if I changed my mind 2. matching colors in the highlighters and tabs 3. pretty colors 4. inexpensive. I wasted a lot of time trying to match up highlighters and tabs on Walmart's website, and I wouldn't have looked at Dollar Tree. Thank you so much!! And, I appreciate the verses you shared.

I’ve done it before after watching Cat Woods a few years ago and I love my compact bible but I gave it away. I had hoped to replace it though but haven’t found the right compact bible for me

thank you first of all for sharing a more organized way to build a prayer/war bible. I love the other sisters who shared the way they built their bibles, I found value in your method because you make it easy, affordable and simple, since I am new to being a prayer warrior. When I get better in a few years who knows then I can venture out and be more extravagant. Simple is what I needed to begin. Aloha~

Thank you so much for helping me start a prayer bible. I found a very good bible to use for my first 'prayer bible' at a thrift store. So we do not have to spend a lot of money on a brand new one.
I love thrifting! I’ve found some really good ones even knew for $5 or less 🥰

I forgot they had this set of sticky flags at the Dollartree. Definitely going to look for them. These ones are great because they are brightly coloured and very thin so you can use a lot of them without the bulk. Thanks for these wonderful tips God bless 🙏❤

@@cathymartin8778 oh, that must’ve been a great fun career!! 😊 I’m 60 years old and really just learning how to paint with acrylics and watercolor. I’m really doing so much over scheduling in my postmenopausal journey, but it feels good to be creating. With God’s help (prayers) I’m coming out of a severe Postmenopausal depression. After hurricane Ida hit my home in 2021 I started to fall in love with neutral colors and now that I’m looking at all the bright sparkly tabs I’m not quite sure 🤔 I might use some of my acrylic paint pens, and paint over some of the tabs.

I have that Bible. I have already worn it out highlighting it to death. I just got a smaller prayer Bible to start fresh and that will be more portable. I like the simplicity of how you are going to do this. I love KJV, it’s my favorite ❤

I agree the KJV is poetic and good for praying through. The dollar tree has this version readily available. So it’s easy for anyone to acquire . You are making me think through the context of the text. I’ll have to take that into consideration.

Finally dear sister in Christ -- someone who has ‘God Sense’! I have been wondering if I was the only woman who is troubled about all the “art” & Bibles”. Have we lost out way here by taking our eyes OFF OF THE WORD OF GOD AND PUTTING THEM ON OUR PENCIL BOXES? I’m gonna have to go back and see if I can find any flags. I love the colors. I forgot that I have the midline markers. I have so many markers/art supplies. Does it bleed through? I just started my (Sisterita) Prayer Bible. Making one can definitely get expensive, so I decided to also use some beautiful lace and ribbon that I already have. 😊
I hope the storm has passed. We need rain here! We have saltwater heading into the mighty Mississippi River here in Louisiana and panic has caused the water shelves to be wiped out!

Some of the mildliner highlighters do shadow but no bleed. Lace and ribbon sounds lovely 🥰 The storm left before night which was a blessing for people who work late. And awww man! Yeah people tend to either over prepare or under prepare in bad weather lol
I have decided to make this prayer bible using these tabs but I will be using crayola crayon twistable, it doesn’t bleed through and they are erasable and the color doesn’t transfer to the next page, smudge or smear.

Unfortunately I find that the color easily rubs off of the colored arrow flags you are using. I have used them for along time in my planners and the color literally rubs away in a very short period of time.

Do you have any suggestions for scriptures to pray that would help with like emotion regulation? I battle with extreme mood swings, I mostly get really sad and cry. That's what I'd like to hunt some scriptures to help with
I have a suggestion for you. I had purchased child training Bible and virtue training Bible… it’s card with verses that you mark in your Bible. I have been amazed how much hearing the word of God can help with mood.

There is this website called open bible. You can type in any subject or concept and it will give you 100 scriptures on the subject. I too struggle with controlling my emotions too. I will get some scripture together.

@@BloomBiblically that is wonderful! I ended up creating tabs at the top of my prayer Bible for fruits of the spirit… so like if you are sad you can read through the verses on joy or peace. I’ve found it to be so helpful!

It’s good process, but not sure about the flags because you are covering up another scripture that might speak/minister to you, unless you plan to put one flag on top of the other?
