71 at 27:41 is a liar. He gave chase to the Chrysler that cut them off on the highway and almost collided with another vehicle by crossing the double lines exiting the highway on the off/on ramp. Then not knowing the limits of his vehicle, under steer got the better of him at the bend on the exit ramp causing his accident.
The other driver may get a ticket for unsafe lane change, but the running off the road is all on the DC.

Did some quick back-of-the-napkin math to try to figure out the speed of the Jeep in #18. Assuming that the Jeep is a 2018-2022 sport 4 door, it has a wheelbase of 118.4 inches (that is the distance between the centers of the front and rear wheels for people like me, 15 minutes ago who didn't know that). The video's frame rate is 30 fps and I estimated that the Jeep took 2.4 (we'll use 2.5) frames to travel the distance of the wheelbase just prior to the moment of impact. 2.5f / 30fps = .08333 seconds to travel that distance. 118.4in / .08333s / 12in/ft = 118.4 ft/s (yes, I double checked, it's the same number). 118.4 ft/s * 3600 s/hr / 5280 ft/mi = 80.72 mph.

He went straight to the exit lane after seeing the problem car get off the highway. He even admits he had come close to a complete standstill. After he gets back on the highway from the shoulder the incident was over. The law will tell you that you should absolutely halt before going in if there’s no room but then if there’s an accident, you could be found at fault because you were “going too slow.” Yield means watch out and find a good time to merge, not give me right to be an asshole and make it impossible for them to merge just to whine about an accident.
That's San Antonio for you. I only was there for two weeks visiting people there and I've never felt so unsafe in traffic in a country from the West. Exactly what happened to my car when I totaled it last year. While the other vehicle was still driveable and had only the bumper fall off and some dents to the back door

It's amazing how many of these videos were caught on camera and the people that saw the accident happen don't even stop and check to ensure people are ok. That type of people are what is wrong in this world.

These types of videos convinced me that I need a dashcam. After having a Nexar for a month, the only thing I've saved was a convenient cop catching a red-light runner. Still happy to have the cam for peace of mind.

Most of these accidents are 95% preventable if people knew how to properly perform evasive maneuvers. There's been plenty of occasions i could have been in an accident knowing it would be the other person's fault.. but i choose to be completely defensive even tho they're totally in the wrong. And as for 1:03:20 never compete with a road rager, they dont care what happens to you or themselves. Just simply slow down, or make a turn onto another street to get them off you.

One thing that these videos make so clear is that we really don't give enough space in front of us when stopped at lights. That extra 10-15 feet isn't going to get you where you're going faster, but it may save the person in front of you from misfortune. And I'd bet if you got bumped into you would wish they would have given you more space.
Oh hell yea, i always try to give a decent amount of space to the car in front of me, i also dont immediately start taking off when they start to move, i always give just a couple seconds to make sure they dont just randomly stop again.
I was taught to stop far enough back you can see the rear tires of the car in front.

i was taught to give a certain amount of space but when im the passanger my friends always pull right up close and i hate it because one wrong move from the dude behind us and we rear end the car infront. I always stop alittle sooner then most and i also stay back a bit further give myself enough reaction room

As far as I can see if a lot of these junctions were changed to roundabouts it would be much safer. They slow the traffic down but keep it moving. Much safer option.

I notice alot of people trying to cross a busy intersection and get hit. What I do is make a right go down the block turn around and come back in the direction I need to go. This way I avoid trying to cross traffic when it is hard to see oncoming cars. It works well for me as I can see traffic better and make better choices.
