I saw them live in Vancouver about 5 years ago... let me tell you, they ROCK. It was a small club, maybe 100 people. They were touring Slow Air at the time and the crowd was just stunned. Why aren't they superstars... who knows?

So this might actually be my favourite song of all time. It has everything - from those ethereal vocals to the off the chart guitar work. It's heaven. And the live performance is even better than the album version. By the time we reach the "to an island in the black....black...black...black..." I have officially lost my mind. Look, I was 66 when I stumbled onto Still Corners.
I was cruising through Nevada when this tune streamed in, 2018, summer, cruising in an electric car doing 138.
I'm 2 years closer to termination now but I'll take this with me into beyond.

the first song on my playlist for my daily walk home. hot, humid day, busy streets, sweaty crowd, non functional traffic lights, speeding mopeds. this song always sets my pace, my mood. kinda helps me get home safe and get thru all the stress.
That's a nice looking guitar. The drum set is beautiful. And her hair is awesome, how is hangs over her eyes. The style alone of this performance is so spot on. Just add that to the music itself and you've got a classic 👌🏻

They really are brilliant, makes me smile to see someone else enjoy them. Around the same time I fell for Still Corners I was also listening to a lot of Wild Nothing, Beach House, Washed Out, Blouse, M83, Deerhunter, and The Radio Dept. Goldfrapp's more recent albums (Tales of Us and possibly Silver Eye) might also be of interest to you. I hope you or others might like some of these bands if you loved Still Corners.
Their live performance of this song is simply flawless. The song's overall fast tempo with powerful drum and guitar mixed so well with her dreamy, slow vocals. It just feels so right, like you when your deep thoughts are relentlessly running wild behind a seemingly calm appearance...

This is the first time I've been genuinely interested in a new band in about five years. So much awful shit out there and so few diamonds hidden in the vast swamps of excrement that passes for music these days. This band is very good.
I totally agree with you. Except for me it's probably been more than five years. The last group that I became really excited about was OceanLab, which led to Above & Beyond. It's a shame that in this day and age, you either have to stumble upon, or actively search for, music like this.
There are TONS of great artists - just very few in the mainstream. You gotta dig for the treasure.
