New Digital SAT Poetry Question. Easy When You Know the PURPOSE. Don't Even Need To Read the Text!

- Welcome to more exclusive Digital SAT content!
Today we are looking at the Poetry content of the Digital SAT, but it's more important for us to identify the actual question type. You do not have to do ANY deep literary analysis. This example is a purpose question, and using our knowledge of how to tackle that question type along with background knowledge of SAT tendencies, we do not even need to read the poem AT ALL to answer the question. If you guys want more detail on such backgrounds, please let me know in the comments!

You're welcome! Yes, use the background information provided to you in the question and focus on the likely purpose according to the type of content.

Can I use this strategy (by not reading the peom ) for peom questions that wants the structure of the poem?
If it wants the structure, you do need to look at it overall, but once again, the detailed contents do not matter so don't get distracted into reading each line too carefully.

good video. i have a question though; how do we answer the poetry questions when we are not given the blurb? what if we are just given the poetry without any form of introduction?

what if question asks about structure of the passage
Sorry for the late response. Recently broke my right wrist and just started recovery :(
Those questions were much more frequent on the paper SAT, but hard to find one the Digital SAT because the passages are much shorter. Do you have an example problem asking for structure?

3:26 wouldn't "certain" be a extreme word, therefore it would be wrong. But now your saying "certain phenomem" is almost always the answer. I'm just a lil confused, all love man
Certain used in this context just means "particular." Certain meaning 100% sure would be an extreme yes, but if I say "I know certain people" that just means I know some people.
