Visit the South Island, they by far have the better views for your camera/drone shots.

If you ever come back here to us I 100% reccommend the Waitomo caves they are one of the most famous places in New Zealand and they are absolutely magical!

NZ is unbelievable. Been to all these places during my many visits. Every ten minutes you drive you will come to places one can have a picnic or admire. Great place to visit
I come from Auckland and have done all of these I can agree that they are amazing.
I usually watch boring stuff, such as car reviews, Family Guy, news, crime stuff, but this is so much more refreshing. Life is beautiful.

I’m a New Zealander and a North Islander. I say spend more time in the South Island! It’s absolutely stunning down there! I lived in the South Island for two years and I love it! The North Island has some really awesome places too but I think South is more unique.

If you come back to New Zealand you have to go to piha beach - 40 mins away from Auckland mad dangerous with the waves but hella worth it (DON’t go swimming there though) and at the top of the north island where the land meets the ocean. WOW what a view!
and of course the 'Mandel, as it's known as around here.
The beaches at Whangarei also can't be beat! Whale Bay, Taurikura, Sandy beach, Matapouri, you name it!
Here the average person probably goes to the beach 20 times a summer! I personally go more.

Been there last summer its extraordinary so much nature. The scenery is breathtaking worthwhile visting. The Waitomo caves are a must believe me we absolutely enjoyed our short stay.

If you ever want to do some more stuff in the north island go to Waitomo, its where I grew up, there are glow worm caves, bush hikes, cave walks, black and white water rafting where you literally go through a cave, and that's not even scratching the surface of all my little hometown offers, highly recommend trust me you will not regret it.
