Your vid reminds of a story-
Some years ago a young gal in New England got her CDL & promptly got hired by a trucking co. As is the habit with
most trucking co when they hire an untested, inexperienced driver, that driver is assigned to the crappiest truck in
their fleet. Well so it was with this gal. She said on her truck's dashboard as is most all simi trucks was an outside
temp gauge so the driver knows when to watch for black ice. Well, she said her gauge was in C not F. She said she
didnt know how to convert C to F but all she knew was that C, stood for Canadian.

I have 2 sets of trygg chains for my pick-up truck with cam locks but not a fan of the boomers. All that being said i still enjoy going wheeling in the snow with them

Trygg Helene forklift chains are a pain to get tight. There roll pin connectors are almost impossible to set they are so tight. Of course your against a rubber tire and trying to punch these things in is a PITA. 3 sets of the same part number and all are different. Only one set says made in Norway. Painted grey and close to the right length. Had to remove links and relocate 1 cross bar Second set is way to long with extra links and chains hanging off it, loose metal and paint chips in the bag. "Made in Norway" label is missing. [China?] 3rd set is way to long but completely bare metal and packed in a gunny sack. All the same part number.! All from Greggs too.

Richard, thanks for your feedback on this. With our many years of working with Trygg we have seen extremely minimal complaints about quality, as a matter of fact, we would say that all of their chain leads in the industry when it comes to consistent quality and performance. It surprises us that you are seeing inconsistency.
You can rest assured that all Trygg branded tire chain is made in Norway or Lithuania. They have a secondary, more economical brand called Fram, that was made in China many years ago. However, the owner of Trygg is so focused on quality that when the quality of Steel in China was not meeting their standards, they moved the Fram operations to Lithuania, where the quality of Steel is much better and the chains can still be priced economically.
We would be happy to assist further, and possibly have our Trygg rep get involved as well, but we would need a little more detail from you. If you know the specific part number you ordered and from which branch you ordered it from that would help us track down the details. If you want, you can provide us with your contact information as well so we can discuss this with you directly. Thanks again for continuing to support our 100% Canadian owned company, we really do appreciate your business!

    Very informative video. Thanks!
I drive a FWD Honda CRV and was thinking of upgrading to V bar chains from my existing cables. Curious if the improvement will be noticeable enough on icy roads. Specifically, will the V bar chain get me up an icy hill that the cables might not?
What is the type of chain for highest traction in ice for passenger vehicles?

V bar chains is what you want according to what he said it in the video, they "act like ice picks". They are the best for icy applications. Furthermore, I would imagine they would get you up the icy hill that the cables would not simply because the cable stye absolutely suck ass (my experience, your mileage may vary).

From the info we have available, Trygg does not have an option for that tire size.

Yes! Take a look at our catalogue page Q140 and reference the column in the chart that says "Dual Triple" > greggdistributors.ca/search?q=Q140&resp_group=Default,Variations,ItemProperties&page_size=8&view=list&terms=CatPage:Q140
