    Great tutorial, thank you so much! :)
    I wanted to be able to save the circle PiP mask as a preset, so I came up with a different solution: I made the mask with the "Alpha Adjust" FX and then added the "Paint Bucket" FX to create a stroke around it. Then I added the "Drop Shadow" FX and a "Transform" FX to scale it down and move it. By using FX only I'm able to save them all as one preset. Now I can just drop my PiP Circle FX Preset on any clip and instantly have a circle mask with a border, drop shadow, scaled down and moved to the side. :)

  • @WeiseGuy91
    @WeiseGuy91 Před rokem

    Masking makes sense, but is there a good way to make that new mask the new “bounds” of the video layer? Like in photoshop I could crop or mask then take that selection and paste to a new layer.
    Just thinking to make it easier to line up a shape and ensure it’s perfectly center, I’d want the center of my masked video to be the anchor point

  • @butchgo5346
    @butchgo5346 Před 2 lety

    Is Premiere Pro limited to one single inverted mask per video clip or is there a workaround for multiple masks in one video background to insert still photos that can be scaled and repositioned within the mask? I'm new at this thinking of doing a reusable template for my grandchildren slideshows.

    Great video. Thanks. I was wondering if its possible to do this with a multi-camera source sequence? I have two cameras and a audio layer and sometimes switch between cameras. Is there a way to do this without seperating the camera layers out of the sequence?

    • @PremiereGal
      @PremiereGal  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, you’d need to copy and paste mask effect on the source clip. And I’d recommend applying a transform effect to the source clip so you can reposition it at the source, so that way in multicam the clip will be positioned and masked already. I’m not sure if the stroke circle graphic will work, but I recommend trying a drop shadow at the source clip also

  • @shedluvphotography9006

    In reference to 3:05 at the video, could you just draw the shape, add a stroke of the color you want for your outline, drop shadow, and make a mask all within the shape tools listed on the screen there?

  • @MightiestBeard
    @MightiestBeard Před 2 lety +9

    Nice tutorial. I'm so desperate for Adobe to add the ability to apply a stroke directly to an asset. Whether it's masked, or cropped or whatever, it'd be so convenient if they added a stroke effect so you don't have to create a circle, eyeball it's location, and hope it lines up. It's in Photoshop and AE, why not here?!?!

    • @PremiereGal
      @PremiereGal  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, me too! There is a Paint effect you can try, but it’s too complex, a Stroke effect should be basic. You can also play around with Dropshadow to make it a yellow color and play around with the distance to make a stroke. But I agree, it should be added. You can add strokes to shapes and text from Essential graphics, not to video clips in the timeline.

    • @SakibKhan-fe7qq
      @SakibKhan-fe7qq Před rokem

      Well I agree with you and this is sick and too lengthy process for adding a stroke or border on any clip/ images. Really missing the Final Cut Pro days where every thing was drag drop with plugins. Even for crop we have to put up a filter... Common it should be a simple tool to chose like in FCP 😢😢😢
