I was in tehran last year. Travelled a lot in metro. You need bank card to buy ticket. But Iran is completely under sanctions so international cards don't work there. Every time I used metro, I told them that I am a foreigner and don't have local bank card. Every time, they smiled and replied you are our guest and allowed me to pass through for free. I have travelled 25+ countries and hardly ever experienced such hospitality
I've never been but *everyone* that I've talked to who actually visited Iran has basically said that it's their favourite country. We put them under sanctions and so we are their guest? Amazing
I've been living in Morocco the last few years and all l have to say is golly, how about that. Many people are much harder here.
Likewise, I have only positive impression about the people in Iran. One of the most friendly folks in the world. The impression that their government leaves to the world is a different to what the people are.

@@krollpeter there are many levels of “good living” the more advance ones might be subjected more to personal taste and situations like cultural pursuit (museums, theatre…) or your favourite sport team etc, and then there’s career opportunities, schools, families and hospitals etc, but these days I think most people would settle for safety, affordable housing, food, energy, good public transportation… but to me the best to live for sure was New York in the 90s’ it was a blast and I could walk down the street and be whoever I like without a care.

Tehran's Metro is a bustling hub of activity, filled with people from all walks of life 🚇👫 You'll see business professionals in suits, students with backpacks, families with children, and elderly couples holding hands. The Iranian society in the subway is a true reflection of the diversity and vibrancy of the country. #TehranMetro #IranianCulture #DiverseSociety 🇮🇷
One of the reasons why people are so kind in the Tehran Metro is because there is a strong sense of community and respect for others. People are always willing to give up their seat for someone in need, help a lost passenger find their way, or strike up a friendly conversation with a stranger. It's a wonderful example of the hospitality and warmth that Iranians are known for. #KindnessInIran #MetroEtiquette #CommunitySpirit ❤🌟

Agree, I actually don’t even know why things got so out of hand between the US and Iran. It’s becoming clear that our love for Israel has been a really bad choice. What other missteps we have taken heaven knows. This looks like anywhere else in the world. Most people just want to live life, work, enjoy the kids.
@@debbieyash1679Because of Karma I guess. Due to Iran attempting to nationalize their oil & gas industries, which is within their right as a sovereign state, the United States and the United Kingdom orchestrated the overthrow of the secular Iranian monarchy in the 1970s, whom they replaced with a presidential republic that later evolved into an Islamic, Western-hating government😂
@@debbieyash1679 The reason is oil. The U.S. wanted to make sure they had access to the oil and Isreal as an allie and Iran with a west friendly government was in their best interest. Nobody was complaining about cheap gas back then and the economy was growing.
Wow. I am impressed as an American. No graffiti, no garbage, no urine, no loud music. The Chicago trains do not compare. I wish our countries would have better relations.
My husband and I found the same to be true of cities in China. No trash, no litter, no graphetti. People seem to treat all public places and transit with great respect.
Well obviously there are no homeless and people who vandalise the subway because the homeless are sent back to their villages and the others are punished with harsh fines or sentences. @@caroleeberhardt7844

The efficient public transportation system, such as the metro in Tehran, can be a convenient way to explore the cities and experience daily life in Iran.
Many visitors have also praised the cleanliness of public spaces in Iran, as well as the friendliness and welcoming nature of the Iranian people. It's wonderful that you were able to immerse yourself in the culture and have a memorable trip.

When I was in Iran in 2007 the metro train cars were segregated between men and women. These new Chinese made trains have made that impossible, and Iranian society has adapted accordingly.
There are also a LOT of young women not covering their hair in this video. This is so different to the image of Iran that we get from the western media.
These were exactly my first thoughts when I saw this video.
A surprising large number of women do not cover their head and none their face ...
I did not expect women being not required to travel in dedicated "women only" carriages.
Even in trains like this they could make a segregation between men and women possible - but they didn´t.
But Tehran is not Iran, Tehran is the most progressive and western oriented part of Iran
The government doesn't really care about people not wearing hijab rn. In Malaysia we also have part of the train only for women to protect them being sexualized not because religion or what

@@markpensarn593 - In the main cities like Tehran, it is relatively common to see woman with no head covering (the majority will have a 'light' covering, like a scarf covering the back of their hair). In more rural, conservative (Islamic) areas this would not be accepted and all woman would be expected to have a head covering. Before 1979, Iran was a very modern cosmopolitan, liberal country. The Islamic revolution of '79 made it an Islamic republic and quite conservative. But the large population centres like Tehran maintain a healthy degree of liberty and freedom. Looks cleaner than U.S., Canada, and most of Europe!
US - sure. Definitely not Europe. Perhaps cleaner than the parts inhabited by the migrants, I'll give you that.
It’s just smaller
@@xandr13why you are so racist ?
nah bro, u need to educate urself in how the system works, have fun living where there is no visas , no crypto, and currency worth shitttt, and islam regime every corner, how stupppid u have to be to actually think people would move to this shithole cause of clean subway?
@@ABCTraveler-ol5oj What do you mean 'smaller'? The Tehran metro is only 24 years old and is ranked 22 in the world for ridership !
Outside Asia (China!) only Moscow, NYC, Paris and London have more ridership.
Love for my Iranian brothers and sisters from Bangladesh ❤
They not your brothers and sisters Bangladesh is considered lowly nasty uneducated people
You're Bangladeshi rajput? Your surname is quite Rajput-like
Great people of Iran, stay strong brothers and sisters 🇹🇳 ❤🇮🇷
See you next time thank you for sharing with us the beauty of Iran and Teheran 🙏❤️
It's cleaner and more organised than the Underground in London ever could be.
Except, as you can see in the video, people don't let people exit first before entering the metro.
Err. No. Totally untrue.
Iran is one of my favourite country. Started loving it because of their men's volleyball national team.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Very interesting insight into the daily commuting of Tehran's society. Thank you.
Iran is a sophisticated society. America loves to call it otherwise
What does America say? Be specific.!
Nope. America criticizes the unpopular iranian regime. The us government knows these people are tired of khamenei and his jihadi bs and that it is only a matter of time before they overthrow him. That is why there hasnt been a war
It's the government they don't like. The people in Iran, in general, have always been pretty pro-Western. Google it.
Never mind, because whatever America says is BS @@xaviSF
Not that sophisticated if there's no women using the subway
Love This. The side of Iran that they do not show. It is clean, I haven't seen one crazy person or anyone begging or trying to hustle you. ❤❤🗝🗝☀☀
Beautiful subway. Very impressive.❤ thank you for the content
Very clean, calm and modern
I’m amazed
what a beautiful subway system and lovely people. Greetings from New York.
A most enjoyable video. I live in Toronto Canada, and from what I can see from this video, it seems as though the Tehran subway system is cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing, and certainly more affordable than what we have here. This video has been a bit of an eye opener and I look forward to seeing it for myself one day. Thank you.
we the people welcome u but our regime might not
Wow so clean, inside and outside, long live Iran.
What do you think about iran?
Hello neighbors.. Greetings from Pakistan ❤🇵🇰
I have never seen train tracks looking that clean...not a single litter.
That's how a civilized society looks like. Welcome to the BRICS, Iran

Every metro track in East Asia...
Iranian women have not only been forced to veil but have been forbidden from dancing or singing solo in public, riding a bicycle, attending matches in sports arenas, becoming judges or president. They must sit at the back of the bus and can travel abroad only with their husband's.
And LGBTQ+ people can be executed just for being who they are and want to love.
That's NOT a civilized society. It's tyrannical.
They could subtract India and add Iran on the I. Indians are clearly bending towards they paymasters.
Their 500 commercial airline planes orders went towards Boeing and Airbus. Not a single to Brazil’s Embraer.
I am Irish-Australian who went to a Catholic school. My best friend in school was a Shia Muslim Iranian-Australian. He taught me a lot out of my ignorance. Our media is terrible propaganda.
😂😂😂
Can you please explain what you learned that was wrong in your thoughts about Iran.

@@gitahashemi8292 are you joking? designed in pahlavi eraLOOOOL most of it developed in the recent years pahlavi didnt have any metro plan LOL
@@gitahashemi8292 hello delusional monkey. this metro system was built in 1999. Pahlavi monarchy was overthrown in 1979. also, Iran has 6 metro systems in 6 different cities and 2 more under construction, all built by the current government. during Pahlavi monarchy Tehran didn't even have a functional sewage system let alone a metro system.

Iran is beautiful country with a civilisation that has a rich history. Greetings from Thailand
I'm from near London, and here we have the world famous metro system known locally as the 'Underground' or simply 'the Tube'. Watching this video, I drew a lot of parallels between the Tehran metro and my home one. The way the trains pull in, their sounds, and random people just hovering around the platforms, and of course, the rush hour crush haha. Tehran's metro felt surprisingly familiar, except everyone on the train is Iranian, teens sell snacks as they walk down the train aisle, you don't have little sooty mice running between the tracks and the station architecture is quite different, but nevertheless Tehran's subway is really impressive and modern, yet affordable. Very interesting video, thanks!
Honestly, seems cleaner and more well kept than the tube and NY metro!
Ours is a toilet next to th8s, thanks TFL.
Какое хорошее метро в Тегеране! И поездка действительно позволяет что-то понять об иранском обществе. Спасибо за видео.
за то на улицах бардак. водители пешеходов не пропускают, а пешеходы переходят улицу где попало.
