You're absolutely gettin after it! Those look like some fairly small and gutless waves and you're still able to catch.
Reminds me when I was learning. Just watching the board take off into the sky and you go sideways.
Eventually you're gonna be pumping waaaay out the back riding things you'd never imagine possible.
As for filming POV, if you have a GoPro, just get a GoPro bran orange floaty. You can easily stuff it in shorts pockets or under a hat. And I like to bite the back side of the case. I've done it for years and I have never found another setup I like more. It's also a great option for vlogging while onewheel/offroad riding. I've ran over my camera with that orange floaty and it's fine.
Keep at it! The 880 is perhaps the do-it-all foil for prone, wing, downwind, and possibly kite, but maybe too big obviously.

This is awesome input, thanks so much for the GoPro tips! I will keep trying stuff, and am definitely thinking about a 360 cam.
The 880 is really feeling like a magic bullet for me at the moment. Can't wait to unlock the pump!! Thanks again, stoked!!!

Looking good out there! I have some gear questions for you. I have been foiling for about 5 years. Started with Wake behind a boat, then kiting, and then 2 years ago Wing Foiling. Missed about 11 months due to neck surgery but have been totally back since July 2023. My foiling system was Neil Pryde and Gong. Just bought my first Armstrong set up (A+) with 85 mast, 1525 HA and a HS1850. Last weekend winging did my first tack with this set up. Pretty much make all of my gybes now. I ordered a Down Wind board (Starboard Ace 7' 4" 120 L) I weigh about 190. I am hoping to get into riding ocean waves like you are doing. What front foil to you think is the best so far in learning. I saw one of your vids you were on a 1675 pumping wing and then the 880 now.
I see you have the performance mast too? Is it a must in your opinion? I noticed in my foiling a little give is not a bad thing especially when you make a mistake. Seems more forgiving. Thanks man

Hey man, thanks for the kind words! In my experience I've found that a smaller foil was far easier for me to manage during the early prone learning stages. I found the bigger foils were really hard to control on the quick speed burst of take off and were really hard to control directionally due to the large span. When I dropped down to the 880 things got so much easier. I have much more control on take offs and can decide when to bring the board on foil. Unless you are riding incredibly low power waves, I'd recommend going with a smaller new Armie HA like the 880. I now think that size is a bit big for me on average waves but would likely be great for you at 190lbs. I just bought the 580 if that helps you gauge size.
As for the mast, it's the only Armie mast I've tried so I can't really comment on the difference, but from what I hear there is a difference and I imagine if you went from an 85cm A+ to a shorter 79 APF there would be a marked difference in the overall system rigidity. I do think the stiffness is a fairly significant factor in how much control you have over the whole rig, I'd say it's worth it to get the APF if you can.
Hope that helps man, and hope you are getting some water time.

Great stuff! Looking at buying one of the new HA foils myself... Were you able to pump back out on the wing? How much do you weigh? Will this also be your wing for down winding? Thanks 🤙

Hey, thanks so much! I weigh around 140lb/60kgs, and while I didn't pump all the way back to catch another wave, I made it pretty much back to the line up for the first time ever. I'm a beginner, so even though it's not great pumping it's for sure the best I've ever done. This foil pumps so well from what I can tell.
I do hope I can downwind it, but I still am a ways from successfully downwinding. I do have the APF 1675 that I'll probably learn on. Thanks for commenting, hope you are getting rad out there!

Sounds promising! I'm aiming at the 980 or 1080 (often in a thick wetsuit, 78 kg and fresh water and less than ideal conditions).
Keep up the good work and the stoke:)@@FluidFoil

Hello great video, which board are you using? I see is a KT but size? And your ha880 is one of the new ones or the classic Ha?

@@surfsurfer165 I'm on the KT Dragonfly 7' x 19" x 100L and the HA 880 is the new high aspect series from Armstrong. Thanks for the comment!

@@123jacquesattaque at 78kg, I'd recommend 980 orrr 1080 if you're more on the beginner side. The 980 is kiiinda close to the 1125 if you've ever ridden it. That 1080 is gonna be wiiild! Just know it's gonna be bigger and wider and perhaps a touch slower than the smaller wings.
Also, I am about 68kg and my go-to wing was a 925 in the weakest most gutless waves. I now prefer the 1125 for weak waves. The 725 is an absolute blast in powerful waves, but the pump is insane. 725 just wants to stall unless you can keep it at what feels like 30mph...
