Hey internet! Today we're here for another track breakdown of my latest track 'That Moment In The Clearing' which is out now with Insight Music!
This is a future garage / ambient style track, and in this tutorial I'll be showing you everything from the sound design and compositional stage to those swinging future garage drums all the way through to the mixing and mastering process.
You'll see all the gory details from the ambient pad and atmospheric sounds to how I make the thiccc dark reese bass sounds that give the track some weight and punch.
Check out the track at:

20:44 Best description of that type of bass sound I've ever heard
One of the best tutorial you did so far Venus , thank you! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done, Cam. This was a pretty detailed breakdown. Big ups on the Insight release.
Ayyyyyyy glad you enjoyed it. I dig making these videos! And thanks haha, I was really stoked when I got in touch with Insight as I've loved that label for a long time!
Awesome video, Cam. I'm lovin this channel.
Wow. I have sooo much to learn.
Same.
@@VenusTheory heh, I was thinking this yesterday - I see people as talented as you on here and kinda think - you're there, you have all the skills and knowledge. But no matter how far along your musical journey you are, it's an endless road - and that's a good thing!
Love your work so much grumpy moustache guy. Please keep doing your awesome stuff.
Great job 👍👍
Nice tutorial man! Love your stuff!
Thanks! Glad the tutorial was helpful!
Sick track Cam, Insight release, dope!

The crispy chicken nugget analogy thing was funny as hell lol
Great video
Nice work my dude! 🤟
Ayyyyyy thanks! More on the way soon!
Oh wow. I use dragonfly reverbs every day on Linux and always wondered how they compare to some of the ones you frequently mention. Now that you've recommended it ill be much more confident in using it
They're really badass, I only heard of them a month or two ago along with Cloudseed and I've been using them quite a bit recently. I love how smooth it is, and it has a really nice modulation to add some interest. Definitely a big part of my 'secret weapons' now!
I'm on aLinux. Where can I find these?
Wooow 😍😍
Ayyyyyyyyyyy love your music friend. Glad you liked the video!
Hairdo really suits you
I like your approach to making music. Did you go straight into the studio to make that track?
19:46 im gunna try thisssss
16:17 ahhhhhhhhhh
I noticed as you built the various instruments that the effects processing (mostly reverb related) is done with or on the individual instruments, do you need to account for this in the final mix, I'm just thinking all those tails arriving to be mixed together, or have I got the wrong end of the stick (very likely ha ha) hope this not too stupid a question, always willing to learn and love your videos, all subjects
Yo! Good question - mostly due to experience I generally have a good idea/final vision in mind and consider how something will affect the mix later on so I do try to do the 'utility' tasks as I write like highpassing/lowpassing/other basic stuff and how much overall 'space' I'm using for certain things.
One of the big things with reverb for me as well is that when you have lots of different reverbs that are relatively long, this contributes to a larger overall sonic 'wash' that kinda glues the whole track together. You do have to be careful with how much reverb you use and how the reverb is set (most reverbs include high/lowpass filters which I use quite a bit to shape things) but this has been something I've used for so long that reverb is almost second nature to me to get the sound I want in the end.
That said, this is also the final product, and along the way to this result there is quite a bit of tweaking and fiddling I don't cover here as sometimes you want to change/add/take away things. Plus, once things are close to done I'll usually go back through listening through the track and touching things up like tail times/eq and filters/etc as needed.
@@VenusTheory Thanks Cam
hi sir u use pure data or maxmsp
Doesn’t anyone know what other synthesizer like the FALCON EXISTS OUT THEIR OR DOES SOMETHING JUST LIKE IT????🔥🔥🔥🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 is it omnisphere 2. PLEASE ADVISE, thanks 🙏🏻🤫
Yo! Assuming you want to create cool pads and stuff, check out my videos about Cecilia 5 which is free and makes incredible pads. Otherwise, try out Paulstretch. Beyond that, you could consider Grain in the Reason Rack VST (awesome), or even Pigments 2 from Arturia.
Hello, I'm at a loss. How do I store wavetables in Falcon so that I only have to open the wavetable oscillator to access them? Edit: The folders are there but the folders aren't able to be opened. Do I have the wrong file type? I copy-pasted them from Serum, they're .wav
Heyo! You should be able to store them (on Windows) at:
C:\Users\yourname\Documents\UVI\Falcon\User Data\Wavetable
You'll also want to make sure to add the number of slices (usually 2048) at the end of the file name. Example: MemeLord_2048.wav
You can find more info on the UVI support page if needed!
@@VenusTheory That file doesn't exist for me its all the same up until \Falcon then it goes \User Presets\Oscillators\Wavetable. Not sure if it's the same thing but like I said, I can see the folders the tables are in, in Falcon. I renamed a pack with _2048 but I'm still not able to actually load the tables directly from Falcon, the folders just don't open :(
he does such awesome stuff and I just sit here and have a creative block .. sucks
Maybe a video about overcoming creative block is in order?
STE000
Zoom field recorder huh
What does "reese" mean?
It’s a style of bass
what your CPU spec?
Yo! I have an i7 6700k
@@VenusTheory thanks!
