TTI is the sticker but I have learned they are not the most reliable. I love these just for the fig bars and the pop tarts they only get better with age. This looked in amazing condition. Awesome review.
The 3 year inspection date on the case means that they were packed in June of 2010. Also, in about 2000, they changed from yellow to salmon pink on the outer bags because the yellow ones looked like unexploded cluster bombs in the Middle East. People were afraid to go near them.
Nutrition Facts labels didn't come out until around 1994 so I assume your salmon colored bag came out in 2010. Humanitarian Daily Rations wasn't introduced until the Bosnian War in 1993 and they came in yellow bags. The salmon color bags didn't come out until 2001. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humanitarian_daily_ration
First HDR review I've seen. I remember when they were shown on the news being distrbuted mostly to Kuwaitis during Desert Storm (the first Gulf War). They've been kind of scarce on the secondary markets ever since. Yours looked to be in pretty good shape for a 30 year-old ration. Notably absent was an FRH. They must have thought someone would figure out how to make a weapon out of them. Nice review. Stay safe out there
With an inspection date of 2013, wouldn't that make production 2000, no 1990? I don't know why they don't go with a five digit date code to reduce the ambiguity.
No meat and only the mixed veggies in the rice in that ration? Definitely looks fresh for 30 years old but I'm not sure I'd be able to eat that as a full meal or without passing right out from all that sugar. Awesome review as always though Art!
Oh you did say it was vegetarian but I think they could have added some beans or chickpeas or something to get more protein than just the PB and maybe some corn peas & carrots kinda deal for more of a fresh veggie punch IMO.
Great review and interesting ration. Looking at the inspection date it looks like the year of production is 2010 (with. June 2013 inspection date)? I don’t know if they are still making these, but those look to be in excellent condition. Very interesting!
Vegetarian rations always sound scary.. but the description of the mains on this one sound really good.. just LOOK awful LOL. Amazing looking peanut butter tho.
Another awesome video !I got some Sunflower spread in a ration and in the same military packet that peanutbutter and cheese comes in and now I can't find it ANYWHERE. Do you or anyone here know where I could find it? Thank you! Oh and have you ever got it in a MRI?
