When clubbing was actually about dancing and having fun.
You're right. And still in those years people wore interesting clothes. They made an effort to dress well to enjoy the party. Now everything is horrible: music, videos and fashion suck.
@@summer4ever469 Absolutely.
@@cookie_dough_hangover yeah and mdma that was pure and lsd for 5$
It was great, I have no more WORDS.
What is it about now? I haven’t been in a while.
Deee-lite was so incredibly ahead of their time. I mean, really. They paved the way for SO MUCH music. And to top off being incredibly fabulous, they had integrity when it came to paying other artists for sampling! Just the BEST.
Yet they didnt play one of their electronic hits. Clubbing was dull in the early 90s. Europe was way ahead
free speech: they were disruptive for sure and forced us into a decade of 90s high energy dance: whose high glamour did not connect w the poor students or the “losers” of the 90s: my sisters and mother sure gained but i as their brother didn’t : 1990: i’m so broken legally mentally and economically now ps:deelite tapped into retro 60s style
When MTV was...... MTV
Thank you for keeping the commercials in the show and not removing them! I LOVE it. It takes me RIGHT BACK in time. Love it.
Yes indeed! Same here!
Same. I turned 23 in '90 and I remember this program on Mtv. Can't believe it's been 33 years!! Damn!
Excellent video. 😊 Memories baby, nothing but good memories. 👍🏻
If Deee Lite only knew that this song would start the 90’s. I remember hearing this song for the first time as a kid at 13 and loved the new sound. It was literally groovy and different than your typical 80’s music.
We did not know how good we had it! 💖💖😭😭
I can't believe this song is 32 yrs old 😒
when clubbing was so much fun!
90s were better than today
I love deee-lite, that groove will be in my heart forever.
This was a massively fun time...
I'm talking about clubbing around 1990-1995, I met my wife who I was with for 20 years in Los Angeles during this time period. I met her at the Mayan Club in Downtown Los Angeles.
I also frequented Vertigo in Downtown Los Angeles when Prince owned it. What a beautiful time to be young. I tried everything, in all ways, and am happy I did. So I could confidently move in my right direction in my life, from experience.
Truth. I am so thankful I was able to experience this era. I am forever changed because of it.
Hey, did you ever go to Florentine Gardens back in the 90s?
How about Arena or Circus in Hollywood? I agree, those were the best times to go out clubbing!!!
I wish I was as free as the kids in the 80s-90s...
Deee Lite is a gift, and I'm greatful!
The. PERFECT quote abut sampling. Lady Miss Kier. Around 15 min in
... I never knew that about them.. I heard they always gave credit to a lot of artist, that's good to hear. 🤔
Christ I’m old. I remember watching this episode live.
This is FANTASTIC!!!🎉🎉🎉. This was my freshman year in college🙈🙈🍸🍸. I still bust a move when I hear Groove is in the Heart LMAO😂😂🎉🎉🎉. The best times!!
I watched this the day it aired, I was 14😅
OH MY GOD!!! I KNEW IT‼‼ I ❤ the '90s and Deee georgous Lady Miss Kier of course... Deee-lite! What a great perfect club party! 💛💚💙💜💓🌹🌹🌹🌹
This is awesome! I miss these days so much... Even the commercials are awesome 😎 take me back!!!
Damn! This takes me back to being a 14year old!! I miss these days. Ironically I still listen to some of these very songs.
Ppl were so fit to be able to dance like that for what hours ? I think I was 5th or 6th grade. I remember Dee-lite. Music was great. I forgot all about this show til I found this CZcams channel. Please don't shut this channel down.
yes it was! I was a part of this era late 80 and early 90s clubbing in NYC. great music and you DANCED ALL NIGHT til 4,5, 6am. Deelite was an awesome group. miss these days!
I was a senior in high school when this aired. Great time. Great memories.
Imagine Julie asking you to dance with her
Everyone in great shape! Everyone having fun!
I wanna be 26 again. I was all about the music, the clubs, the dancing. ALL of THAT then.
Danceing was really fun in the 90s especially with acid house & techno such a good vibe
You might enjoy Above and Beyond and the whole Anjuna label. GroupnTherapy on Fridays!
I wanted to be wanted to be on club mtv so badly as one of club mtv dancers thanks club mtv and downtown Julie brown for bring back some many memories 😄
Deee Lite was Delicious. So good. So of their time.
Deee-Lite = Neo Psychedelic Trans-Cultural sound. Music from that era was the best !
Deelite was the 90s in a Nutshell.
Wow I was 19 and they filmed this in the Palladium. I never thought they would close that place.
Take me back !!!! I miss this so much.. I used to dream of being on this show ❤damn! I miss the 90s so much that it hurts sometimes 😂 later in life I got to hangout with Lady Kier and smoked a joint with her hahah 🎉
MTV aint no MTV no more
When MTV played music
Did people really dance like these back then. Look so much fun. Nowadays people rarely move other than move their hip, The DJ only play Twerk music because that is what the girls like. Nobody really know how to dance to those songs, Very few people can twerk
I blame all the rappers who rap about and spend money on the girls that shake their butts
Gen z r the lamest
I was 17 yrs old 😊
I was 22 years old and I then went to nightclubs 4 nights a week, every single week....so much fun!
@@disneygirl2302 hahaha so did i..lived in nj and will be in NYC at least 3-4 nights a wk in a club dancing all night lol
The weekend began on Thursday and it was a non-stop party till Monday morning. Good times!
@@disneygirl2302the best nights were Wednesday and Thursday, for the coolest crowds Fri and Sat were mostly mainstream but still fun,Sunday and Mon were chilled out low key parties only night that sucked was Tuesday 😂no party worth going was on ,I think it was promoters off night.
There Was A Dancer From Philly ( Stedman Daryl Croft) and He Was Just The Most Amazing Dancer And Person ... Just Wanted To See If He Is Still Entertaining The Masses... My Favorite, and His #1 Fan
This song is still the most amazing party anthem!!❤❤❤❤
I remember tipping the bouncer $20 just to get me and ex ahead of the long line into Palladium.
This was a good song.
Please bring back the 90's 😂😊
Damn it! From 14:42 to 16:00 they broke away from her dancing steps to other scenes missing her cool dance moves she was about to show
Dee Lite, This was the epitome of club music using tracks from other artist and acknowledging them...like being at a live club performance with a DJ splicing music and back flipping LP's. Ah ...sweet youth!
By the late 80s, MTV was excellent in diversifying their programming making viewers believe they were getting more than eight hours of the weekly music trade Charts WITH plenty of Commercial breaks😅
Love the episode and the adverts!😍
Sampling is everything now a days and they are saying deelites sampling is a bad thing. ever heard the beastie boys? yeah sampling.
I'm surprised to see Pebbles and Tyler Collins played on MTV. I don't recall seeing them played on MTV. I don't believe they ever made the MTV Top 20 Countdown even though their songs got played well on pop radio. BET would play their videos.
How do You Say...Deee Lite??? 😊🎉
Everybody was so skinny back then.
U can tell this isn't live ... she's not out of breath from dancing ❤❤❤
Right, it’s the studio playback.
Haha...yes the only thing live was that they were there live .
Obviously. She’s “singing” into a bouquet. Probably did it because she didn’t want to look like she was pulling one over on people lol…
This show is in the tradition of American Bandstand and many other previous shows.
Every single week for many years, bands played "live" on American Bandstand. And not a single band ever actually played live on that show. Every single one mimed to their record.
If you watch the equivalent shows from Europe, you might notice that most of them actually showed live performances. It's more challenging for the crews and producers. But now we can watch some great bands making great music thanks to their work. US shows, not so much. It's just a bunch of lip syncing.
Btw - there's a great high res video of DeeLite where she's singing live. Just search the song and you'll find it.
I. + Michael's Law will be performing this song "Tell Me Something"
Im one of those kids thatwent from nintendo 64 to genesis does😂
There was still some clean fun! Not anymore, that's why the era is over!
Yup 😁👍
oh Julie Brown
Wish i could turn back time
Класс!
Super 🎉❤
SUBSCRIBED!
Interesting. Dee-lite was a contrast to the New Jack sound at the time.
The first video is by Pebbles, who went on to sign TLC to a horrible, exploitative record contract which eventually forced them to declare bankruptcy.
WHAT UP PEEPS !!!!
Pebbles!
I WANT TO PRODUCE THE SAME THING
IN MIAMI FLORIDA HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA
I have to run for president of the United States before technology starts doing all of our work for us instead of only simplifying hassles which is all we really need from technology!
Its astro nomical.
Stay cool. Soft and dri. 21:40
Did you post the whole episode where Bad of the Heart By George LaMond played and This Beat is Technotronic played? I feel you posted all the segments separately but I can't remember if you did and I forgot.
cool fish one shirt at 18:51
2:07- Blonde bombshell alert
The lovely Camille!
@@ClubMTVFanPage that’s so wild! New crush! Thanks!
It's no Electric Circus.
Thankfully!
this is only like 4 months after i graduated high school. that great time before 90s grunge and altrock ruined pop culture as a whole.
Canada. Much Music, had a version of this show called Electric Circus. We had one T.V and my older sister would have MUCH on all night and wouldn't let me watch cartoons as a kid- I hated this show at the time.
I don't remember that second song.
This is awesome! What's not awesome is Lady Miss Kier's lip-synching.
The back track is studio, but I can't tell if she's live or Memorex.
For sure lipsync but hey can't be live all the time lol
Tho I’m not missing Indecent Obsession cheese at all
Bobby metro at 4:18 ?
Why is she singing into flowers
I theorize she did so because she’s lip syncing and didn’t want to look like she was trying to trick people. She usually sings live.
Camille was so hot!
Pebbles who robbed TLC.
Compared to the shitty music now I am glad of been a part of truly original music from the 70's to the early 2000's.
I would say after 2010 the music is no longer an original sound. Each decade has a style but no longer.
Digital cocaine.
None of these songs deserved to be at a club. They were just 90s pop. Dee lite had some great electronic hits. They would not dare play one of them. 😢
Thirty years later we can actually see how grotesque MTV was.
Is she black ? I never could really tell.
That's some terrible lip-synching by Deee-Lite lol.
17:02 Damn! She spoke real shit! She explained perfectly! 👌🏿
Omg Down Town Julie Brown!!! 😂🤣 Miss those days.
