leo nucci said;dimitrova is the real thing!!and i agree!! 100%!!with leo nucci.i saw her in person at the met stage in new york city,so many times!!she was a truly great dramatic soprano!! no one is even close to her regarding her great voice!! brava dimitrova!!
The tenor is Carlo Cosssutta, not Lando Bartolini as stated in the video. There is, however, another recording from Paris, from another date, featuring almost the same cast, with Lando Bartolini indeed singing the role of Radamès.
Off the top of my head: Dimitrova - Aida Lando Bartolini - Radames Elena Obraztsova - Amneris Alain Fondary - Amonasro I'll have to get back to you with the rest later.
It's a shame Bartolini's technique gives him a default Awwww. "Celeste Aidawwww! Forma Divinawww! Mistico sertawww" "Tawww sei regina" Never really liked his style, Dimitrova and Obratsova are powerhouse though.
+20 12 I agree, but that's more a reflection of the current sorry state of opera. Bartolini was singing next to Martinelli, Pavarotti, Aragall and Bonisolli. Not to mention Cappuccilli, Zancanarro and Bruson.

Imagine hearing Ghena and Elena in the same cast LIVE.... the sound and volume must have been overwhelming😫 Two phenomenal voices!!

Wow, what a powerhouse cast!
the famous aida concertan
te!!the greats soloists!!plus
the big orchestra and the
great chorus!!fantastic
concertante!!
this is the real voice of aida!!
It is the first time I heard Bartolini: excellent voice in this difficult role. I think he fits very well with Aida and Amneris.

@@vincenzoanzoletti1296 Thanks!
I agree with Mineto100. I just listened to the tenor and it is Cossutta, not Bartolini. I have heard Bartolini several times at the Met.
Thanks for the upload! Could you please post the cast?
This entire cast is GLORIOUS. Huge voices. Sadly the quality of this recording is terrible.
when aida!!was sang by truly
dramatic soprano!!. today?
anything goes!!and not for
the best!!for the worse!!

Per me Radames non è Bartolini.....che è?
E' Carlo Cossutta.
DEr Radames ist nicht Bartolini!

I'd still trade 90% of tenors performing today for Bartolini clones, though. ;)

That Awwww you don't like is called cover. I heard him at the Met and he was excellent.
pensé que la voz de elena era más grande, no suena tan grande en comparación con dimitrova
for a dramatic soprano or an
spinto soprano,after aida!!
norma and isolda!!what else?
really,what else?callas sang
the 3 operas in her youth.
Her Isolde was tragic.
