Yoke is way harder then I expected. Seeing Michelle run with over 1000 lbs on his back was mind blowing.
yes it's super hard indeed. Thank you for this great collab greg :)
I love these collab videos. I've followed Gregs videos (and bought his cookbook) for years. You and Mitch are great together.
Michelle?
@@danthefool21😂😅😅😅😅
@@danthefool21 Michelle Cooper
You and Doucette work well together, and I learned something about yoke. Well done.
Greg is the 🐐
Two intelligent and educated people working together.
2 of the most inteligent athletes doing a video together, love it
Greg is a legend!
0:39 "you will not step too short"
seconds later, "ok longer than that" (1:03)
You guys are the best duo on the Gym CZcams game with Eddie Hall and Brian Shaw. Keep going together, it's crazy nice!
Really interesting to see a WSM champion talking explicitly about his training, that's also what i loved with Martins and Thor. And now watching yet another take on how you should approach strongman events is a treat!
No secrets on this channel. If you watch back, I give away all my secrets.
Shaw always talks explicitly about his training as well.
@@mitchellhooperstrongmanyeah but you do it differently. It's well spoken, succinct and easy to understand.
@@bartondean4260 Huge respect for Brian (obviously) but his workout videos are more of a showcase i feel like, he's showing what he does but not really talking actual numbers and results it provided for him. He's always like "that's what works for me" and fair enough it makes sense but people are interested in his hindsight on strongman way more than in a neatly packaged video with him hitting 6 different machines that supposedly "carry over to strongman"
@@mitchellhooperstrongmanLicis has been by far the most personable strongman since stepping on the scene but you’re quickly gaining ground
Mitchell speaks like someone who’s doing it for a decade. Amazing to think he’s a relative newcomer and already a WSM.
Having my degree in exercise physiology helps.
@@mitchellhooperstrongman So you and Greg are on a similar wavelength education wise then. Interesting.
Mitchell can literally do any sport idc ehat anyone says this man did track bodybuilding and strongman at one point 😭
He's the most athletic and agile strongman in history
You guys are like two goldmines on video dropping nuggets along the way! Looks like you have a lot of fun training together. You make us all smarter while doing it. Love it!
I love this collaboration. More coach Greg and Mitch team ups!
You'll never get rid of him now XD
It'll be Greg and "Michael Cooper" forever.
I guarantee he's already got a picture of you and him with a heart around it in a notebook somewhere XD
*Will Tennyson cries somewhere in the distance
Coach Greg said “no” lol not finishing it up
Seeing someone this strong is so cool, man. It’s insanely inspirational.
I really like this collab. Great stuff... keep it going.
This combo guys is a keeper. Fun great input and content.
Hey, I’m from Brian shaws channel. I just want to say keep up the amazing content! Awesome to see it.
These collabs with Coach Craig are awesome!
Thanks for the videos Brother! I greatly appreciate your insight and sharing of techniques, especially when you previously broke down that you don't have to do 10k calories a day and so forth! My weight has always maintained right around 230-240, maybe I could push the envelope another 20 or 30 pounds, but I def won't be killing myself trying to overeat when much is still to be gained strength wise at my present weight.
this is a great collab and really makes you appreciate how hard yokes are. I assumed it wasn't as hard just from knowing what walking out a heavy squat feels like, but seeing Greg and knowing how strong he is puts into perspective how hard the WSM level weights rly are.
Will tennyson had trouble to
I see some.... questionable videos/advice from Greg, and am not necessarily a fan of his, but I absolutely have to give him the respect he deserves for trying this (admittedly weird af) movement publicly on youtube. EVERYONE looks like an idiot when they first try yoke, and it's humbling. He picked it up quickly, and had a great attitude even when he was struggling. Love to see it, and respect to him.
Who would of thought, they have perfect chemistry - love this!
Awesome to see coach in action. I was only sad not to see a go2max plug😢
Love the content Mitchelle. keep it coming . Love from India
unless there is an inside joke, it's Mitchell without an e on the end.
or if you ask Doucette, Michael Cooper
Awesome video and loving all the content 👏👏
💪💪
hi Mitch, absoluely loving the vids with you and Greg
Glad you’re enjoying them 💪
Great vid!
The team-up we didn't know we needed
jaja I never expectedt this crossover, you two together are fire content end of story.
Its so interesting watching greg here. He seems so keen to learn, humble and wholesome.
First time I’ve seen Mitch struggle with a yoke. They hung and swung like a pendulum.
This was probably after the sumo dls.
Quite liked this collab
Would love you to go meet Thor in Iceland! He has talked so nice about you and is really impressed of your achievements. I know he is injured but you can still do some sessions in the gym and other things!
Greg looking at the gym in the squat rack cracked me up
I’m thinking the yoke was harder for them because of the crossbar being upside down. I ran my old yoke couple times like that. And it allows the uprights to bounce in and out( left and right) since the part of the cross bar that usually sleeves the upright are not stabilizing them down towards the bottom where the weight is , either way freakish yoke carry!
Greg should be a guest commentator at a strongman competition
That’s still very impressive. People should try to do high partial squats with even 650-750 pounds in a power rack. Try lifting it off the safety pins and if you can try supporting that weight for 7- 10 seconds. That will give you a idea how strong M. Hopper is. He made it look easy.
this vid was fun
Greg being Greg, completely making "3, 2, 1, Go" his own by speeding up the tempo and replacing "Go" with "Start". I'd have stopped him. "Can't you be normal and unawkward for once, you goofball? Do it again, properly."
Really a big fan Mitch Amazon information 💪🏻
Mitchell is such a wholesome guy, his knowledge and intelligence is another level, favourite strongman by a mile
Never knew it tbf Greg Doucette’s actually strong af too. Like I get bodybuilders aren’t gonna be weak but man’s got records.
he's a powerlifter as well
Hey Mitch, notice you are using a underbelt and leverbelt nowadays in most videos. Is that something you are trying out or have you made the switch from softbelt and velcro?
I love their chemistry.
You can see how much that yoke is wobbling as he does it, crazy he still got a 7.9
I rearly like watchin you do stuff like this, your a good student you lishen an learn an try to ask the right questions its a great contrast from you seeming to know everythin it helps trust your advice since i now know u can take advice 🤣🤣
Your a hell of a coach
I woul like to ask a general question to the community:
Any thoughts why the recent WSM are so "small"?
Mitch is insanely strong but relatively light.
There was the time of Shawn, Hall, Björnson, Big Z... with the winners always having a bw of near 200kg.
Since 2019 a lot of "light" athlets are winning or in the top 3.
Stoltmans are still heavy but not close to 200.
What changed?
More speed related events in the competition?
Lotta fast athlete entering the game who are also really strong. There also aren't that many 200kg guys still competing
lol i love coach greg
greg says 3 2 1 go so fast, haha!
Must say yoke seems something where I could probably lift more weight than I'd expect but moving it is probably much harder than I expect.
Start practicing with barbell carries if you dont have a yoke handy
Most wobbly yoke
That was brutal, rough kit to learn on
Yeah, but that’s the interest of sport. You never know what kit is available at the comp.
@@mitchellhooperstrongman for sure
Great content
watching greg do the first yolk HAHAHAHAHHA
as it turns out, I actually like Greg when he’s not screaming at the camera, who knew
Nice one
People I train with have competed with you (in Australia) they always said the best things about you, and it always seems so true every time I see your videos! No secrets no bull just straight genuinely a good dude
Love to hear that
@@mitchellhooperstrongman if your ever back in Sydney would love to meet you sometime!
Stay safe dude!
Hey what's up Michael Cooper!
I wish Will was here, all three of you should do a video together. And I mean Greg's son Will
He managed to step to short 🤣
Gregs voice sounds so different when hes screaming in that high pitched voice he usually does in his videos
Cool vid
Old mate squatting in the background defs getting residual gains juice and listening for secrets!
oh this is greate a poger guy like greg doing something so fun and hard like strong man
A skilled workman never blames his tools Mitch lol
Really impressive stuff. Makes one appreciate how hard it is.
I think Greg doing this in tennis shoes is much harder. A low hard sole must be alot better
Hard soles are much better for this event. But Greg was looking fly in those kicks.
....For a white guy
-the offspring
Tennis shoes? Hahaa Greg’s in Yeezys my man
Watch Brian Shaw with the bail yoke in the Arnold's 1526 I think
Good man good man
The amount of wobble and play in that yoke on his final run was rough.
It always baffles me how human Mitchell looks!
Zydrunas looked like a Ninja Turtle on steroids, Brian and Hafthor looked like walking mountains, and Mariusz Pudzianowski looked like a lab experiment created to fight The Hulk. But here Mitchell looks like a big strong man and crushes the competition
Look at coach Greg Yoking harder than last time
Did you lowkey injure your left knee a little at 240?
Interesting seeing hoop start with such a wide stance, obviously i am not a pro strong man but instinctually I would think to start with a narrower stance I would imagine its less side to side movement when you start walking.
Mateusz does a narrow stance where he walks straight through his pick-up. Funny enough, probably the two most elite yoke runners right now, Hooper and Evan Singleton, both have wide pick-ups and narrow running.
@@a-a-rondavis9438 interesting, I guess Im usually not looking at their feet when they start.
When I look at Greg near Mitchell it looks like in typical superhero movie there is main super hero and he has a less stronger partner sidekick who helps him. Like Batman and Robin. Mitchell is Batman. Damn, Mitch, they should cast you in Hollywood. I want you to see in the movie.
Single handedly changing peoples perception of greg doucette 😅
Very very interesting😊
When you say the yokes you use in comp are substantially easier, do you mean they are just a higher quality rig or what?
It's nice hearing Greg's real voice and not his Gilbert Gottfried podcast voice.
Most comfortable sneakers for wide feet?
We have this at my gym, but it is too wide for me. I am taller than Greg, but on an inch or too. Gym is open 24/7, so I may still give a go on late night with no one around! Rather not look a fool.
This is oddly my favorite friendship that’s happening on the tube de you.
Greg you look in great shape. More natural than Mike O'Hearn.
I guess you have to go by Michelle Cooper from now on
What I'm learning is from watching Mitchell is, it does matter how strong you are (obviously), but it matters more the technique. Knowing as much as Mitchell does with all the sports science stuff seems to help as much if not more than just doing reps of as heavy as you can.
You can tell Greg respects the hell out of Mitch and isn't O'Hearn-splaining to the world's strongest man. Hopefully we'll see Greg in a lightweight strongman masters division at some point :)
Next this guy will win WSM world's smartest man lol
I didn't know they went that low
❤

Can you guys bet on a feat of strength where Greg has to grow a moustache if he loses?
"Greg Doucette Tries To Pick Up 1000lb Yoke..."
"@gregdoucette said that he could pick up a 1000-pound yoke, what do you think?"
I think that someone in the editing department made a doo-doo😅
Yoke bar lower than last time.
I dont think theres anyone in the world who can do the yoke as fast and heavy as hooper
7:20 Dunga dunga dunga dunga dunga

You really can tell Coach greg used to be a PE teacher
He looks like a baby trying to walk in his baby crawler
