    Yes, I think I already have at least 2 videos that address this. Search my uploads for squeegee or squeegees. One addresses size and an older one discusses durometer. Also the old video about tips on good coverage will have squeegee talk. Thanks much for watching and dropping me a note. ☠

    I think it’s a great white ink for the money. And I should not have printed a rag in this video. That was a mistake but I was looking at opacity more than anything. So the print should look even better on a new garment. Thanks much for watching and dropping me a note. ☠

  • @CatspitProductions
    @CatspitProductions  Před 11 lety

    Yeah I guess I should have emphasized that the shirt was a rag that had been washed. Print on a brand new garment and that won’t be an issue. Unless the shirt has a fuzzy finished like some brushed cottons or relaxed poly cotton blends. Also try not to work the ink too much on the shirt. The idea is to get the desired print appearance you want in as little motions as possible. Thanks much for watching and dropping me a note. ☠

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  Před 9 lety +3

      Cash Drawsone Either you're not using a proper squeegee or your print stroke pressure is too low. Also make sure there is some off contact between the screen and the substrate. About a 16th of an inch. OR you added too much base and it has changed the ink flow characteristics o f the ink. Thanks for watching. Greetings, first of all I must say I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your videos. The print looks good but it seems that the hand is very rough, there is "fibrillation", or I'm not sure how you call it in English. How would you prevent such a thing from happening? I am still a novice and I encounter this issue in most of my jobs on dark garments. I was thinking that, among other things, perhaps I was not stirring my inks quite enough. Thanks in advance and keep it going :)

      @CatspitProductions  Před 10 lety

      You’re very welcome. I don’t recommend thinning white inks. If it is too thick for any reason something is wrong. If you want a softer print you might use some soft hand base but don’t add too much. It will change the ink’s performance. Thanks for watching!

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  Před 5 lety +1

      If it is a white ink you really do not want to thin it out because that can kill the opacity. Same thing for any high opacity ink. But plastisol inks are thixotropic so if you mix it and stir it up really well with a egg beater or a drill with a paint mixing bit, it will get thinner, creamier and easier to work with.

    hi catspit here i am agai asking questions :) ill be printing plastisol for the first time tommorow ..my questions are is plastisol ink durable?can it be thik like rubberized ink? i read somewhere that you should use a heat gun to dry the first color before puting the second color?and is it 160 celcius 15 seconds for curing in heatprrss?thank you very much..youve been so helpful in my first two months of printing :)))

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  Před 8 lety +2

      +Christopher Cudiamat Yes, plastisol ink is probably the most durable and colorful ink for screen printing. It can be thick if you do not design the artwork properly so it is not. There are some cases where we can't really make it feel thin but if you have total control over the artwork then you can get plastisol to feel pretty thin and comfortable. You might be able to use a heat gun:
      czcams.com/video/-NbbZOLfbAA/video.html
      This video is about water based versus plastisol inks which may be helpful:

I bought around 20 used screen off of craigslist some new or recraimed some used I found a a fresh screen in the bunch and I degreased it and was able to successfully coat it with elumsiin (thanks by the way) I was also successful with burning the image. now the bad part I think...it was on a 280 mesh screen now my question is can I print white plastisol on the 280 or should I not even waste my time being frustrated trying to print and just reclaim a 110 recoat reburn and used a lower mesh count. thanks in advance

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  Před 8 lety +1

      This may be a little late but for white plastisol ink you'll want to use the lowest mesh count you can possibly get the design off on. So yes, 110 mesh if the artwork will work on that mesh count. There's a cheat sheet and a video on my product page for screens:

      No, you do not need RIP software just for that. It should be printing out crisp and sharp naturally. If not then you may have a printer issue or something else. No, not practically. Unfortunately this ink needs to reach about 330 degrees F to cure properly. I use all the same products that I sell. I do not print water-based inks very often but when I do I use the Jantex starter kit currently. But the fading is the nature of the beast with most water-based inks. Plastisol ink is about the only ink that will not fade. Sorry about that. The ink is very inexpensive in gallons. The manufacturer of that ink does not make quarts so I have to quart them off into proper containers and label them. Hey CATSPIT, I'm a fan of your work and advice. I've found your technique best but when I try to flood the screen as you do (over and over) I am getting ink going underneath the stencil around the edges which then ruins the next print, how do you manage to flood without this happening especially when you can occasionally see your stencil as in this video?

    • @CatspitProductions
      @CatspitProductions  Před 9 lety

      Hello there. Thank you. I appreciate your support. Flooding the ink is relevant to the ink type you are using. The thinner the ink the less you need to flood the mesh. With some inks I don't flood at all. I just pull some ink with the print stroke. So depending on how thick your ink is you will flood less or more accordingly. Does that make sense?
