what library do you go to? My local library has computers and free wifi but employees are awful. They cant answer tech advice/help with printing and usually just sit in the corner with a cup of tea trying to ignore customers

Hi I'm sorry I'm back again. I was thinking about the comments that I had made . Education gives people the power to express themselves. Personally I am dyslexic And have had trouble with reading all my life. But technology has gave me abilities I have not had before.Everything that I have read through technology suggest that there is something wrong . We could go on for hours about what I think is wrong. What I think I have to offer about this situation is my point of view. Where I think we should start is propaganda promoting different kinds of learning. Having workshops And other activities orchestrated by the librarian . The public has been manipulated for years. I just think we need positive ever advertising advertising advertising. I think that self learning Is key here hey.

I completely disagree libraries are out of date. Every time I drive by One Or go into one. I think about how much it cost the tax payers To heat and cool .Not to mention the lights. Don't get me wrong. I just think there are more efficient ways to use that space in the 20th Century. Traditionalism Can be unhealthy If the tools we need are not allowed to grow.
People need access to free, ACCURATE information and to educated people who know how to get it for them. I work for a public library and I can tell you that not everyone has home internet, so we are actively filling the gap between those with no home internet and those without. There are also many, many services that we offer for FREE that people cannot get anywhere else. From how to use your mobile device to how to use your desktop computer, we are educating people every single day. The way we get our information may have changed, but the information itself has not.
Google is better
Google will give you inaccurate information, and you will not even know that it was inaccurate until it is too late. Sure, Google is great for some things, but if you want to make sure you're getting the best, most accurate information the public library is still your best option.
