Yea I remembered that game but I killed the cave with some cheap unit's so I was happy about that
Apollo: "Take your pants off and they will run away"
Me: "Sounds like he's speaking from experience"
Totally
That’s a good one
i hecking collapsed wen i read it
Hey apollo, thanks for covering the battle! The reason we tried holding that one area was because that little... cliffside gave our archers fantastic range of fire. We were having a great archer duel with the attackers. The battle was a blast to do! We don't get battles with so many experienced players very often so this was a fun one
Thanks for the wonderful battle guys
Love how appollo just talks about random soldiers for a while lol
17:18
They want to get their swords wet...
With blood of course.
Apollo 2019
The only real mistake from the defenders was the point where they sent almost all of their elite units into the courtyard at 36:39. At that point that fight was lost and they should have pulled back. Good battle though, I enjoyed it.
it was kinda the end of the battle at that point and we were not going to win so just gave it our all
So the winners is attcakers?
You fucking spoilers
@@faiznaufal2527 I said that, that fight was lost, never said they lost the battle as a whole. That position was being overrun. *Amendment* why would you read the comments before watching the video?

This is like ESPN for Total War
48:24 absolute legend
I agree
what a heroic kill
Reminded me of that scene from Troy where Achilles stabs the giant barbarian in the shoulder.
Man I have been watching this guy for so long shit 2020 here I come
You didn't even know...
So ignorant
Shit 2020 is right

Look at that duel!! Look at it!
I love me some Rome 2. Great infantry animations!
Although speaking of animations I cannot not mention the monsterous creatures animations in Warhammer. Nothing beats that.
I remember when I first watched a video of yours, PA. I thought, "This guy is one of the cheesiest Total War dudes I've ever heard." The way you talk is just so cheesy, but it's also just so freaking enjoyable.
You come off so down to earth, compared to most other Total War players who tend to (at least a little) come across as big-headed in their way of describing things. You're just so... man. I feel like I could immediately become best friends with ya. Dude. After watching this, I've finally subscribed. You're just great.
I love seeing even experienced players, do the defensive square. It really shows that, no matter in reality, or in game, the strategy holds up to it's reputation.
32:50 your choice of words is very creative.
“This will start off quickly” *flies over to a gate indicating a sally-out will take place*
*"YOU WANNA GO? YOU WANNA GO?"*
I don't know it's kinda funny when he said that while looking at naked dude.
Love your stuff man, been watching for a good few years. So glad you're still playing Rome 2.
Please Start a campaign series in Total War: Rome 2

Awesome perfect timing just left my friends and saw this xD.
@Pixelated Apollo: My idea for a siege tournament in Rome 2. Use the DEI mod (available on Steam). Only use early period units, ie, no Roman imperial or other 'late' period units. Ban all deployables for defenders and no hugely OP Tortoises for the attackers. Don't ban any factions. Teams get factions randomly (pick them out of a hat or whatever) but teams are ALL one faction (or, I suppose, you could make it two) When attacking they get four players and armies, but when defending only three players and armies. After one round of a attacking and defensive game, drawn rounds are decided by a four v four field battle with factions reversed from the siege battles (ie, if one team was Sparta and the other was Athens for the siege battles, they will reverse that for the deciding field battle). For the second and subsequent rounds each winning team draws a new random faction and the process is repeated. Use the same city for all battles in each round, Umpires (or draw them out of a hat randomly) select one civilised and one barbarian city and a coin toss decides which city is used. In the second and subsequent rounds do the same thing again with two different cities. Appoint a neutral umpire (or, better yet, a panel of three who work by majority vote) to resolve all disputes.

By the way, granola may have been the reason behind that tough build up you had at 4:24. Especially if you’re eating granola that’s in larger more solid chunks. I clog my toilet almost every single time! 🚽
Glad to know you’re better of course 😘
Fooooor Col-Kiss!!!! (Playing a Legendary Baktria campaign right now. Just made the poor fools my satrapy instead of wiping them from this glorious earth!)
I wish we could see more hybrid archers like Lindon in Third Age Reforged. On one hand they're infamously expensive, on the other it's always hilarious to see cav charge "archers" and get owned.
been watching these intense battles one after another, and the amount of snacks are mounting up man !!
Honestly, after all this time, this is still my favorite channel to come back to
I am so glad I discovered your channel two days ago! This is so cool!
also Apollo 2019 - "Strip naked, people won't want to fight you!" I feel he speaks from experience!

Great video, awesome fight. Thanks again apollo
"Carthage is one of my favorite castles" - Pixelated Apollo, 2019
I love your content so much, keep it up and please make more 4v4's its so fun to watch!!!!!!
This level of skillful play is why i watch this channel. Kudos to both teams.
The goblet shield meant he was born from a wine family
Imagine. "The naked swordsmen got slammed from the rear"
That would be an interesting choice of words.
@Randy Peterson "Imagine".
"You dont want to sent your entire army into one chokepoint" completely misses the flankers on the ridge going for town center that is wide open come on you know better apollo
lol that lion in the courtyard.. "This is nasty", "hmm, humans"
I like when People complain about certain thing in games like this, Like back in the days there was no cheesiness there was only victory or defeat good strategies and Bad, Like when they came out with hoplites & later Pikes back in the day I’m sure everyone thought it was cheesy but Alexander was like who cares I’m victorious cheesy or not
I've been watching your content since the beginning love your vids
Awesome video keep up the good work
I love these team match raid videos
I think you are right about the prononciation of Colchis as"Kolkiss" , the name could come from khalkos which means cupper in old greek it was the ressource the greeks bought to them at this time and could explain the myth of the golden fleece as cupper and gold are often found together.
That was a great battle, besides the "gone sexual" comments by Pixie Poo haha! It's really cool to see players who know what they are doing with their units and maneuvers.
2:06 wow you just called the Lusitani by their name in the firts go, keep up pix :D
*Rock formation exists*
Apollo : u r my archenemy
Great fight from both teams. I think the defendrs did have a chance here it was balanced mabe if they had fallen back sooner and left ony the hoplites at that rear entrence they could have won but still it was a great fight thnx apollo more vidoes like that
I love how you plug your sponsors. You keep giving us an active look at the battlefield. This is great. Thank you for that. :) One question about the game though, how can you chose AI units in custom battle and have them actually stay as you chose them when the battle starts? So far I chose the entire enemy and allied armies and when I start the battle only my units are the same as I selected them.
You have to be careful not to change any battle settings after picking AI units. Choose what kind of battle you want, funds, attack or defend, time of day, and then clear the AI army and fill it with your choice. Changing any settings could reset your choice and let the AI fill their army again
@@JoshuaAndrea1 thank you :)
11:33 Best quote ever
Excellent video Apollo of Rome II i havent seen Third Age alot in this time though what happend ?
Reasoning behind images on the shields of Athenians is, it would be something dedicated to their hometown where their patron God would be worshipped. I think
Colchis, (the c would be silent, [cole - hiis]. It is an old kingdom located in present day Georgia.
What an awesome battle !!
Lol 15:25 the back stories of each individual soldier.
14:44 The weeb in the team that wants to stand out.
Love these videos
Nice vid Apollo 😁
You really found a niche man, love the videos even when they are 50 min long

Apollo I got chips and guacamole with a wieghted blanket on my bed I was born ready for this siege battle😂
new video of Apollo ... is time to go buy some snack
Oh the old ‘snacks and drinks’ bribery... it worked.
I swear he says this in all of his Carthage Rome II siege battles 2:50. I have no problem with it I just think it’s funny.
Sadly, a lot of Total War players seem to underestimate the power of good teamwork.
Bloody Halloween special nice
16:00 wow he flipped that guy with shield
11:32 Allies openings 😂
gotta love those horse ranch people....
“Humans, theyre wack” 😂
One of your best fight-calling games💯 ...ever think of being an E Sports commentator?😉
Apollo: Im gonna cut down as many of the retreating dudes as possible.

Guess the frames were retreating too. he really cut those down to like 7 fps.

"Hear ye hear ye! Let the battle of the shiniest turd commence!"
Love you pixey!!! Keep it up!! Can you do some third age please!?? Thanks!!
love your video
I came for Apollo's close up camera view. Was not dissapointed.
14:41 So that's Medusa if you didn't know that. And people from Ancient time to 1400-1500 century, believed in these creatures that they roamed earth. You can also see a Centaur on one of the shields. Basically they believed that these creatures existed in "unexplored" countries such as we today call South America and North America, because the map before Christopher Colombus was pretty accurate to today, But America wasn't on that map, because they were flat earth believers back then. But they hadn't explored the whole earth yet by that time and after Christopher Colombus, these creatures slowly started going away from books... And you will see alot of these "mythical symbols such as Medusa, Centaur, Griffin and Cyclops" all over ancient books. You will also find them in old churches that are before 1500 century. Hope the information was helpful somehow.
Thanks!
@zouni They are so called "Peasants" those peope.
In ancient times as far as I know the pictures on there shields tell the history of the regiment they tell a story
Idk if this has been done already, but it would be pretty cool to have a siege battle with Rome vs nemeses i.e Rome vs Carthage, Parthia and Germania (is that what they were called?)
Real human slingers wouldn't have held they hold their lives more dear than pixels do.
I honestly watch these for the commentary.
Slammed in the rear lol
Here comes Suebi coming in
“Naked swords going in”ahahahahha
Yay rome 2 videos are back.
I’m a simple man. I see Apollo... I like the video 🤷♂️
Your video is amazing
I think the turning point is when the attacking team pushed through with the cavalry and cause hell in the defender's position.
The art are unit logos so normally one type of unit will have one type of art on their shields. And hoplite helmets have horsehair on their helmets so those with the face mask are most likely Macedonian.
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced Culchis with the ch sound but wait to see what others say just in case I'm wrong :). Also, loved the video, keep up the great work Pixie!!!!
Diamonds Forever x actually It's Kolhis
@@deadmorose9915 always thought it was said 'kholkis
@@deadmorose9915 Thanks, and this is why I said wait and see what others say. Glad to know someone here knows this :)
Cognitive Disability the greek one (basically original, where the nowaday's pronounciation comes from) was Κολχις, which should be read 'Kolhis'. So that's it
