@@WizardGrizzlyBear mostly because he thought they were great but no one was giving any offers. He's passively interested so he put out the deals that would be a win for him if they actually accept. Then it got the conversation started and other sharks now want to join. He just didn't want good businesses to get no offer.

Not for the likes of this, most of these deals don't close because they takes months. So when you have someone like Cuban show such interest, you know he likes your product.
That’s the point. If I offer you a deal that’s okay for you, but good for me, I don’t want someone else trying to give you a better deal and have you take that one. Of course it’s very underhanded and scummy, but it’s still a valid tactic
Mark rushing to get a deal is best thing ever. I never seen him get up before the deal is accepted!!!
It's a boss move from one perspective, but it's also ridiculously manipulative and underhanded from a being-a-decent-human-being perspective. I'd rather go my own way on principle than work closely with someone who demonstrates that they are willing to manipulate me for their own gain.

I remember Mr. Wonderful raising a price of a deal for the same percentage by $200,000 knowing he wasn’t going to get it. He said he would have made the other sharks pay more, but the guy he was helping took the deal before he could raise the price again.

Honestly, I would be sorely tempted to walk away just on principle. A clear, demonstrable willingness to manipulate you for personal gain seems like a bad foot to start a business relationship on.
If i was there I'd listen to everyone and tell mark to be respectful and let me think before deciding future of my business, he he won't then he's not a good partner. No one serious about their business should accept to be bullied into choosing . He's a billionaire what's 100k to him.
When you go on the show you already have to agree to give up 4-5% to the network iirc. The free marketing and everything. At the same time...when Mark says he'll give you the money no questions asked, especially for food, this means you'll probably end up getting a secured contract full on for 2 years at his arena.
These sessions are usually 45mins to an hour long and not the 5-10min version that the show puts on tv
@@localblackman427 that’s not true. The 4-5% to the network was only for the first few seasons. Mark Cuban convinced the network to stop doing that if they wanted him to stay on the show because it was stopping good businesses from even considering going on

At the level of these sharks’ resources, anything less than 500k is really nothing to them, if the product becomes a hit, then it’s wonderful, but if it fails, it’s not really significant. But being able to see small biz owners have a chance to step up to a bigger league is what makes the show entertaining.
When Kuban makes those offers, he doesn't wanna compete because he is genuinly interested. Take the deal, he will make it grow.
