You have 20 bats in the picture what is your favorite Bat 20 Bats let’s go Amazing
I used a 38 steel bat when I started playing in the 70s and by the time I was finished a 28
I swing a 25 LOL to 26.5
Don't assume that a lighter bat will give you more bat speed. Truth is as we get older, speed escapes us. You can increase strength. With strength, if you can wheel that heavier bat around, you'll get the performance you're looking for. A real popular bat these days is a 28oz 12" barrel with an extra 1/2 to 1oz added to it. It's like cracking a whip when that barrel makes contact.
well bottom line is if you swing that 28 better than a 26 and get results really doesn't matter how fast your bat speed is, many old players really don't need the so call bat speed. Some prefer the heavier bat because it supplies the eight to hit to Right with some pop. YOU should not find anyone on this channel telling you to do one certain thing. I share my experiences and that of other players I respect their knowledge of what they do for good results. When you get in your 70's the game is no longer goes to the biggest and strongest, ed
Derby champ seemed like he had specifically looked into the topic and relate it to physics and understands enough to convey his findings. The guy in the red Cardinals top.... I'm not sold on that drop test he performed and the 'physics' he was trying to prove with it by starting the fall from near 90 degrees...too many variables for errors, it needs to start more like 80 degrees. He also needs a better explanation to why the heavier bat would hit the ground first due to some kind of axis variable and how that is different than the Apollo 15 mission where Astronaut David Scott dropped a feather and hammer on the moon at the same time in the vacuum of space to prove one of Galileos observations of gravity that both objects would hit the ground at the same time.
I concur ... light bat better ... to me ... why have we been getting lighter and lighter. ? The materials likely would not hold up either ,... interesting how we are to the point of debate ... LOL on bat drop I think it was flawed thinking ... to many variables like you said ...
I've always heard there is a limit on how much endload manufacturers are allowed to use and I've swung several different models of the same exact bat in 25-28 and in my opinion the heavier bats don't feel more endloaded they feel like the weight is more in the handle.
wt in the handle to me dumb the bat down. ...
I am convinced by the science guy. Heavier bat will move faster. Science and numbers. Made sense. (As insurance, I'd keep up with the strength training.
well it all depends on how the players swings a heavy bat .. that is certainly not the major factor in success ... the bat has to complaint a hitter's abilities and strengths. to many variables to say flat out it better for either one ... me I am light bat guy but it I swing heavy bat I can hit it farther most tomes but with my swing mechanic it requires more precise timing and more missed or top ball swings etc.
It really depends on the manufacturer on how they weigh their bats.If for example they make one shell and just add weight to the handle(which most do)then they counterbalance and take away from the endload.Swing the heaviest bat you can without sacrificing too much bat speed and weigh your bats.Find bats with more endload and less handle weight and watch your distance and exit velo rise.A basehitter should swing a balanced bat for more control and ball placement.Just my 2 cents.
I like your recommendation .. Tell me your name and were you play out of ... will mention this? I will bunce this off my crew ... I agree with the logic ... Have not used Balance in long time one of my friends Cecil Whitehead uses balance and is one of best hitter in the game.
@@edrose14 my name is Lance Evans and I'm from Ny.
The man makes the soild.point
The manufacturer only makes one barrel per model and you can only push so much mass out to the end before it won’t meet 1.21 bpf. After that point, to make a heavier bat, they have to push the mass back to the handle which is worthless.
that is well said ..ed
Haaaa the physics knowledge from professor Cardinal was funny shit
The science is the heaviest weight you can swing the fastest.
we all agree on that ,,,
This vlogger definitely has that good old boy accent. Try all weights and stay with the highest average weight.
Bring back the 30’s
So if i drop a 100lb weight versus a 50lb weight off a building, the 100lb weight hits the ground first. Physics or common sense?
not sure your point .... you will certainly swing the 5olb weight faster than the 100 lb.. swing the heaviest bat you can swing the fastest. .
