This week Geology Johnson looks at an Ancient Jurassic Tropical Coral Reef in Oxford, England. I talk about the creatures that lived on the reef and what we can learn about the the climate and other environmental conditions just by looking at the rocks with our eyes.

One of the best videos I have watched on CZcams. I learned so much and really enjoyed your laidback style.

Thank you so much. You gave me answers, perspectives and confirmations I had been looking for. I have just recently become interested in fossils and of course geology goes hand in hand and of course for a newbie it is hard to know where to start. So much to take in. Yesterday I visited my first Oxfordian reef near where I live in Lower Saxony on the Ith hills and your film has helped me make sense of a few things as well as Identify some little bits I found there as well as giving mean idea of the conditions they were living in, fascinating stuff. Proper buzzing! I will jump into the rest of your films but I wonder if you would recommend any books for beginners like myself? Cheers :)

This is at Headington quarry which is now a park that is open for the public to go and see.
