They wanted to create something that no one could actually sing without a synth and then the woman walked in and went watch this. Her ability is out of this world.

I'm so glad you loved this! The auto tune was in honor of Cher who used it as an effect on that song. Heaven knows they don't need it, lol.
The 90's encompassed my entire teen years, from middle school through college, so I knew every single one of these! I wore an outfit similar to Kirstie's silver one on New Year's Eve 1999, and had a brown leather bomber jacket like what Scott was wearing from 1995 to 1997. So many memories in this one medley!

I love how they did the wardobe, the hairstyles, all of it! And tell me you don't love Kirstie's curls!! I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of the Sing Off videos. They only get better. I am so excited for my two most favorite Sing Off reactions. Including the first ever Mitch Slap. And yes that was a bit of Autotune. because in the version Cher sang Autotune was used for the first time, so they did it to pay tribute to Cher and the song. I love your energy and infectious laugh. This is how music should be enjoyed!
I don't think it was the first time Autotune was used... I believe that it was the first time it was used specifically to create the distortion on her voice as an intentional sound effect. It came to be known as the "Cher effect".
@@bill.godwin-austen You may very well be right. I speak only from what I've been told by other PTX fans. That it was used for the first time in that song, so that is why PTX did the same.

I'm so glad you noticed when Matt and Kevin went up and down with their voices for a few seconds. Very few reactors talk about that. You are very observant. This is one of my faves of theirs. N O S T A L G I A!!!!!! I went dancing too man!!! They need to do a medley for each year!!! They are all so talented...unreal. Kirstie is just stunningly pretty in this one. Just for your info there is a video of them doing this Side by Side with the originals....you can literally hear the upgrades.

Matt, I discovered Pentatonix a couple of years ago so I am watching you go through the exact same kind of discovery I went through back then. Watching you is a joy (and sometimes funny, Mr. Muted Microphone), and that's why you have so many Pentaholic subscribers like me.
I must admit that I am low-key addicted to watching PTX Reactor videos and I've watched hundreds at this point. One of the best things about your reactions is they are DAILY!
I don't wear headphones 100% of the time--they're not really necessary for restoration or dashcam videos. I usually wait to put headphones on until I know I have some reactions to watch but today I just fired up the PC, connected the headphones immediately, and went to your channel.

Btw the song you noticed the autotune on was Cher's believe. The first song to use autotune and also the song ptx decided not to do on the sing off episode you just watched when they swited to Video Killed the Radio Star. Fun that they brought it back amd decided to do it 10 years later.

I'm glad I hounded you about it! I knew you would love it, I mean Kirsty looked drop dead gorgeous, Scott is looking too handsome and Mitch is off the charts! Kevin of course can do no wrong and Matt kept time with the beatboxing in a perfect bass! I would love to see an album with all these songs, full versions. I'll put Blinding Lights on repeat (50 times) and clean my house. That song gets me up and moving! I loved it from the first time I heard it. A close second that gets me jumping is Come Along! but when I hear Gold, I have to sit down to appreciate the fine tuning of harmonies! So beautiful! Nobody does it like PTX! Thank you for reacting! You are just so fun to watch. You would probably kill at a lip-synch competition. Sometimes when you talk, you draw pictures with your words, verging on poetry. If you haven't tried your hand at writing, I'd be surprised.

More medleys that they have that you should check out. The wetten Dass medley recorded on a German TV show in 2014 consisting of a mix of pop songs, their perfume medley sang in Japanese. 3 songs of the group Perfume and their Home Medley that can lead you to the rest of their Home ep. The whole ep was recorded seperately by each member during quarantine on their own home studios and then sent to a mixer to complete the songs. The videos were filmed on their separate iPhone too.

They can do Almost any thing. Remember Scott was born September 91 and Mitch in July 1992. The didn't listen to EDM or pop music growing up, They each have their own individual projects, Mitch released, his first solo album called "Mesmer"

They do use autotune in this one. Purely as a stylistic choice (well, more like to make it closer to the original song)...this is exactly how autotune should be used.
