- Disclaimer- in the video, I state that Maxamet is a bearing steel (no idea why I said that since I know what it is) when it’s actually a high-speed tool steel for rollers/cutters etc in machinery. I was saying Maxamet, but thinking 52100. Also- as you can see in the video- the edge started losing it’s bite and glassing out from taking it too high on the stones. This video shows that in between where it doesn’t quite know whether to be toothy or glassy! We will try a very low stone next- most likely a 325DMT finish and that’s it. This is not an all-encompassing opinion on S60V. This is my thoughts from using it so far for a month. We will continue trying different tactics! Thank you so much for watching!
Right on Erica! Playing around with all these steels lately..rock on lady!
Thanks a bunch!!
I don't know much but I do know that Corona t shirt is amazing!! The guns are out!! Love it!!!!
Haha thanks!!!!
I love the look of this blade
Thanks man!!!
Just want to thank you for all of the great info. I have been slowly trying some of the better steels and I have found that I guess I do enjoy not having to sharpen it every week. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Love hearing that! God bless!!!
Good information. Your a blade steel encyclopedia 👍. Have a good day tomorrow Ms E. See ya.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
Hey thanks for watching my brother!
This was great info! Cheers, E!
Cheers David! Thanks for watching!
Least professional but the most authentic girl!! 😅
Awh thanks!!!
"I think that 2000 was too high" LOL DUDE you're like a Samurai or something!!
Hi Jesse!
I enjoyed the video, but it seems like I have seen another one somewhere that covered some of the same topics. 🤔 It is really interesting how different steels act depending on their structure. Some surprises for me have been how some steels that hold a great edge are much quicker to sharpen than what you would think. Logic would say if it holds a great edge, then it should take a long time to sharpen, but that gets blown out of the water by some of the steels we have today.
It sure does! That’s where my love of Super Steels came from. They’re just all around awesome to use, sharpen, and enjoy!!!
Good job!
Thanks so much for watching!!!
I can’t never pull with both hands, it’s always so tough to maintain the angle with my left hand. I usually have to do a push and pull so I can use my right hand when passing both sides. Gotta keep practicing!! Great video, love a toothy edge
You are in the majority of most people my friend- trust me! Super normal. Thanks so much for watching!
My 154cm and m4 from Benchmade feel like they glass out when they go dull! Great explanations love the video best!!!
Thanks bestie boo!!!
I still can’t get over that burr, bring on the s60v ☝️
Filmed the review today!!!!!
I wouldn’t expect an edge to glass out at 2000 grit. Usually the glassiness starts around 8k maybe 6K
Yeah this one surprised me for sure!
It's time to get stoned .... DMT for the edge.
Nice analysis Erica. Have you ever used Cromax PM?
Have a good weekend .... plus don't get caught having too much fun!
Never !🥰🥰🥰
Erica!❤ great little knife...I need something in S60V...Would this be the one you would recommend me?
What are you looking for (use wise) in your blade? This is a design I did with Dusty. I am partial to it for that reason- because I love everything about it! But I’d love to hear what you want to use your knife for- as this may not suit YOUR personal needs!🥰
If i use so many stones i would probably mess up my grinding angle 😅 i walked 12,4 miles in 4 days you sound better to 😊
Slowly on the mend!
