My mom loved this song. I remember sitting under the kitchen table playing with my toy cars and my mom at the kitchen sink doing the dishes and singing along with this song. Brings a tear to my eye. miss you mom.
This song was in the movie called hair that was actually originally a Stage production which made it all over the US and in the movie the women and men were inside the car driving when they sang it of course they were lip syncing because the microphones were not in the car but the music was probably on a tape player in the car that one song is also on CZcams when they were in the car so you can see that song
Music in the 60sand 70s was so diverse and so simple for the most part.I do appreciate the fact unlike most reactors you don't spend time questioning the genre of a song. It's really a waste of time especially the way in recent years all of these hybrid genres started being used . I.e. Yacht Rock. Good job Harri
This song is from the musical "Hair" which also gave us the hit songs "Aquarius / Let the Sunshine In" by the Fifth Dimension and the title song "Hair" by the Cowsills.
I remember hearing this song in 1969. Always liked the happy vibes it gave me. This song was used in the musical "Hair". Oliver also had a hit with the song "Jean" which was the theme song in the film "The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie". It is another very beautiful song.
Oh my, haven't heard this song in a long time. Yes, we were a bunch of hippies back in the day... :-) And good ones to go with this is anything by the Turtles, The Rascals, The Partridge Family or anything from Godspell or old Hollies...you've already done Scott MacKenzie which is perfect as well.
Love this song. After his musical career ended William Oliver Swofford went into pharmaceutical sales and moved to my hometown in Louisiana, a block from my home. He sadly passed away in 2000 from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at 54.
Who is Oliver Urdaneta as indicated by the heading next to GOOD MORNING STARSHINE Reaction? It should just be "Oliver." You're right that his real name is William Oliver Swofford.
The music from "Hair" is so good. I haven't seen any reaction channels do original Broadway cast versions, but would love to see. This musical was from my dad's generation so I have been listening (and watching the movie) since I was a kid. Great music! And a great message, anti-war and all the good hippie stuff
I always told my kids our songs had really meaningful lyrics: Gliddy glub gloopy, nibby nabby noopy la, la, la, lo, lo Sabba sibby sabba, nooby abba nabba, le, le, lo, lo Tooby ooby walla, nooby abba naba Early morning singing song Lol. But I love this song. Thank you for reacting to it.
I was in the 5th grade when this song was released, and our teacher would play it on the piano while we sang the lyrics handed out. I still remember all the gliddy glub gloopy, nibby nobby noopy la, la, la, lo, lo. Lol!
This is from the Broadway musical Hair but they did a movie of it that is really good. It's about hippies, the draft and the Vietnam war. The actors in the original musical would strip down to nothing. It was controversial back in the day. There are so many good songs in it so definitely worth watching to see how all the songs fit together. There's even a song called Hair.
From Hair the musical. People of of Shaftes Bury see this on Dhafyetevury avenue. The first counter culture Broadway smash hir. It brought so many things to the stage we had never seen before on it
Oliver was a great singer. Unfortunately, he only had 2 real hits. His other hit was beautiful song called "Jean". You should check out this song, you will love it.
SO this song came from the soundtrack to the original production of HAIR. The recording was as popular as that of many major 60's artists. It spawned half a dozen big radio hits covered by a variety of artists: Easy to Be Hard, Hair, Let the Sun Shine in, The Flesh Failures, Age of Aquarius and this tune, Good Morning Sunshine. Check out HAIR the original soundtrack (not the film version which came later and wasn't as good). Try Manchester England or the psychedelic anthem, Walking in Space.
