Rob take a brass wire wheel and brake cleaner to the tops of the pistons. Yes and clean head gasket surface too with a razor blade and if you haven't already get feller gauges and a straight edge and check for warpage of the block or for any low spots. This will let you know if you need further machine work on the block. Granted I think you have already put it back together and it seems fine.

Nice Job. FYI, WD40 works well on your thread chaser and won't fill your bolt holes with oil again. :)

What if u don’t have that lube for it. Can I just use regular assembly lube or anti seize?

If you didnt clean the top of the sleeve surface your gasket is going to blow again just leting you know by experience, and you need to resurface the head too

Unless you boost it...you'll never make enough power for the head to lift

Does one sit lower than all the rest?

Just for everyone who see's thisnfrom now on knows. YES. If you're facing the exhaust the top right stud sits lower than the rest. If you compare the sitting spot of that stud i the head, you'll see why.

From what I've heard the OEM ones can stretch over time and arent reusable but the arp ones dont so maybe just in case hes gotta pull the head again

    • @RefineMovement

Hey Nick. Yeah, pretty much what Tyler says in this string of comments. The oem bolts that come out of the car are not recommended for resue. They are called torque to yield bolts or something like that and they actually stretch when they are torqued down. Because of that you aren't supposed to reuse them. People do, but I chose not to. I could've bought other oem style bolts but for a few dollars more I chose to go with these headstuds. One nice advantage of the headstuds compared to oem bolt style is that the headstuds are reusable. Very cool!
